My wife eventually "saw the light" (NOT the New Light) and the entire family is "out".

how do spouse's treat their partners if they leave the cult?
by mickbobcat inso i was fortunate enough to have a wife that listened and saw what i was saying was true and that the cult is bs.
but i wonder how bad it is in a relationship that one goes out of the cult and the other stays in.
i can see that being a real issue for a marriage.

Attorney evaluates latest Trump Lawsuits (LONG)
I found the time to sit through most of this. This guy has changed his tune from saying all the suits lacked evidence to this one may get traction.

I believe the only goal was to get to the SCOTUS in an expeditious manner, and that's where it is going.
Will it gain any better traction there is yet to be seen.

73 years old, a Witness for 48 years, an elder for 24 years, Baptized just before 1975. WOKE UP!
by pistolpete ini thought i would post an encouraging experience i found today.
i've been seeing a lot of 70-80 year old jws waking up, and their children are posting their experience on reddit.
these are old elders, pioneers, circuit overseers who have given their everything and finally at the end of their life, are walking away.. maybe the key to waking up is that a person has to have a deep sense of right and wrong.

So What Religion do You Claim to be when Entering Hospital?
by mikronboy ini've had a few medical procedures.
once, i had a massive loss of blood and needed 6 units of blood to replace the loss.
however, i'm curious as to what ex's state to be their religion when filling out the required paperwork when being admitted into a hospital.

I selected "NONE" however the hospital records had "JW" stored from over a decade ago. Thus I had to make it clear to every attending physician that they did not have to be concerned with that. I was worried that having to make a big deal about it could cause gossipy staff to talk about it and work its way to any JW working there.
Computers never forget.

I think there are many older ones that see the problems. My 80+ year old mother does. But they are in a more difficult position than younger persons. It could be much more difficult for older ones to re-establish a complete new network of "friends" (even conditional ones like the JW's). And they likely have no other network -- ie, school or work.
I've mentioned on this board some of the interesting comments I've heard from older ones in the past few years.
"I think those guy in NY have gotten something screwed up."
"I guess I'll have to make it to the New World via the Underground." (Coming to the realization they were indeed going to die, but couldn't just come right out and say the bOrg was wrong.)
There are many who discreetly say things within their close circle of friends that they feel they can trust, but they know better than to be too vocal about it.
These older PIMO's are really a "drain" on the bOrg. They need assistance from the younger members and in most cases they are respected and younger members will help them with assistance with their home or transportation to doctors, etc. At the same time, they are cutting back on their contributions because they came up when "Free, Free, Free" was printed on all the literature, and they remember that the (old) bOrg would "never beg for funds" unless the bOrg lost Joe Hoover's blessing. They witnessed the bOrg win 49 cases in the 1950's with the SCOTUS but now they hear of endless losses and settlements in CSA court cases.
It's no longer the Organization they used to know.

What useful piece of literature have the JW produced?
by HowTheBibleWasCreated inseeing on another post here about former jws throwing away literature.
i am curious as to the various opinions on there value.. for me i have been inactive for 3 years almost 4. i still have alot of books and of course all their bibles ever produced (except a few from the 1800s.).
in my opinion i think there are four books the jws produced that are useful:.

Did you notice that anything held in esteem is decades old? I think all those in the Writing Dept then are dead, DFd, or have gotten the hell outta there.
None of their new milk-toast writings have any significant value. Listen, obey, and get f***ed!

They produced an abundance of literature that is useful to show that they are False Prophets.

Hopefully that State has changed its laws regarding reporting abuse.
