Do You Believe In Polls?

when you hear that the polls say.... do you really believe it??.

i think polls can be and often are skewered.

i don’t trust them..

The Electoral College was designed to protect States' Rights. There would be no UNITED States without it as the smaller States would have never signed on if it was obvious that the larger (more populated) States would make all the rules.

Same with having two Houses of Congress. For any law to pass it has to be approved by a majority of the populace (the House of Representatives, based on each State's population) AND a majority of the States (the Senate, with each State have an equal say on the matter).

Getting rid of the Electoral College will bring about civil war as the conservative "Red States" will not tolerate being governed by the liberal, socialistic "Blue States". California, Texas, NY, and Florida would control everything. (Actually the 10 most populated States have over 50% of the US population.)

there were questions, but the psychological abuse prevented me from ever really getting answers.

The impeachment has become all about the Senate elections in November.

It is not about Trump. Trump WILL NOT be put out of office as that would take 67 votes (47 Dems/Indpendents plus 20 GOP) and there simply are NOT 20 GOP senators that will cross the aisle to vote against Trump as that would be political suicide.

However, in November, 33 senators are up for re-election and 19 of these are GOP senators with many in closely contested seats. The strategy on both sides is to gain (or at least not lose) any seats in the senate.

Will a vote for or a vote against bringing in witnesses do the most damage these senators? A vote to call in witnesses will definitely cost them some of the GOP base that they need for re-election. But a vote to "blindly" stick by Trump may cost them needed votes of independents. Be assured that the pollsters are working 24/7 to assess the answers to those questions.

Personally, I think the witnesses run the risk of inflicting more damage to the GOP cause than the risk of refusing to listen to them, thus I suspect the leadership will design a strategic motion to move this BS trial forward without calling Bolton or anyone else.

we're curious since in toronto alone there were fifty-three, kitchener there were a couple lansdown, elmira, renfrew by ottawa ect,, just wondering if someone has added them up.

Will God resurrect our beloved pets? What do you think?

the watchtower doesn't hold out any hope for us ever seeing our beloved animals again.

i find it very difficult to believe that god -- a god of love -- would refuse to resurrect an animal that we had become so attached to.

over the years i have bonded with no less than four (4) dogs, all of which were/are like family to me.

Global Entry / PreCheck at US Airports

for those who travel, such as attend international conventions (lol, i had to add a jw thing into this thread), do you have the precheck thing for the airports?

this is the thing where you go in a separate line and don't have to take your shoes off and do all the things that most people do.. it does cost money, about $85 for 5 years.. but for those who travel internationally, the global entry thing is well worth the money.

for only $15 more ($100 total for 5 years) it includes precheck within the us and then entry back into the us without the typical long lines at customs.

We have had Global Entry for 5 years, which automatically also gives us Pre-Check. Just renewed GE (which was very simple too). LOVE BOTH!! Yes, it's so much more convenient to bypass the long lines. It's worth it to us as we travel internationally multiple times every year. It's especially great if you fly into a large US airport on an international flight (ATL ORD, etc).

jp -- 50% of the voters may say that, but the system to convict him is more like the Electoral College. The Blue State voters don't count.
