Frankly, while fear is a motivating factor, I don't think it generates long-term commitment as love does. It's sad they have to resort to this method of motivating people -- especially younger ones. Eventually, hopefully they will learn that whatever they were fearing never happens. All the GB does is "cry wolf". There never really is a wolf (just as Armageddon really NEVER comes.)

It appears to me that the GB is aware of the fact that they are losing the confidence of many active JW ‘s. Thus the need for all the “damage control" that we have seen taking place.
I believe one reason for the lost confidence is that they have also lost their "mystique". By appearing so much on JWTV, they have been seen as anything from mere mortals to absolute buffoons. And of course, it doesn't help their image when they put forth things like "overlapping generations". A true WTF Moment!

sometimes i would wonder why they remained as elders or even witnesses because they were successful men who made a good living and were highly respected because of their qualities.. that is a rather small group.
most elders that i know of aren’t the brightest bulbs in the sky.

Back in the day, when I was first appointed (prematurely ) to the BOE there were a bunch of elders that were indeed smart. They had intelligence, worldly experience prior to becoming dubs, and management ability to handle the cong. ~ BluesBrother
I think all of those elders "have left the room". I'd like to think of myself as one of them.
We are all here. We are now all Ex-JWs.
Only the dumbasses are left running the show. Thus the need for video meetings pre-recorded by Bethell-ites.

by adjusted knowledge ini work at two separate hospitals and most of the rns i work with have stated they won't take the vaccine.
i've read a report that 1/3 of rns will refuse the vaccine.
for those in other countries do you see this being an issue or is it more an american phenomenon?.

I can see why there are some concerns. Especially about the Pfizer vaccine which is an RNA vaccine. RNA vaccines are a new thing. It's my understanding that none of our previous vaccines are RNA vaccines.In the USA these multi-billion dollar Big Pharma businesses have been granted immunity from lawsuits for injury resulting from the vaccines. If they are so f***ing safe and tested, then why the provision of immunity granted from Government?
Read up about them people before you make such blanket decisions.

by Beth Sarim inthe breaking news in canada today is the rollout of the pfizer/biontech vaccines.
perhaps we can put this pandemic nightmare to bed soon.. i hate to rain on the parade, but we yet are not clear of any allergic reactions, side effects there might be as they roll out.
but, just have to wait and see...to state the obvious.
