  Went to Clearwater Florida - Home Base for Scientologists

  business had me in clearwater, florida a few days ago.

  never been, but heard it was mecca for scientologists.

  as i was near this beautiful, old hotel .

  Good one Skeeter. I lived near Clearwater for almost 40 years. I remember a time when down town Clearwater had no Scientologist. About 20 years ago they wanted to build a parking lot but a very large and old water oak was on the site for the parking lot. The city made them move it. I am talking about a tree that was will over 100 years old with a trunk about 8 foot across. It made all the newpaper and TV news when they moved it a couple of blocks away. Than tree survived it. I think it is still going strong. Going towards Clearwater beach there use to be a restaurant on the left side where you could get all the grouper you could eat for a $1.00. That was in the late 60's. That place is long gone. My wife and I spent our first few nights on Clearwater beach on our honeymoon. Clearwater brings back alot of memories for me. Thanks for your insight. Totally ADD

  WT SHUNNING POLICY: What has it done, or could it do to you?

  hi y'all, this is mrs. flipper.

  please share your experiences with this, or possible consequences of being outed.. this recent controversy and resulting arguments all stem from people being outed - possibly losing friends and family because most jw's will blindly follow the watchtower's rules to shun them.. among people i know and experiences read here, the grief and loss caused by this is terrible, and maybe now is a good time to put up some experiences here, and put the focus on the worst villians of all - wt policymakers..

  My wife the other day talk to our youngest son on the phone. He told her he and his family was going back to the kingdom hall. She asked him so does that mean you will be shunning us? He could not answer her. Knowing him the way we do I think he will. The control the the cult has taken him over again. The best we can do is tell both of our boys we loved them and if they want to talk we will always be there for them. We feel they are the ones who have decided not to talk to us. NOT US. Emotional blackmail does not work with us. They can make all the excuses they want but it will be up to them to make things right again. Hopefully as they get older they will see what mom and dad have been saying is true. We can only hope. But for Mrs. Totally and I we will continue to move forward and make life better for us and for those around us. Thanks for listening Flipper. Totally ADD

  Why do the GB need a new Bethel compound if the end is so close? Here is the "official" answer

  as most of us know, the society is spending 10's of millions of dollars on a giant, state of the art, secluded bunker country club headquarters in very remote, isolated warwick ny.. the question that "some" have is, why?

  if armageddon is coming "very soon", why go to all that time & effort & expense?

  why have thousands of jws dedicating their time to this massive effort instead of the "lifesaving ministry"?.

  It does not matter where the GB hides. They are useless lackeys of the money machine the Wt. has become. The GB I guess have never heard of drones. I've heard they can find anything. What would stop the U.S. gov't. from using them on their compound. As the old saying says "You and hide but we will find you". That also goes in todays imformation world we live in. That one they do not know how to stop. Totally ADD

  found us some very good leads but surprise, surprise she came across someone i totally forgot about from my childhood.

Found us some very good leads but surprise, surprise she came across someone I totally forgot about from my childhood. The reason why was I was not allowed to be around them. I am now in contact with a Second Cousin, First Cousin and a Aunt. People who I never got to know because they were not JW. This alone has made me very happy and looking forward to getting to know them. They all live in ILL. close to were I use to live. Even if I never find my half brother this has become a truly great find. And brings a big smile to my face.

  So this is for you LoisLane. Thank you, Thank you and Thank you. I will never forget your kindness and interest in our search of my half brother. I was looking for one and have found half of a forgotten family. You have a friend for life.

  For all you lurkers who are sitting on the fence. This is a example of what true love is all about and putting someones interest first ahead of their own. Pushing a maz. in someones face is not showing someone love. Totally ADD

  ...i might drop in every now and then but i hope you all enjoy life, escape the watchtower(r) and live prosperous lives.. i can't say i contribute much here anyway (and i'm not attention seeking).. i'm just going to get on with life away from the constant reminder of the mistakes i made being a jw zombie drone.. i guess i'm just going to fade.......rather quickly.. of course i didn't need to make any posts here to disappear but i thought it'd be polite and very british to bid you all a fond farewell.. see you all sometime.....maybe.....maybe not.....maybe....... bye!.

  "Worldly" what does it mean?

  i have recently been using the expression "people not of our faith" and it shocks me to be corrected everytime by, "you mean worldly".

  i dont really like the word worldly because i feel it is a degrading word to describe people we love so much that we try to find them in the ministry.

  below are a couple of quotes from recent watchtowers that really give us the esscence of the word worldly as far as the watchtower is concerned.. janusz, who lives in eastern europe, became engrossed in his gardening business.

  When my wife gave a talk on Cults at our U.U. church many had no idea what JW mean when they say worldly. They all thought it meant they had a education and was a person who knew how to work with others in the work place and had a knowledge of the world. To say the lease they were all surprised.   Have the JC in front of the whole congregation. Then by vote of all the congregation come down with a course to go with the one who needs help. No DF or plubic reproof just loving help. According to what I have read in the bible the only ones who should be put out are those who have caused great disturbance in the congregation. Being open to everyone is what needs to be done. Also no children need to be present. This is adult stuff. Of course I know this is off the wall and does not stand a chance like a snow ball in hell to happen. LOL Totally ADD
