  i remember that the wt used to regularly publish their membership and memorial attendance numbers.

  was that in the watchtower?.

  how would i find the current numbers by country?

  TBH. I wouldn't trust their figures. I'm convinced they make it all up.

  I have no idea what they've altered to fit their propaganda and agenda. But, if it's anything like the old NWT(tm), it's a load of Watchtower Corporation(tm) agenda driven rubbish.

  this guy: how embarrassing.it's also sad that when it was being filmed, no one thought to tell him "you don't have to over do it..they'll get the point.."now he lives forever in internet infamy.

  Do you mean that the usual arrogant BMW driver is too self important to indicate? That there are no indications of the return?

  I can't stand many BMW drivers, same as Merc drivers. To self important to obey the UK Highway Code. (I don't know what the equivalent is in America or other countries).

  the twickenham post made me think of this.

  i have a few jw family members on facebook and being summertime, their pics of the convention have shown up in my fb feed.

  along with their comments about "i wished it would never end" or "what a glorious weekend".

  Simes - some spotty faced brown-shirt-wannabe attendant trotted up to tell us that the chair was for attendants ONLY. He seemed quite shocked when I told him, very loudly, to Fuck Off!!

  I had a bust up with one of these 'jobsworths'.

  I was waiting in a queue for an ice cream and a 'jobsworth' attendant told me to keep moving.

  'I'm in a queue, you twat.' I told him.

  He was younger than me, fresh out of school. Probably the son of a PO who had been cosseted in home schooling and Elder approval all his sad life.

  I was right. He was a twat. It shut him up though.

  yeah, so i know nigel farage is a bit of an abrasive twat.. he no doubt holds views that other people disagree with.. but that doesn't mean his bank can just tell him to sod off and freeze his accounts.. such a thing might go on in commie china or authoritarian russia.

  no doubt hitler closed lots of jewish people's accounts in nazi germany, too.. but the fact that it is happening here, in the yew-kay, is pretty chilling when you consider this country is supposed to champion freedoms, including the one to hold and express varying political views.. this seems to be part of a trend to delegitimise and cancel people who hold certain views.. i remember looking at a yt video of richard dawkins questioning muslim journalist mehdi hassan about his belief in flying horses and muhammad.

  all fair analysis and criticism by dawkins until he suggested that hassan shouldn't be a journalist because of his beliefs.

  LUHE - The only good thing that came out of this affair was the Head Banker (Dame Alison Rose), who briefed a BBC journalist

  It's not an ideal outcome. In my opinion she should be fined for breaching the data protection act, fined and possibly jailed. Your average working class person would probably be.

  Of course she's in that protected elite class, so won't lose much anyway. These types never do.

  what if a witness doesn't believe some of the official teachings of the governing body but remains silent on these subjects to avoid being disfellowshipped?

  The Watchtower corporation(tm) was never a true religion in the first place. Just a cash cow for the gluttons at the top.

  You can't become an 'apostate(tm)' from Watchtower(tm) fakery, in the religious sense. Although, they pretend to see it like that because they don't want financial contributors to diminish.

  If 'apostasy(tm)' just means a 'moving away from', then Jesus was an 'apostate(tm)' from Judaism. The Watchtower corporation(tm), is 'apostate(tm)' to common sense.

  I liked talking to old friends, chatting up females and eating.

  As for the content of the sessions, they were not memorable.

  We looked forward to the dramas, only to see some blokes dressed in dyed blankets miming to awful American accents.
