after carefully evaluating the my current life situation, i've come to the conclusion that returning to the hall will be best for me.

i simply just don't fit in with the rest of the world.

i don't drink, smoke, have sex, go to clubs, listen to worldly music, watch movies, or gamble.

DesirousOfChange: Interview a few members of mainstream religions. You'll quickly discover that most religions are not apocalyptic, millenarian, destructive mind-control cults. People can come and go as they please, choosing one denomination over another, without radical changes to their social circle and their family status.

Tho not actually "interviewed", I have been involved in some social groups where I have met and become very good friends with several persons who are devout in their beliefs (of various other religious demoninations), including even a Catholic priest. Not only have I seen that they are truly "good" people, but they are less judgemental, just as sincere, kind and loving as most anyone I have known among JWs. Certainly, they do not deserve everlasting destruction just because they have not bought into a small religious sect. They are not just religious people, but are spiritual minded people, who believe they are doing all they can for what is good for themselves, their family & friends, and others in general. How could they ever be considered among the "wicked" who will be destroyed, I cannot imagine.

PP, whatever makes you happy. I look at JW's the same way I look at most other religions, just with a little more cynicism. Knowing what you know about the religion, If you think you'll be happier going to meetings and fraternizing with JW's, more power to you.

I agree. People on here complain that they are ridiculed by JDubs for leaving. If PP has made the conscious decision that he gains more good than harm by attending meetings, give him a break. Quit ridiculing him for his decision. Some posts have been nasty. A person has to do what they think is best for them and their family. All of this is not an easy decision. It might be easy for those here who were FORCED OUT (NO decision) and have no desire or need to return. To even come here and bother to explain it all was a bold decision when you have already learned how most here feel about the Org.

Resigned

i finally resigned as an elder.

my conscience wouldn't allow me to continue.

i've battled for years trying to reconcile the fallacies of the wt society with my own personal beliefs.

I would also like to acknowledge those who called me out as a hypocrite when I first joined the board. I thought I could stay in a high role of service and somehow be a source of balance and refreshment to those who were being weighed down by the pressures of conformity and never-ending increased service to the Org. That plan wore me out quickly and caused more mental and emotional turmoil than it was worth. In retrospect, I feel like I wanted to use the "power" of my position for some sort of good. But it was hypocritical to pose as one thing while secretly harboring my own plans behind the scenes. That brings no good to anyone. So for those who felt that I was living a lie and should step down...I was...and I did.

Franklin Massey, I understand your thinking completely. For years, I thought I could influence things from inside better than anyone could from outside. And I think I did so on a local level. But I don't think any one individual will have any influence at the top. Only $$$ (loss of it) and membership (loss of it) will maybe open any eyes. Once they see that they are losing control of the majority of believers, they might be forced to make some logical changes. So far I don't think the exodus has been sufficient to sufficiently awaken the sleeping monster. As long as more come in than go out, they'll still call it increase. Especially, if they only quote the number of increase (and not speak of the DA, DF, Faders, Inactive).

I saw Elders who were supposedly under the direction of the spirit commit incredible wrongs and continue to serve.

Especially if they were in the right clique'. Porn. Fraud. Embezzlement. Tax cheating. Boozing, even DWIs. The only true "sin" is SEX. I have not seen an admission of adultery/fornication "forgiven" and someone continue to serve. (They just don't admit it.)

Speak to a supervisor or a manager about what you're facing at work. Don't walk in with an accusatory tone, don't name names, just sit down and calmly ask your boss for clarification about policies related to swearing, sexual talk and the like. Be open about wanting some help and suggestions about how to improve the situation. Even in the average blue collar work place, those kind of behaviors are not acceptable and can create what is considered a hostile work environment.

Oh, yeah! That will get you a lot of good recognition in a "blue collar" environment. That's just what some foreman or project manager needs is to be dumped on by some wussy new guy who can't handle the F-word etc etc. That will REALLY make a guy some points with management!

That is unless you're a woman. They those kind of questions will get management jumping through their @$$ worried about a sexual harrassment suit.

i've always liked tatoos and disagreed with the wt's stand on them.

i just turned 42 on may 14 and think its about time i get one.

nothing drastic, just a small lilly flower on my left shoulder.

We had a friend who had a tattoo of a small rose on her breast when she was in her 30s. By the time she was in her 50s it was a long stemmed rose.

I can honestly say that, in trying to resolve my issues, I did things by the book, at least in the way the Society has set out for appointed men. I am a born-in with lots of family and friends in the Org. I wanted everything I believed as a JW to be right. But I was wrong and I had to face it. I am drastically reducing the amount of time and energy I put toward the Org. I don't know where I'll end up in relation to JWs but as for now, I'm heading toward a low activity/partial fade status.

I feel (share) your pain.

i see her facebook page, all of her pictures has cleavage in them, i would not want to date her because she shows too much all the time.

i am tempted to tell her to cover up her cleavage, she might not like me telling her that.

If God is backing you and his spirit is more powerful than Satan's why are there so few JW's compared to the Bilions of earths inhabitants?

Yes -- Why does Satan have a better & more successful Public Relations team than Jehovah God does, since the WTS has only been successful in helping 1% of earth population see the Truth? The salvation of only 1% of humankind is contrary to what the Bible specifically states as God's Will at 1 Tim. 2:3,4.

Since WTS claims to be directed by God's Holy Spirit, does that mean that the Holy Spirit (God's Active Force) is not as strong/powerful as Satan's? OR, does it suggest that they really lack God's Spirit?

Since WT claims the growth within the Organization is evidence of God's spiritual backing (support), why does not the fact that other religious groups have successfully attracted more followers (believers) provide evidence that they have even greater evidence of God's backing?
