  a friend says the wt gives a substantial sum to retiring cos. he says one bought land and built near him, a desirable rural area.

  i think it must have been saved green handshake money or inherited.. btw this man also thinks the gb are the smartest men alive..

  That's an interesting story you share. How can you explain a guy who is serving the Cult in that high of position whom is supposedly believing and definitely espousing (to others) the concept that The End is "immanent" -- any day now -- but is storing up a shit-ton of CA$H? It seems obvious that he never really believed it. He was devising his "Plan B" all along -- just in case nothing happened. Clearly no real faith in Joe Hoover's promise!

  i was on a jw page recently and some dubs were openly predicting the end of the world in a year.

  mike flynn (trump advisor) mentioned having one religion in america and the dubs went crazy.

  someone even mentioned 1975 on the thread.. it seems to have since been deleted; but there were about 50 comments before i couldn't find it again.

  i was listening to the co talk to my wife’s congregation on sunday and pretty much the complete talk was justifying doctrinal and organizational changes and pretty much preparing the ‘rank and file’ for upcoming changes.

  anyone on hear have any insight of what ‘new light’ is coming in the future?.

  after watchtower got banned in russia and buildings seized, lot's jws said russia would be punished.

  org kept losing in court with child abuse cases.

  Isn't it obvious?

  When the WT won dozens of cases before the US Supreme Court following WWII, it was an indication of Joe Hoover's blessing. So what is it when WTS is now losing (or being forced into settlements) on dozens of court cases around the world, including many, many for their failure to adjust policies on dealing with those who sexually abuse children? Couldn't Joe Hoover have foreseen this coming? Couldn't he have divinely directed his bOrganiztion leaders to head this off before the $HIT hit the fan?

  If the favorable court cases in the 1940's and 1950's were indicative of divine blessing, what else can all of these losses indicate but that WTS/JW's have lost God's blessing and He is using the Nations to discipline them?

  i ask this now because i have been living in this town for the past 14 years and the circle of friends i have now i have never let on i am an ex jw.. i`m talking about 30-50 people at least.. not that the subject has ever really come up , but i think they would be shocked / amazed that i was a ( i hate this word ) a "devout" jw for 32 years going around knocking on peoples doors trying to convert them to the religion .. yet every now and again i get tempted to.. how say you ?.

  if i wanted to dissociate what would be the procedure and is there any gain in doing it so long after i left?.

  When I was Cong Secretary (as mentioned by BluesBrother) the rule then (over 20 years ago) was to destroy Publisher Record Cards older than 8 years. That has changed. They now hold on to the most recent PRC indefinitely. By doing so, they can claim you as a "member" even after being inactive for many years should you do something that provokes them to want to disfellowship you.
