This was the very thing that started my wife to wake up from the cult. Back in the 90's a letter was read were the WT wanted highly skilled people. Most of the skills they needed required a college education. She was upset. She told me out of one side of their mouth they tell you not to get a higher education and the other side they want highly educated people to run the place. When I was in the cult I never could understand why they did not want the friends to be highly educated. After all its the truth what are they scared of. Now I know why. But I always find it interesting they are always begging for people with skills that require a college education. They are just two faced. Totally ADD

Society putting out "Want ads" in BOE letters
by sir82 init seems the society has a severe enough shortage of help in some areas that it is asking for help thru all the us boes.. there is one recent letter circulating asking for volunteers who can work on a persian translation team to move to "britain".
elders are to track down anyone who speaks persian & english, and ascertain their willinglness to move to bethel in london to help there.
there's a bunch of the standard "in good standing" questions they are to ask, as well as immigration / citizenship / visa issues to work out.. also, they are looking for programmers who know silverlight & xaml to work on a project for software the rbcs are using.. .

Here is my 2 cents worth. I think the GB is not paranoid but they are using fear even more to make the R&F paranoid. When they have study articles in the WT that warns everybody not to trust anybody if they say something that sounds off beat to what they think the WT teaches. That creates a very paranoid thinking among the members. If you miss meetings, field service, don't answer at meetings you are getting a higher education on and on and on. It gets the R&F to think you might be a apostate and not to be trusted. If they could they would burn you at the stake. That is the kind of paranoid thinking the GB is creating within the R&F. I feel this up coming July WT will change things alot within the R&F thinking. Its very scary to me. Totally ADD

Did you watch R rated movies when you were in it?
by ldrnomo inlast night, i watched an r rated movie that featured violence.
at least 30 people were shot in the first 45 min of the movie.. while i was in and an elder, i watched r rated movies all the time just didn't talk about it.
so how many of you watched r rated movies even though "mother" said not to?.

Yes. As a born-in and a teenager at the time that was the only way I could see a women half naked. When I got married and had children we were both very careful. Now fading away at a rapid rate we both watch R rated movies. But we both do not like violence and the "F" word. I heard enough of that when I worked construction. Totally ADD

Both Misses ADD and I went. But we drove 150 miles to our youngest child house to see the grandkids and went with them. We will be moving in a week and this will be the last time we will see them for awhile. The Misses and I both said this will be the last time we will see a Memorial at the KH. Totally ADD

Prayers for my daughter, Ali, not a good update
by coffee_black inmy last update on my daughter was so good...but it didn't turn out that way.
she was cleared to go back to work, but with limitations... she couldn't lift more than 10 pounds.
her employer wanted her back but wouldn't agree to the lifting restriction.

Sorry to hear about your daughter. Both the Misses and I wish her well. We know the trying times you must be going through. So be sure to take care of yourself. Try to get enough sleep and do something every day to relieve the stress and eat properly. Your daughter will need a healthy parent at this time. We wish her well and hope everthing will work out. Hello and welcome hotiwitabody234. I am with wobble on this one. Think about it I to was born in 1950's. I am also a born-in. I have a high school education. On the learning curve with my peers I already falling short. My children born-ins their learning skill has fallen even more because of lack of education. Their children as born-ins will experience the same thing if something does not happen in their lives to change it. Lucky for me my children both have a high school education and both have 2 years in trade school. One child is now working on a bachelor degree. Both told me they will have their children go to college. Being in the cult causes many families to be disadvantage when it comes to education. I can see were those who speak serveral languages this WT will help but I can also see the those 3nd and 4th generation born-ins using it also. Good thread and welcome. Totally ADD

avoiding false teachers means "refusing to read their literature, watch tv programs that feature them, examine their web sites, or add comments to their blogs.

Termites Survey

Here in the south termites are bad. You have the subterrainian termites and the Dry wood termites. The Subterrainian come up from the ground with tubes going up block or brick walls into the wood of the floor or walls. These guys are white in color. Also need to go back into the ground for miosture. In the spring they have scouts that swarm out with big wings. Subterrainian termites can eat a house up real fast. The good news is just about any posion will kill them. The dry wood termites are slow eaters. I don't know what they look like. The can be lured in by light. All I know is you can have them for years with little damage but if you do find out you have them the only way to get rid of them is to have your house tented. Were they use a gas to kill them. Thats about all I know about termites. My suggestion is get professional help. Totally ADD
