certain forces appear to be trying to make sure donald trump never runs for president again.

some republicans are clearly abandoning trump and of course the democratic press has been saying trump is done!

I think Trump will continue to be a huge influence in the Party. I think he will play a role in the 2022 elections for congress and I expect him to especially attempt to "overthrow" GOP House members that shunned him.

If he suggests that he might form a 3rd Party for the 2024 presidential election, that will shake up some in the GOP because they know they cannot win a damn thing if the Trump base deserts the GOP. (Not that the GOP will ever win the White House again with Dominion managing the vote.) Otherwise don't be surprised if Don, Jr. tosses his hat into the ring with Hawley and Haley and 20 other wanna-be narcissistic candidates.

i know a lot of witnesses that drink a lot!

secret sins people would confess to the elders were masturbation, dating and touching certain areas and anger issues.

some fathers/husbands looked like model figures until you heard from the family that the dictator ms were horrible at home in more ways than one..

Clearly, there is a lot of over-drinking. I mean by JW standards. By "normal worldly" standards, the drinking most JW's do would barely get a 2nd look. Most things in our society revolve around getting a drink.

After becoming and elder, I was shocked to learn how much hanky-panky went on -- even between Cong members. Friendships just often went "too far". It's the same kind of thing that happens to "worldly" couples who become overly "friendly". (Can you say Hot Tub Party?)

More recently, I am surprised by how many (usually fringe) JW's have a Medical MJ Card. Hard to believe they didn't occasionally cop a buzz even before it was "legal".

as a jw did you have a pioneer sister/elder's wife who was the biggest busybody, self righteous, arrogant pus in the circuit?

who would look down on others and treat people like crap.. without giving to much away, i experienced one that knew everyone in circuit.

and if she or her husband saw or heard something they didn't like it was " you know what the bible says" regardless if it was in there or not.

Governor Cuomo, Mass Murderer?

what term would you use for a governor who enacts policies that directly cause the deaths of well over ten thousand and then covers up the death count for fear of prosecution?.

Sounds like a good class action case.

Hopefully they can bankrupt Cuomo (tho probably immunized by the State from any monetary damages).

Sure would make a bigger hole in the NY State budget. (But Slo-Joe and the Ho will bail them out.)

Saving Money While Stuck At Home

here in canada, our energy costs are going up because we have a carbon tax.

today, in the middle of the crisis, trudeau is raising it by 50%, probably as some perverse "thank you" to all the truckers delivering vital goods.

Gotta admit that we have saved a lot of money this year -- no traveling -- not much eating out -- etc

Our Amazon spending is up and I think our booze budget is just totally trounced. I think I'm making the trip to the liquor store for our monthly supply about twice a week now.

Honestly, we did decide to pay our mortgage off early with the cash we accumulated. Now debt free and ready for the economic collapse ahead.

Do exJws Easily Accept What They Are Told?

we were told that we needed to accept whatever we were directed to by the governing body and elders.

eventually we rebelled and left the organization.

do you think former jehovah’s witnesses seem to question authority more than others?

Maybe in their past they easily accepted some things. But once they rejected their long-held WT beliefs (for whatever reason) they are more likely cynical about accepting anything at face value again.

James -- then I suggest you pass over those topics. You aren't mandated to read it all.

Frankly, there isn't much being said about JWism. I guess the JDubs are really really in lock down, because they aren't stirring any BS currently. You'd think AM3 would be running low on scotch by now and sneaking out of the compound. I wish SOMETHING/ANYTHING would happen as this place has become a little "slow" (boring) with nothing to read about.

I just considered that this lock down may greatly benefit the bOrg as it keeps the R&F JW from "mingling" with the ordinary folks and even more so the disenfranchised JW that might help them do some critical thinking.
