  former unbaptized publisher, here.. i'm new to the forums and have hesitated for months to join this forum.

  i was raised in a jw family, and was never baptized, because one of my parents didn't think i should be baptized early.. my mother became inactive, but i eventually went back for social contact, eventually starting a study.

  i raised a few questions, only to find that the conductor would get irritated and defensive when my questions would get deeper into the topic.

  Welcome to the fourm. So many new ones. I am happy you never got baptized. This will make life so much easier for you. Depression seems to be the main theme in the Wt. Cult. Getting away from does help alot. Thank you for sharing your story with us. Take care. Totally ADD

  Local Needs Talk: Brothers must repair dents and scratches on their vehicles...

  so about 8 years ago, we had a local needs talk about dents an scratches !!!!

  it was given by the cobe and this guy was just your normal everyday elder.

  except he had his occasional pet peeves... like (you guessed it) dents and scratches on some of the brothers' vehicles.

  suffolk police say the couple found dead in their nansemond river drive home wednesday were victims of a murder-suicide.. they have been identified as lucy celenia perry, 67, and her husband dennis joseph perry, 64.. autopsies showed dennis perry shot his wife before turning the gun on himself, city spokeswoman diana klink said in a press release.

  Couple in their 60's with health problems. If they were born-ins or not, there was many years of being told you will never grow old and die. The Big A is just around the corner. Soon they find themselves getting old with health problems. The ask themselves why is this happening to us? Without a good answer they turn to some close friends and ask them why? Which in turn was told to trust in Jehovah or don't you trust what the GB says? Depression and despair sits in and because we believe the GB we do not seek mental help or even talk about. They truly had know were to turn when finally one day they both look at each other in this very deep depression and despair and decides to end their lives. I don't know if this is what happen but I do know because of the Cult thinking this is could have been the way it happen. How sad. Totally ADD

  when i was young there was endless speculation about "the persecution".

  i have very clear memories as a child sitting in the old kingdom hall in coatbridge hearing it talked about from the platform.

  it was a frequent topic at home.. sometimes there was lurid detail about what sort of torture "they" might use against us to make us betray others.

  Spot On DATA-DOG. If they had nothing to fear why are they goint to such great lengths in saying all these things? We all know the answer to that one. I remember when Ray Franz was df and the stuff the then GB was bringing out in their Maz. . It raised a few red flags for me back then. I only wish I listen to myself on that subject.   Experience regarding Elders being spirit appointed

  i was told recently about a situation where an elder did not get recommended to serve upon moving to a new hall.

  i think he left for a job.

  but, something internal politics happened in the old hall and he was not recommended.

  Who really is to blame for the marriage breakdowns?

  another young couple has bit the dust, in our congregation.

  that's close to 20.. we'll probably hear a special needs talk, and of course the couple will be counselled to get back together, and they are not scripturally free to marry.. comments will be made that it's is the fault of the younger ones, today.

  apparently younger ones are selfish, but, are they?.

  Many young men in the JW cult got their sex education from Playboy. Mostly because the cult made sex dirty and parents in the cult would listen to the JW cult. So many had a destorted view on sex and what a real women looks like. I knew many young married couple's that had problems in the bedroom. Funny thing was is was mostly the guy's. I knew one guy because of his mother pounding into his head as a child how God hated sex. When he finally got married he was so scared to have sex with his wife he thought god was going to destory him for it. This is a extreme case but you can see my point on why many marriages in the cult breakdown. This is just one factor. But mostly most of the problems usually end up over sex. Totally ADD

  My internet went out after I posted. So this is the first time I have seen all your comments. All your comments are very valid on how you feel. Like punkofnice I feel the scars are very deep in many of us. As a elder I would see all these people with alot of bagage they was carrying around. At the time I thought these people was being helped by what they was being taught by the Wt. Now I look back and see it was the Wt. that either caused the problem esppecially if they were born-in or ones who came in with the problems are keep from getting real help. High control groups like the Wt. convince the cult group they are the only ones that can help them instead all they have done is cause a close knit group with little contact outside their group which makes them more vulnerable to abuse. Which causes mental disease. I am happy for those who did escape the Wt. cult with little or no problems. But I just see many on this board who have some very deep scars caused by the Wt. Totally ADD

  There I said it. We are mentally diseased in ways that most normal people cannot understand. It does bare asking " What part did the Wt. have in causing this problem?" My answer is all of it. For many months now I have been thinking about this accusation the Wt. cult has been throwing around in their publications and talks at the DC. and all I can see is they are the main cause of it all. Countless accounts of child abuse, mental abuse and every other form of abuse I have read about by all those who come to this site. The deep scares they have left in all of us. Leading many to broken marriages, depression, families torn apart by the cult mentality and who knows what else. And yet the Wt. is not happy with just that now they are making us out like demons by their name calling. Making those who are still under their mind control even more frighten of us. And for us who have seen the light and are trying to put all of this behind us and working hard to become normal. But no we can't have that! Now the Wt. is still trying to control us by their wicked, depraved and impure talks about what they think we have become.

  In reality most of us are fighting with all we have to become normal again. But yet those scares are very deep in many of us and for most we know it will take a long time to heal from them. For me and my household we will rise above all of this and someday the path my wife and I have taken hopefully the rest of our family and friends will also see the light by our example.

  Let all of us raise our heads high and show the Wt. and say to the world. Yes we are mentally diseased because of the Wt. cult and we are fighting hard to become normal loving people who are productive world citizens. Not living for the future but for the present helping and doing good for all that knows us. I hope these thoughts will help all of us to see what insight we all have to help others. So what are your thoughts and hopes on fighting this mental diseased called the Wt. cult? Totally ADD
