DOC: We had a DO who referred to BOW-WOW blouses at the Cir Assm. Blouses where the sister would BOW, and everyone would say WOW.....

LifeIsTooShort: We must have had the same DO, he spent about an hour one Saturday at a Cir Assembly on the same subject. I was thinking what the heck why is he dwelling on this.

LITS: I think this was the same guy who went on and on with an extremely explicit talk about (not) practicing sexual perversions -- oral &/or anal sex.....explaining the real term for this is SODOMY (from SODOM and Gomorrah). Then he asks: Brothers & sisters, would you really want your Christian mate to commit sodomy with you?? Fortunately, there was no display of hands required.

I wondered how many sitting there secretly wanted to jump up and shout: HELL YES!

Many of us rationalized that once you got enough experience at it, you could no longer be considered quilty of practicing it.

jw's like to throw it in our face when we talk about the wrong things that the wt and the gb has taught.

they cite examples of david and moses.

My response to the comment that Jehovah uses imperfect men is - "which part of the Bible is incorrect then?" That leads into "why then can't Jehovah direct imperfect men these days to get it right in the Watchtower?"

They usually say stuff like the Apostles made mistakes. My reply is usually: 'Yes but they didn't print it in publications and preach it. They didn't disfellowship people that didn't accept it!'

I just was told they never claimed to be prophets. I just found the WT article (1974) where they DID claim to be God's modern day "prophet"(note the "---" brackets ) -- I guess I'll hear that "prophet" [brackets] means NOT really prophet [no brackets]....

But, having missionaries in 3rd world countries bringing in recruits does keep the numbers up and provides encouragement to the rank and file JWs.

Could it be that the numbers are dwindling so fast that it doesn't make any difference? Someone already reported on the 10% decrease in baptisms. Did you ever hear of circuit assemblies in the past with NO ONE or only ONE person being baptised?? It is happening now.

One of the Dist Conv talks spoke of a "culling work" going on within the Organization. If they're going to take a significant decrease, why spend tons of money where it doesn't produce any substantial monetary paybacks. A 20% decrease is no bigger deal to a 10% decrease. This is why I don't understand why they just don't have a "Get Out Of Jail Free" card at some point...... LET [THOSE] PEOPLE GO! The ones that want OUT.....let 'em out! Cease the shunning penalty and all that. It's causing more harm than good. It would get rid of the shit-disturbers and the one that cause them a bad name.

If you are a parent with school age kids, and they are being shunned by JW kids at school.......THAT is clearly bullying. DO NOT TOLERATE IT! It is religious discrimination. The kids who shun should be held accountable for it. By forcing the school to educate them, they will see the evil in the practice of shunning.

For the first time in my life I am really enjoying my weekends-especially Saturday. Now I go to the gym to work out, I go cycling with my kids or its breakfast with just me and my favourite girl. I feel as close as I ever have to her and it is largely in part to the advice I have read on this forum to replace the time that I would have normally spent wasted at the KH or in service and have some quality face time with her. This past Saturday was no exception; I got up early and cleaned all the windows and screens on our house then we went for a great breakfast and I said to my wife; “isn’t it wonderful to take a break and enjoy our Saturdays? She heartily agreed and said “I know that for the most part that the ministry is a waste of time but I go for the association”. I reassured her that if it association you crave then are much better ways of accomplishing that. I know it is going to be a long process but I know I can help her to “see what I see”. Even the small things like getting your weekends back and enjoying your spare time doing what you actually enjoy!!

There's a chink in the armor. Blinders coming off. ALOT of that kind of thing happening right now -- overlap, etc etc

Apparently the WTS feels that the public has no memory of the predictions and statements previously made by the WTS.

No memory of old predictions??? It's true!

The PUBLIC doesn't care. JWs just don't matter in the big scheme of things.

There are bigger things to remember, like....where did I put my car keys?

Current JWs mostly DO NOT REMEMBER. Majority of them are in 10 years or less. They only know about 1975 (and other dates) by what they are told by current JWs -- until they read it here -- then they are told everything here is all lies.

My close JW friend that I can speak to about my concerns says apostates alter the words of WT publications and then post pdf of it online. Said the same thing about Menlo Park court case docs. Altered court records to make JWs look bad.

Until the blinders come off there is no reasoning.
