I hate to see people mark up other peoples property. Witness or no witness its criminal. There was a KH that got burned in Bonnom , TX. several yrs ago. It was back in the 80's when everyboy was having trouble. The cong. was having a lot of trouble and someone from headquarters came down. They couldn't do anything cause the ones they were having trouble with was on the deed to the KH. Now that was funny I thought.

Witnesses involved in Multi Level Marketing
by tresdecu ini just ran across an old aquaintance who is a former missionary (along with his wife) - although i think they just went to serve in s.america on their own, not gilead endorsed.
they live in the las vegas area now, and are promoting a new mlm company called 'kaching kaching' (look for it on youtube, pretty cheesy) wactching them on these videos saying things like "do you want a piece of the multi billion dollar pie???
" just blows me away.. i can't help but wonder if they are even still active.

I don't know who ur talking about in Las Vegas but I do know one who use to live in the little town where we live. I use to run around w/his wife. He got in on the ground level of Naoni Juice. He did make it and is worth several million dollars. His neice by marriage said ever JW around was approaching him for money. He last time I heard was living in Reno, NV. He bought about 3 different homes. NV. OK. & FL. He set his son up with one million and I guess his daughter too. My son got a mail out from them. He was on a mailing list they purchased. I haven't heard from them myself.

elders would like a talk with me
by varian inhi everyone.. i recently had a phone call from an elder of my former cong.
they would like to chat with me, and obviously want to encourage me to come back.. to make a long story short: the last 4 or five years i was a jw in their kh, i was more or less completly ignored.
had in that time no phone calls, visits or any interest how i felt etc.

I had quit going & when I told my dad (C O) that I wasn't going back they just read a letter that Thurs. night. No meeting or anything else. Apostacy for me & my husband. H quit going in 1965. My dad probably felt responsible cause he is the one who preformed the marriage for us at this KH. I wouldn't have gone to their interrigation meeting anyway. They came out on my job while I was working to talk to me and I wouldn't quit working to get interrigated. I'm not sorry for not meeting with them. I went through enough nervousness the way it wa. Oh yes they came out to our house & was there when I came in from work one time. They wanted me to study with them a article in WT on the pardical son. Said I needed to study that article before they might get new light!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The light always changes and grows lighter & lighter.

Is there a "dominent family" in your hall?
by pontoon inback years ago when we were getting ready to split, i suggested that two or three bros and their families went to the other hall, otherwise 75% of our new body would be belong to the same family.
my idea was shot down.
so, any time we needed a show of hands, all six of those men (father, two sons, two son in laws, a brother to one son in law) always voted the same way.

New Information On Blood?

I was just thinking that if they changed their view after all this time, just look at how many people died in vain. Just like when they didn't want u to take certain shots and now u could. They are playing with peoples lives. That isn't right.

how important was the hope of the paradise to you? and what do you hope in now?

I use to enjoy talking about the Paradise earth. I remember back years ago when we had to make our own sermons up. 1952 or in that era. My sermon was about the paradise earth. Isa 11. lion lay with the lamb etc. It all seemed so good. After I became an adult same old story. Then I got to see the Natzi . Everyone watching the others and running to the elders. My dad was an overseer year after year. He moved around a lot and everywhere they moved he was made an elder. For about 10yrs. I saw just how many times they would have their meetings and knew someone was probably in trouble. I don't miss that. Like factfinder said, My parents are both dead. I didn't have communication with my dad before he was killed but did with my mother. She thought when they had the accident that killed my dad that I would go back. I didn't. I didn't want to go through all that I would have to go through. Besides I had already replaced the tenet with new things and their teachings didn't bother me at all. Having a form of worship does give one hope and peace of mind. I do have peace of mind. I don't belong to a religon.

Anyone catch the history channel this morning on Egyptian Hieroglyphs and Doomsday?
by sinis inthey started talking about archeologists in the last 1800's that believed that the pyramids were a key to the future by measuring the passageways of the great pyramid of giza - this method is called the "pyramid inch".
anyways, they supposedly could foretell 1914, 2001 (9/11), etc.. as soon as they mentioned 1914 it caught my attention.
after all, is this not how the wts originally came up with the year 1914????

Cameo-d, It is true as you said. They are from the Dog Star Planet.. Same as the Pleiadians were. I knew Isis was from the Dog Star Planet. When I first read that a few yrs. back I went to a map to find it. Sure enough it was there. Yes, I knew they were green. There are two volumes of The Gods of The Egyptians by: E.A. Wallis Budge and in the back of volume 2 there are a group of pictures of the gods & goddesses that fold out. It starts with AMEN-RA,, The Goddess MUT, OSIRIS wearing a white crown and Menat and Holding a Sceptre, Crook & Flail, Then before him are the Four Children of Horus and behind Osiris is his wife ISIS. Next page is Anubus (the God of the Dead) There are a lot more. No, I didn't know that the word Sir came from Osiris. Can learn something new every day. Thanks for telling me. Help: Re: Letter to elders NOT to disfellowship otherwise legal action will be taken

i remember reading a while back about someone on here ( i think) that wrote a letter to the body of elders & headoffice that they should not take any action to disfellowship them as they would be distancing them from friends and relatives and would proceed to take legal action if the body of elders went ahead.. if anyone has that link or can point me in the right direction i'd appreciate that..

wow!! What a letter. Great!! Wish I had had something like that when I got out in 1982. I was used as an example. My dad was the CO. and very stuanch at that. He went by the organization book to a T. He would do things the others didn't want to do. He was a sincere true believer. I saw him have tears running down his cheeks at district assemblies when they would do some of those dramas.

They believed that Osiris came to the earth, lived and died and was resurrected and reigns eternally in heaven. That he made men and women to be born again and have life after death in a world beyond the grave. Some of it is similar to the way JW believe and some churches. They always would recite the 42 negative confessions when praying and tried to live by them. You can see where the ten commandments came from when you read them. Its really interesting if anyone is interested in any of the books.
