Jeffrey Jackson: Too much excitement got in the way for the ''false dates''
by RULES & REGULATIONS inannual meeting 2019—talks and 2020 year textthe governing body members are nothing but a bunch of weasels.
here is a talk by jeffrey jackson on how the governing body ''the slave class'' has remained spiritually awake over 100 years and alerted its members.. he looks back on the ''faithful and discreet slaves'' false dates over the 100 years: '' but at times, we look back over 100 years, and there were times they got excited about a certain year or time, and the end didn't come at that time.''.
he makes the comparison between the ''slave class ( who disappointed others when the end didn't come ) to a barking watchdog ( who in his enthusiasm barks at nothing in the middle of the night and wakes up the owner).

So what happens next...
by Farmer Jim1 inwith what is arguably the biggest change to jw life in recent decades (the scrapping of publishers counting hours) what does this lead to?.
in my mind these are the results;.
1) a massive decrease in 'preaching hours'.

I kind of doubt they have any concerns about the ones that are leaving. Most were not likely contributing anything for some time. WT is more concerned about losing contributing members, vs losing hanger-on's that were (if anything) just a drain on resources.
We know of a young couple who were awakened to TTATT who gradually went from PIMO to POMO. As long as their regular continuing monthly contribution was made via the website, no one noticed their "fade". When they canceled their long time contribution, the elders were immediately calling to attempt a shepherding call.

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

You can buy cameras designed just for this they can be as small as and in the shape of dice from a board game. Just drive past in the early hours and set them facing the houses. They are motion capture so only start recording when someone comes in or out of the door. Battery lasts for days.
Likely they and/or the neighbors have a Ring doorbell that will catch you in the act.

Lines you would never hear from a Jehovah's Witness
by Ron.W. ina slightly tongue in cheek, but also serious roundup of jw speak and why trying to reason with them is like trying to chip through concrete with a plastic spoon.. how many can you think of??.
elder: 'yes.
i read through the material you asked me to at your judicial meeting - you're right we're both in a cult!

"Do you think the guys up there in New York have made a mistake [in their predictions about The End Times]"?
Years ago you would have never heard such a thing. More recently, I think it's being heard, though in a whisper. I do know of one longtime elderly JW who asked that on his/her deathbed. Faithful until death. Sad. A life wasted.
Another one having to enter the Paradise via "The Underground".

I do not see any further watering down of the Blood Doctrine. It is already at the point that if a person agrees to a transfusion in a life threatening situation (weakness) all they must do is say "I'm sinned and I'm sorry." and does not become a matter for a judicial committee. And if a person will not do that, then they are considered as someone who no longer desires to be considered one of Jehovah's Witnesses (DAd). Only speaking against the doctrine (apostacy) will get you DF.
They do not want any claims of violating human rights.

JWLITE
by Teddnzo ineven elders can be part of the new jw lite brigade these days.
they don’t need to go on door to door anymore and there is no requirement for anything really.. taking meeting parts is all dead easy you could turn up on the day with zero preparation because it’s all in the meeting workbook.. quarterly elders meetings are just old men having a good old natter just like old men do down the pub.. congregations could be likened to pubs or bars these days just without the drinks, those come at other times.. no need for territory maps, these almost went away with covid letter writing now they are extremely slow getting finished as those who still go door to door only do ten mins.. you could even voice your questions these days about things the gb say and then just say “we can’t be dogmatic we just don’t know”.
i predict they will say this about 1914 soon..

No more shunning, birthdays are a borderline just call them happy days ~ Jehovaxx
They just had a WT article about using a birthday event to "witness" about why they do not celebrate them. Still, I think a lot of R&F do exactly what you suggest -- kinda "don't ask, don't tell".
But on shunning I see no softening EXCEPT in their public statements. The policy of shunning is causing them a lot of grief in many countries, so they are trying to "have it both ways". In public they proclaim that they do NOT shun, but in reality we all know "the truth" of the matter. Many in a very personal way. WT is going to try to spin it as a "personal decision" of each member. They no longer want to be seen as instigating or promoting or even requiring any family member to be shunned. It's Bad Publicity for them, and more and more often causing legal issues.

I don’t know weather I take their lack of interest as an insult, or as a blessing, as I allowed me to slip out the back door with pretty much no effort. ~ Joe
That has pretty much been our experience too. OH! I feel the love! haha It's kind of amazing how quickly they will kick you under the bus.
MissDaSilva -- I agree with Joe that it has proven advantageous to have avoided any formal expulsion as opposed to have simply faded into the "stumbled and inactive" status.

Broadcasts, Are they just a distraction?
by KerryKing inthe recent broad casts about not handing in time sheets, and then about beards, especially the beards, it seems so trivial, are those talks only released in order to distract the followers from the recent court case they lost on spain, from the csa cases, the kh sales and so on?.
i reckon they're taking their lead from the media, distract and divide tactics..

DesirousOfChange
The broadcasts are the basis for WT's "expansion" and their need for more and more contributions. Remember, the need for new Kingdumb Halls is seldom mentioned, but there is that BIG construction operation to build studios for their "video business".

Some sisters decide to stop shaving legs, underarms, etc.
Change that "some" to "VERY FEW".
Sexual objectification is still very much alive in our society, and JWs are not exempt.
Take note of most couples as they go "out on the town". The lady is "dressed to the nines". Hot little black dress with lots of cleavage and lots of leg with CFM heels. She's accompanied by a guy who is wearing his Sunday best pair of designer jeans and (wow) a long sleeve shirt with a collar and with sleeves rolled up once and either a nice pair of boots or very pricey sneakers.

spirit directed organization
by enoughisenough ini was watching a video about wt and money and the "brother" refers to the "spirit directed organization.
" he also says they use donations wisely and modestly.
are the gb so deluded and therefore their followers?

Call me gullible, but at one time I really believed that JW's were "spirit directed". I really believed that the Holy Spirit "moved" BOE or, for that matter, any official gathering of brothers to "miraculously" come to the same correct "spirit directed" conclusion (I know it's effing stupid to even write this out now).
I prayed for guidance. I thought everyone did. And, I thought as a collective body, we got it.
Now I know people see what they want to see. Just as I did. I wanted to believe that. So I did. In reality, there is no voodoo magic to it. At best, just a bunch of guys trying to do the right things. And often you do not even get that.
Then I took the RED PILL.
