Yahweh's wonderful creation
by fulltimestudent inwhen i thought of myself as a christian witness of yahweh attempting to be a footstep follower of jesus, psalm 104 was one of my favourites.
if i was ever in some wonderful scenic area, psalm 104 would jump into my mind, and i'd start to praise yahweh and jesus.. but if something horrible came to mind as in the following video, i'd always think of the favourite christian escape clause, it's all because of adam's sin.
but any connection between natural animal savagery and adam's sin is never logically made in the bible.. interestingly, the supposedly inspired psalm 104 (nwt-the grey one i guess) itself says that:.

Thank you CF for your post. It gives me a few things to think about. I think we may disagree ultimately on a few points, but I am trying to find the proper view of Genesis since a literal reading does not make any sense to me. Thank you for your insights. -

Hi CF,
While I do believe that Christ was the fulfillment of the law and his teachings and Paul's exegesis on the OT (which I believe was inspired) formed the basis for a revelatory new understanding of God, I agree that what many Christians think Jews believed (and still do) is not correct and we shouldn't presume. In fact, I think the best way to get back to first century Christianity is to start with a first century Jewish mindset and understanding and proceed from there. Too much Platonism and other heathen ideas have been inserted into the scriptures and the perceived thinking of first century Christians.
I am curious though, what do you think the purpose of the Eden story was with the judgements issued? It seems that death was not an option before the disobedience and now we all die, regardless of whether or not we inherit an original sin or not. We somehow inherit death, as it seems to indicate, at least on the surface. I am sincerely interested in your thoughts, so please do not let any presumptuous people get you too upset. I welcome other thoughts and especially those of learned Jews.

Attorney General: JW congregation didn't report child abuse
by betterdaze indelaware attorney general: sussex co. jehovah's witnesses congregation didn't report child abuse.
by associated press 1:47pm, august 5, 2015. the delaware attorney general's office is suing a jehovah's witnesses congregation in sussex county, claiming that elders failed to report an unlawful sexual relationship between a woman and a 14-year-old boy, both of whom were congregation members.. oral arguments in the civil action are set for november.. authorities say elders learned in january 2013 that katheryn harris carmean white was having sex with the boy and failed to immediately call a child abuse hotline.. the congregation's attorney argues that the elders are protected by clergy privilege from the reporting requirements, similar to the confidentiality of a church confessional.. carmean white, who worked as a teacher's aide at seaford middle school, was later convicted of rape and child endangerment and sentenced to six years in prison..

Just in case they don't know, maybe we should email them to let them know about the recorded testimony of the RC which has done all their work for them. -

It's funny that he advises people to just be inactive. If an inactive menber is reported as attending another church, they will be disfellowshipped. So there is no way to leave the org and continue on a spiritual journey. Oh, and if you speak to anyone about your issues while inactive, you'd be disfellowshipped for apostasy. So, his defense of the harshness of the impossible choice still presents people with an impossible choice.
There is NO way to leave the org without famimy and friends cutting ties to you. This is evil.

Jehovah Witness Wikapedia written by the same people who write the publications?
by thedepressedsoul ini took a look at the jehovah's witnesses wikipedia page for the first time and i couldn't help but notice it was worded very closely to how jw's publications are.
the good stuff seems to be very positive while the negative items seem to be very downplayed.
the talk of persecution is enough to get your average jw wet.

Maybe it should be changed and the RC's page of evidenced linked as the source.
how in the world are they putting stuff on Wikipedia that isn't well sourced since we know that the policy manuals are confidential. I know anybody can write anything, but at the minimum, their statement that elders do report even in the case of one witness should be struck for lack of credible source. In fact, the actual source that can be linked without DMCA says otherwise.

1) JWs proudly proclaim they have no clergy like Cgristendom. Quite hypocritical to then claim rights specific to clergy as a defense. R&F (or should I say laity) should know just how the higher ups view themselves.
2) Confession is not the same as information arising during the conducting of a judicial meeting or investigation.

I am not in favor of this. regardless of the lack of humanity the GB has shown to those who have suffered under their rule, I still believe mercy should be shown to them individually. I will still feel sorry for him even if he has caused such pain to others. I am human and so is he. -

This has been a cathartic event. I have become solidly convinced that any previous doubts I had regarding this organization as God's sole channel have been solidly proven. -

Don't bother him at this time. While the WT counsel's statement that he would not be useful is laughably ridiculous, he is attending to his dying father and we should have compassion for that. This is regardless of any compassion he has shown or lack thereof with regards to the policies he is implicated in. We should not be heartless nor inhumane in our pursuit of justice against those who may deny the same. Allow him to attend to his own issues. But he must ultimately answer for his involvement. -

Spinks implied, by his comments about Korea and mentioning court cases of Human Rights, that perhaps the Royal Commission had better think long and hard before taking this " oh so loving" organization on....
Human Rights..... hmmmmm, what about the Human Rights of the victims???
Yes, it's a veiled threat to the commission. I'm certain the commission is smart enough to have perceived it as such and I hope they take them to task heartily for it.
