  this week the focus of my byzantium studies is the iconophile/iconoclast quarrel, when people could be bashed etc for having the wrong belief.. one of the things i have to do is discuss the arguements used by each side, and i was intrigued (amused) by an argument used by st.john of damascus.. he asks the question: " who first made images?".

  My question is "How do we know that 90% of all their donations go to printing maz. and books and helping fellow JW during disaster?" That's a great claim to make but nobody shows the numbers to that effect. I can say I use 90% of my money to help the poor but if I don't show proof it only my word. They say we have no homeless JW on the streets but what it did not say is how elders will tell them to go to the local church to get food or aid. It's true families should help there parents or children first but many times they just will not help. When it comes to giving money to the poor in the hall that is always money collected from elders and MS to help them but also the one getting the money is told to look else ware in the future. There is no money fund in the KH for the needy. Jesus may have commanded go out and teach others but the example he showed was help others in need not placing a scroll with them. Totally ADD

  Don't write on you skin with a ink pen. Back in the 60's as a kid if you did you was going to die during the big A. Some how or another that was a law from god. All that blood everywhere. In paint, fertilizer, in food, don't suck the blood out of a cut or swallow blood after a tooth is pulled. Now who care's. Totally ADD

  minding my own business while pumping gas - this 60 year old short jw lady with fluffed bun styled 60's hair and her 30 year old attractive 5 ' 10 inch jw lady partner came straight up to me as i'm pumping.

  Great job flipper. I would have love to seen the face on the 60 year old. I am sure this is stuff she has never heard of before. I love her answer we trust the elders to take care of these matters. You got to be kidding. It just shows how unaware most JW are. The GB really has them brain washed. Maybe this will be their last cold call at a gas pump.   How Do I Explain To My TalkTherapist That JW's Believe They Will Never Die?

  i know for us exjw's that have awakened from this religion, it seems incredulous that we ever.

  could have believed we were going to live forever and never die.. not just never die, but never die, like i was raised to believe with.

  the millions now living will never die, garbage.. i said that to my highly educated professional therapist last week.. her eyes got big, and she said gently as to a child, "loislane, we are all going to die".. yes, i know that now, but that is not what my religion taught and i believed, for 60 years.. any thoughts on how i explain this lunacy to her?.

  At this point I don't think it really matters what you say on this subject. Just keep talking and talking about it all and finally one day it will all come together and make sense to your therapist and you. Then and only then you will be able to move on. I found talking and someone actually listening to you and how you feel really helps you to put all the pieces of your life back together. In the cult knowing about yourself and how you feel was not important. Only how the GB felt and wanted was what was important. You now have the chance to make things right again. So keep on talking and talking as the old saying goes "it will all come out in the wash". Good luck to you and thanks for all your help. Totally ADD

  Before Reopened Mind and I left I notice and said openly that mental illness was growing in the congregations. Our family as a whole suffer with it. I myself have had to work very hard to overcome the born-in thinking that comes from the cult. Our children are still under the infulence of this cult, one willingly the other though not in the cult still has very deep cult thinking. So their reasoning is warp when doing what they think is best. Cults like the Wt. have a way with playing with your mind and in turn when the mind is perverted your boy will respond to it in forms of sickness. Totally
