The mark of a true Jehovah's Witness is their lack of love.
Isn't that what Jesus said?
Oh wait! Maybe I have that backwards.
wt has really been doing a great job at mind-controlling their members.
how can people who say they are your friends not even want to know why you're leaving when you want them to know?!
eh!

hi everyone i’m a pimo elder ex bethelite and pioneer who has been having doubts for many years.
as of late i’ve come to have even more doubts mainly due to the gb pushing the vaccines and acting like salesman for big pharma companies .
i will never take these vaccines even if it meant i couldn’t go to the hall as was previously said but the gb have done a big u turn on this now.
We have a close friend who suggested that we "Just Fake It". They believe they are "using" their association in the Borg for their own benefit. Good friends. Sure they are "conditional" but as long as they see you as part of the IN group, the ones that are your friends will be there for you. If you "fade", they'll eventually abandon you. Our friend is pretty well off financially so they are in the clique with the "beautiful" JW crowd -- you know, the ones who take cruises and go out to the nice places, and wear nice clothes, and have boats and pools etc. And.....they are generally pretty "moral" people (don't debate it, you get to pick who you run around with) and thus are not crude or rude, etc.
Frankly, we do miss that "association" thing. We had LOTS of JW friends while we were IN. But we just cannot see "faking it", even for that. I'm sure that when some dumbass thing was said in the WT Study or "Bible Study" I'd get caught rolling my eyes or I might even LOL at some of the puke they're serving up these days. Then it would be the "Back Room" ass whooping or inquisition. (I guess I'm too much of my "authentic" self?) Additionally we have discussed that we would feel guilty if others who had doubts decided to stay IN because they saw that we "believed" -- so it must be OK. (Did you have some JW's you looked up to that way?)
But the final straw is: You have to do what is good FOR YOU.
i’d like to marry my best friend of 30+ years, turned ‘secret’ girlfriend of 1 ½ years who is a jehovah’s witness, born into it, baptized and an active ‘pioneer’.
our marriage would happen prior to letting any of her jw friends and cohorts know that we are together.
once married she may simply come forward and ‘admit’ or we may wait until it’s found out – one way or the other, the reason for this marriage is not customary – i am hoping that by doing so she can avoid being ‘marked’ or possibly ‘disfellowshipped’ once our relationship is no longer a secret and due to our already being married at that point, there can be no notion from society elders about her ending the relationship.

a news article has the headline of " ‘case closed’: 99.9% of scientists agree climate emergency caused by humans"; see https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/oct/19/case-closed-999-of-scientists-agree-climate-emergency-caused-by-humans .
the article says in part the following.. 'the scientific consensus that humans are altering the climate has passed 99.9%, according to research that strengthens the case for global action at the cop26 summit in glasgow.. the degree of scientific certainty about the impact of greenhouse gases is now similar to the level of agreement on evolution and plate tectonics, the authors say, based on a survey of nearly 90,000 climate-related studies.
this means there is practically no doubt among experts that burning fossil fuels, such as oil, gas, coal, peat and trees, is heating the planet and causing more extreme weather.. a previous survey in 2013 showed 97% of studies published between 1991 and 2012 supported the idea that human activities are altering earth’s climate.. this has been updated and expanded by the study by cornell university that shows the tiny minority of sceptical voices has diminished to almost nothing as evidence mounts of the link between fossil-fuel burning and climate disruption.. the latest survey of peer-reviewed literature published from 2012 to november 2020 was conducted in two stages.
we had a nice long talk and i brought up some things that make me think that this isn't the "truth" and she somewhat agreed with me.
i stuck with things i personally experienced or had knowledge of plus all the changes in recent years.
she agreed on a lot of the points but still believes in god and the bible.
We are adjusting, right now we have zero social life or any clue how we would go about getting one. ~ JW Rogue
That is probably the most difficult thing we have found in our transition. Frankly, it is NOT easy to make friends. As JW's making new friends was easy -- with other JW's. Life-long friends (right?). Friends closer than a brother! That is until you start asking those questions you are not allowed to ask. Then all those friends just "evaporate".
In the real world, there usually has to be some "connection" that draws people together as friends. High school friends. College roommates. Workmates. Clubs. Charities. Even support groups. Seek out people who have similar interests. Our newest circle of friends are people we met at a restaurant/pub we all frequent. You just have to be genuine and sincere and take an interest in other people.

It makes me sad to think of the lives that have been squandered pursuing this form of religion. How many brilliant minds were herded into menial jobs instead reaching the potential they might have otherwise with some mentoring?
I agree that this is the greatest "sin" of JW's/WTS. How many individuals who had great potential in life have given all of that up to sell books and magazines to make the Religious Fortune 500 Corporation rich and richer?
SAD. (NOT Special Assm Day) LOL
lot going on.
i had a covid divorce last year over zoom.
not pretty but i got a good deal.. anyway,.
Lots “celebrating” via Zoom but only a handful with their camera & mic active. Lots musta been passing their own personal “emblems”.

Personally, I'd have never acknowledged that I was reading this thread.
me i slowly came to see religion was a crutch we use to dream of a better "afterlife"....i feel half my life was wasted building an organisation that had no criminal mastermind behind it...just alot of mislead people looking for leadership.
if your still religious explain why..
I believe in religion. I believe religion is a Snare and a Racket.
Regarding GOD, I’d really really like to believe but frankly there is insufficient evidence. The fact that the distance between the earth and the sun is “just perfect” for life as we know it just is not convincing “evidence”. The Evolutionists are more convincing if you look with an open mind.

I'm not only amazed that Cedars is still plodding along, I'm also amazed this string of posts is plodding along as well. He stepped on some fingers on his way "up the ladder" and those people remember that. But as someone mentioned the Swaggart scandal and I suspect he will survive even though there will be some continued fallout.
