Sadly, when this all blows over, it will just be another WIN in the JW column.

"suppose that a doctor told you to avoid contact with someone who is infected with a contagious, deadly disease," part of the article stated.. Fred Franz's words - haunting JWs from beyond the grave!
by sir82 inas most people on this site have come to know, the "new world translation committee", the group claiming responsibility for the "new world translation of the holy scriptures", consisted of fred franz and a bunch of lackeys who did busy-work.
franz was the only one hwho had even a passing knowledge of biblical hebrew & greek.. the 7/15/11 wt's comments about "mentally diseased" apostates is causing quite a stir in the uk in print and online.
there are numerous threads on that topic on this board today.. the phrase "mentally diseased" in this context is a direct quote from 1 timothy 6:3-4 from the nwt:.

This might be interesting enough international news for the media to pick up on if there is a Dist Conv still going on anywhere.
I'm sure all the conventions are over in the US.
Often small town newpapers will give some news space to announce So-So-Small-Town Cong is going to Big City JW Assembly Hall for Circ Assm.
If you see that in your local paper, maybe a follow up with this news article from the UK......

Persecution comtplex kicks in and poor JW are being persecuted by the world, lead by apostates who are obviously under Satan's control. At present there is no shit hitting the fan.
I'm sure it will be spun as the Beast attacking Christ's Brothers.
Nazi German did the same thing and look how it lead right into Armageddon. (Oops, that didn't happen, did it! That was Old Prophecy.)

Could the JW's survive another 1975?
by i_drank_the_wine inthe only years that i'm aware of in recent history that the jw's lost numbers was after the 1975 debacle.
someone posted on another thread about the damage control they're doing with the new "generation" nonsense with an assembly part where one person explains the "new light" to another that isn't too sure of it.. if they're having to do damage control like this over something relatively minor in comparison to 1975 (just some more "new light" as always), how do you think they would hold up under another 1975-level "oopsy"?
people seem to get less and less willing to be locked into religious systems that just don't conform with the modern world as it is.. if the internet was around, how many more people do you think would have google'd "jehovahs witnesses" at some point in 1976, perhaps while alone on the computer after the world didn't end?

They are enduring another "1975" each and every year that passes.
That's why there is the exodus now going on.
2/3 of all born ins leave the religion and they don't even remember 1975.
Look at the 40, 50, 60 year olds (and older) on here who have left (at least mentally).
We are the ones who remember 1975.
WT is too smart to publish another such definitive date.
From now on it will always just be "tomorrow" (maybe); and imminent; and very, very soon.....etc

I suppose there could a number of sex abuse cases going on.
But the WTS would do its best to keep those quiet as possible,,they do settlements as quickly as possible to keep out of media.
Is there public knowledge of any big settlements other than the one reported in the mainstream news about 2007. Seems like it was for about $16 MIL.

Does not this qualify as Interfaith?
*** Watchtower 2010 6/1 p. 27 How Do Jehovah’s Witnesses View Interfaith? ***
Our Readers Ask . . .
How Do Jehovah’s Witnesses View Interfaith?
? According to the World Christian Encyclopedia, there are some “10,000 distinct religions worldwide.” Because conflicts between them have led to untold hurt, the concept of interfaith brings hope to many worshippers. They believe that it can engender peace and unity in a divided world.
The Bible encourages unity. The apostle Paul likened the Christian congregation to a human body, each member being “harmoniously joined together and being made to cooperate.” (Ephesians 4:16) Similarly, the apostle Peter urged his fellow believers: “All of you be like-minded.”—1 Peter 3:8.
The early Christians lived in a multicultural and multireligious world. Yet, when writing about the mingling of different religions, Paul asked: “What portion does a faithful person have with an unbeliever?” Then he warned Christians to “get out from among them.” (2 Corinthians 6:15, 17) Clearly, Paul was speaking against interfaith. Why did he do so?
The apostle explained that spiritual fellowship between one who is a true Christian and one who is not would be an uneven yoke, a misfit. (2 Corinthians 6:14) It could result only in harm to the Christian’s faith. Paul’s concerns were like those of a father who knows that some children in his neighborhood behave badly. As a concerned parent, he wisely sets limits on whom his child should play with. His restrictions may be unpopular. Under the circumstances, however, being separate would protect his child from bad influences. Similarly, Paul knew that being separate from other religions would protect Christians against their harmful practices.
In taking that stand, Paul was imitating Jesus. While Jesus set the greatest example in promoting peace among people, he did not practice interfaith. Many religious groups, such as the Pharisees and the Sadducees, were active during Jesus’ earthly ministry. In fact, these religious factions joined forces to challenge Jesus, going as far as to plot his death. Jesus, on the other hand, directed his followers to “watch out . . . for the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”—Matthew 16:12.
What about today? Is the Bible’s warning against interfaith still valid? Yes, it is. This is because differing religious beliefs cannot bond through interfaith any more than oil and water can mix simply by putting them together in a pot. For instance, when people of different religions come together to pray for peace, which god is being petitioned? Christendom’s Trinitarian God? Hinduism’s Brahma? The Buddha? Or someone else?*** rs p. 325 Religion *** (Reasoning Book)
What is the Bible’s viewpoint as to interfaith?
Would it demonstrate loyalty to God and to his righteous standards if his servants were to embrace in religious brotherhood those who themselves practice what God condemns or who condone such practices?...... “Whoever . . . wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God.” (Jas. 4:4) -

Has the Watchtower ever made a correct prediction?
by Fernando inin 1889 the wbt$ predicts in detail the spiritistic scheming priestcraft it would come to embrace (due to the harlotrous gb's insatiable lust for graven unnatural spiritual intercourse or prostitution with demons):.
"the underlying principle of the great reformation, to which all protestants look back with pride, was the right of individual judgment in the interpretation of the scriptures, in opposition to the papal dogma of submission to clerical authority and interpretation.
on this very point was the whole issue of the great movement.

Overlapping generation segment on the new Circuit Assembly program
by traveb inso there i was at the circuit assembly sunday morning with my eyes glazed over as usual when all of a sudden, bam!
a demo with two brothers talking about the new overlapping generation teaching.
the reason it took me by surprise was because it occured during the second talk of the sunday morning symposium, "sanctify god's name by your speech".

wow, im sure they are having a lot of negative feedback on this one ...
I can think of at least one positive thing about the overlapping generations fiasco..............
Those who can manage to do ANY thinking on their own, (you will regconize them as the ones with the dumbfounded look on their faces -- think of a deer staring into headlights) are going to GOOGLE to look for what other people are thinking about it and then their whole world comes crashing down..........OMG!!!

this thread will be updated with the results of the survey (for the time being at least) should you be interested.. in its first 3 days, the survey collected close to 400 responses.

Cedars is very new to this site and lacks much "history", in fact NO long term history with this site.
Any chance that going to an independent survey site conveys a person's IP address or other private information that someone who is fading might not like to have broadcast across the web to others unknown or untrusted?
Looking for an educated answer from a Techie.
No offense intended, Cedars. It's not paranoia if they really are out to get ya.
