Don’t you know that your family members made their own conscientious decision to quit associating with you of their own accord and without any undue influence from others.

as far as their family members are concerned, normal family relations continue with the exception of spiritual fellowship.”.

Prediction: no more changes for a long while
by slimboyfat ini’ve noticed a pattern where things don’t go the way i expect them to go and/or whenever i realise there is a trend and, i mentally adjust for the idea that the trend will continue, the trend stops in its tracks.
so on that basis, and given many people, including myself, and active jws, have been asking ‘what changes will the governing body make next?’ perhaps the (disappointing) answer is: ‘nothing much for a while to come’.
maybe they’ve made the changes they want for now, and will wait a while and see how it’s received.

The Borg is putting greater emphasis on young persons. Young guys are being appointed as MS earlier. Now that there is no 10 hour minimum in FS being tracked by FS reports, it will be even easier to promote less zealous young guys. At MS/Elder meetings when the CO comes through, contributing is a focus. I recall it being said that this group alone (MS/Elders) should be contributing enough to carry the expenses and any thing from others was "gravy".
That really makes an impression on young MS who is striving to be promoted to Elder.
I am not sure, but I suspect that with the new online donation arrangement, they know how much you are giving. I know for a fact that they know if you cancel your monthly tithe and will call to check on your "spirituality".

When JW.org drops 607BCE...
by Nathan Natas inprobably everyone else thought of this long ago, but i, being an "independent thunker" thunk of it just a coupla weeks ago.. we all know that since the year zero (on the fredfranzian calendar) the wtb&ts has defied archaeology and insisted that jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce, even though the physical evidence shows that 587 bce is a more likely date.
in fact, the book "the gentile times reconsidered: have jehovah's witnesses been wrong all along about 607 bce?
" by carl olof jonsson and rud persson made this conversation public.. it is a difference of 20 years.

If they ''scrap" ANY of the above. The Borg collapses.
I think they can announce New Light on any of those issues "above" and the majority of the R&F will just smile, nod, give praise to the Lord and the GB, and go right along as normal. (See below.) Nothing is going to "collapse".
Sure, you might have a little fallout, but by and large, people here think too much. There are not any "thinkers" (or at least not many) still in. The PIMOs might quietly bitch a little, but they will remain as PIMOs because it is to their advantage to continue to do so (or else they'd already be POMO).

If the dropped flies/debts are piling up they can't hold off long throwing out more treats to the lock steppers/social members. ~ LV101
Does anyone think that these new changes/adjustments did anything to increase contributions?
I just do not see it being any motivation for kicking in a few more bucks.
If I understand it all correctly, WT just kinda set an expectation of contributions from each Cong to be $10/pub/mo. which really is not all that much. I know of a couple single JW's each contributing $100/mo who really cannot afford to be doing that, but they do it (and feel guilty they are not giving more) and they do without other things. I don't see where beards & slacks will be any kind of incentive to increase the contribution. Thoughts?

The verdict is what first awakened me to how racially divided this country was.
Every African American friend/acquaintance that I knew felt that OJ was innocent and vindicated. Although one friend even said that if he did do it, the b!tch deserved it anyway, and he figured that any white celebrity would have gotten away with it.
Every white American that I knew, felt that OJ was guilty as hell, and got away with murder. I know I would have convicted him, regardless of race.
"If it doesn't fit, you must acquit!" ~ Johnny Cochran
He was worth every cent (reportedly somewhere between $3 million & $6 million) that OJ paid for him.

But I was a regular pioneer and didn't want to get married until I was 30. . .
Hopefully that helped you avoid making the same dumb mistake some did at 17 just so they could have sex according to WT Rules.

Murderous Jehovah's Witness bludgeoned female customer before leading meeting. Spiritual paradise?
by Balaamsass2 in1/31/2024 in the strange but true category.
confused holy spirit appoints killer servant.
"" a twisted jehovah's witness bludgeoned a woman he rowed with over incomplete building works to death with a hammer, then merrily whistled as he packed up his tools and went to lead a service at the church where they met.

You just wonder what in the world it could possibly take to make people at least question the appointment arrangement when something like this happens.
Aw, shucks! You are forgetting that they are just imperfect men and can make mistakes........
(But you damn well better OBEY them!)

Watchtower hires off-duty law enforcement
by Diogenesister inan indignant law enforcement officer wrote kim & mikey to let them know watchtower had placed an advertisement on a facebook page dedicated to law enforcement staff only, looking to hire a fully uniformed and armed officer at $35 per hour.
the commission was for the memorial in a specified texan venue.. the officer was particularly miffed at the hypocrisy considering the terrible way law enforcement was portrayed in the 2018 convention video, where the jws had been herded into a field to be slaughtered by a large group of officers.
not to mention the fact they are only too willing to call police for their own protection, yet won’t do so when it comes to protecting children from potential or actual abuse.. https://youtu.be/-rpcsztnvyo.

I don't know how I did not see this 5 years ago.
I don't have the time to watch the full video at the moment to learn the details. I suspect this is the action of some rogue congregation and its alpha elder on the BOE and was not done with Mother's blessing.
