my brother worked at a grocery store at 16 years old.

he would miss tuesday's ministry school due to his work schedule.

A long time ago, in a world that now seems so far away .....one of our kids who was still in college pursing their doctorate (and working part time, but attending all meetings and even going in Field Circus) had the desire to get baptized and made it known to the CO. Knowing these circumstances the CO asked to have a chat with our kid. This CO was one of the new school COs and I think he had plans to create an assembly experience of how a young person gave up education to pursue spiritual goals. Basically, the chat was "you can't serve two masters -- you can't do college and baptism" and he expected our kid to bail on college to qualify for baptism. With one year to go to complete the doctorate, that was not going to happen. The word to the CO was "that resolves that..........The End isn't likely to come this year so there will be time to do both."

Thankfully there was an awakening before the matter of baptism ever came up again. I can't thank that CO enough for his "help".

if you're just leaving the witnesses or questioning and toying with the idea of leaving..... life goes by fast.

and either you rip the band aid off and deal with it or let it fester and eat you alive.

Disillusioned JW, I think your suspicions are correct. I think most of us here were pretty devout believers for a long time. Which is why it took a lot for most of us to get “disillusioned”. I know I had lots of issues that nagged at me through the years but I simply “compartmentalized” them (or buried them) until there was that “final straw” moment and everything crashed. I finally had to realize/accept that it was all BS. No hocus pocus Holy Spirit directing things. No Shekhinah Light revelations. Over 40 years baptized and 10+ years as an elder. Walking away from all that was emotionally painful. The loss loss of all of our “friends” was especially rough. But fortunately we walked away with our immediate family unified and intact and lost only a few “fringe” or more distant family members. Replacing the network of friends has been the most difficult challenge. In JW World everyone is an automatic friend (tho that friendship is conditional regardless of how close you might think they are). Good luck to all you faders!

The greatest revenge is living a happy and successful life!

Memory Lane and Brooklyn Bethel

It's damn near unrecognizable TO ME and I'm not old enough to be your grandfather!

Seems the only things that do not change or have not changed are WT's bad policies. Instead, they tighten &/or worsen (ie.e, the blatant conduct catch-all). I suppose in attempt to maintain control. Information control. Peer control.

I've heard that stated, but I've seen nothing that would suggest LE actually HELPED the Cult. I do have to admit that I think he probably assisted in the "wake up call" for some JWs. JMHO

Do I think he is a "nice person"? No!

Does appear he is trying to capitalize/profit on his advocacy? For sure!

Were the Watergate hearings also just political theater? Tricky Dick made the mistake of staying loyal to his friends who f**ked up. No evidence he had any hand in the planning of the break in. It was the Cover Up that took him down. (Now, our Pols don't even have to cover up shit. The MSM does it for them! IF they are Democrats.)

How about the impeachment of Bill Clinton? ---- Most Definitely. Bill getting a BJ is just morally corrupt. Now, the Clinton Foundation Money Scheme, THAT's corruption at it's finest. But when Hill didn't get elected it fell apart. But no one cares about that.

You know that feeling you have in your gut when you learned you have been conned for years by the WT Borg? For me it was, How could I be so gullible? or How could I be so blind? Why did I give so much of my time, assets, and "blood" for this Cult? I think probably everyone here knows of what I speak.

I wonder if it isn't the same with the folks still carrying on about LE? Did he dupe so many and "abuse" so many, and they just cannot "let it go"? Did he "cut" them so deeply that it's a really long healing process?

I never got on the LE train because he was such a "windbag". He could always ramble on for 2 hours over any issue that could have been explained/exposed/beaten-to-death in 10 minutes. Guess I was lucky. (I mean fortunate.)

Rates of PIMOs in bethel as apposed to R&F

I never "served" at Bethel. But I was an elder for many years and I was involved in the Borg politics at the Circuit and District level. The higher you go, the more evident is all the politics and bullshit. I would not be surprised that someone at Bethel sees a lot more BS goings on there than the average R&F JW lapping up the Koolaid.

It is merely a televised theatrical spectacular that is completely 100% politics. This same group of "concerned" politicians who want "the truth" to be revealed totally ignore the Biden Crime Syndicate, BLM corruption, and other "lefty" radicals (like Auntie Maxine and her calls for violence).

I thought Trump (2016) would be a joke or else a RINO (since he had plenty of rubbing of shoulders with the Democrats). But he was (as anyone would have been) the better choice over Crooked Hillary. It was the best 4 years of governance (as well as prosperity) I've seen in decades. I truly believe he wanted to "fix" America. I can see no greed (unlike the Biden and Clinton families) in his presidency. He served 4 years and accepted no salary -- something no other president has ever done -- even the rich ones.
