We attended the 50th anniversary of a couple that have been friends of the family for years. (I even dated one of their daughters.) At the party we learned she was 65 years old and he was 75 years old. That means at the time of their marriage she was 15 and he was 25. I believe they were from Arkansas. (US readers will get that.)

if not, why is satan able or allowed to mislead so many more (imperfect and) perfect humans than angels?another question is: if god "does not desire anyone to be destroyed" (2 peter 3:9), why does he allow satan to be able to mislead 99.9% of people since he knows in advance that "many, i tell you, will seek to get in but will not be able" (luke 13:24), and "the number of these is as the sand of the sea" (revelation 20:8), and "go in through the narrow gate, because broad is the gate and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are finding it" (matthew 7:13, 14)?

JW's Lifesaving Ministry results in 1/10th of 1% of mankind being saved.
1 Tim 2:3-4 says: "3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."
Jehovah certainly needs a different PR representative as JW's are doing a pathetically poor job at accomplishing his will.

it is the wt lawyers reply in the trial where deborah hines accuses wt hierarchy even governing body members of continuing to employ a known child abuser, her own dad, at bethel because he was indispensable to them in video-production.
the slimy wt excuses start on page 7 of 28 where, as far as my non-legally mind can understand, the wt lawyers say the governing body can't get sued because they're not a corporation, nor are they mandated reporters of abuse, meaning they don't have to say anything by law even if they know a crime has occurred.. the slimy wt lawyers are also pretty good at playing with words to hide the fact that the governing body does run the business of the watchtower but from behind the scenes.

I did a little research. Only 28 states seem to have mandatory reporting laws for clergy. New York is not one of them.
I think this did, in fact, occur in New York, did it not? I can see where that would let WT off the hook legally, but they still could be sued in civil court for damages, and especially if it was ongoing after being reported. Let the Court or the Jury decide.

If a "sex scandal" involving a BILLIONAIRE NFL OWNER blows over (pun intended) in a manner of months and all charges dropped and evidence ordered to be destroyed, just how long and with what amount of "publicity" do you think this deal with Lloyd Evans is gonna matter? The answer is: NOT AT ALL.
Why? Because no one gives a sh!t about JW's (as long as they aren't getting awakened early on Saturday).
Those same people who don't give a sh!t about JW's, care even less about EX-JW's.

Most JW's do not join the ranks because the JW Doctrine had appeal to them. Most JW's do not even know nor or able to explain or defend JW Doctrine. They have been accustomed to having all the "research" on doctrine done for them by the GB/WTS.
It's when one of those JW's has someone poke a finger right in their eyeball that they begin to wake up to the "lack of love". HEY! Somebody poked me in the eyeball! That ain't nice!
Then they rush to Google to find some backup for the fact that they don't feel loved anymore. Well, wasn't THAT easy!!!! In the Top 10 one is sure to find Lloyd espousing his views of why WT is bad and hates you and reminds you that WT just poked their finger right into your eyeball.
Then Lloyd gives them what they are accustomed to getting -- spoon fed. They don't have to do any work. They don't have to actually research anything personally. GB/WTS BAD! They even poke people in eyeball!
And that's the Big Deal.

A two-word response to this elder comes to mind: Prove it! How can that elder prove the Governing Body are trusted by Jehovah and Jesus.
Do ya recall when JW's winning of Court Cases (49 of 50) following WWII was "evidence" of Joe Hoover's blessing? So what does it now mean when the JW/GB are getting their asses handed to them repeatedly in all the CSA lawsuits? It's costing them (I mean, their contributors) MILLION$ and MILLION$!
Should they not be prostrating themselves in ashes and sackcloth beseeching why it is Joe Hoover has abandoned them?
