We were encouraged by a PIMO friend to not fade, but rather fake it, so that we could enjoy the benefits of the brotherhood, and to just ignore the issues organizationally. (Yes, I think the R&F are predominantly good, sincere people.) However, we felt that by giving our passive support or approval might convince others observing our stance that we were still true believers and they should continue on as such also.

JWLITE
by Teddnzo ineven elders can be part of the new jw lite brigade these days.
they don’t need to go on door to door anymore and there is no requirement for anything really.. taking meeting parts is all dead easy you could turn up on the day with zero preparation because it’s all in the meeting workbook.. quarterly elders meetings are just old men having a good old natter just like old men do down the pub.. congregations could be likened to pubs or bars these days just without the drinks, those come at other times.. no need for territory maps, these almost went away with covid letter writing now they are extremely slow getting finished as those who still go door to door only do ten mins.. you could even voice your questions these days about things the gb say and then just say “we can’t be dogmatic we just don’t know”.
i predict they will say this about 1914 soon..

A Coin With a Remarkable History
by cofty inover the years i have shared a few examples of objects i have found while metal detecting near my home in northumberland in ne england.
i live in a rural estate that was the site of a medieval village with a manor house and defensive tower.
many of the things i find illustrate the amazing history of the location.

Why is the Faithful Slave Now Admitting Ignorance?
by Vanderhoven7 indbm writes on the question: will sodomites get a resurrection?.
i guess it depends the date that you asked this question.
here is a screenshot from a video which gives an overview of the changes (new light) on this question:.

First time seeing anything from Berean pickets channel. It certainly offers a bit more “class” (for lack of a better word) than many other YouTube exposes’ about WT.

Current light on will die at Armageddon?
by Teddnzo inmy wife zoe and i often talk about her grandmother who has never been a jw but is an excellent christian by other opinions.
she has led such a good life always kind and tried to follow jesus example.
before the agm new light my wife often thought according to current light is that as long as she dies before armageddon she will be resurrected.

The fact that she's in her 90's almost assures that The End is Near (her end), so it likely won't matter what choices she makes in her religious beliefs.

Jehovah will expose all of it in time. ~ EasyPrompt
The courts will certainly expose it all ~ NotFormerBased on Habakkuk 1:2-4, I think we'd better bet on the Courts.

Kingdom Ministry School that lasted for 2 weeks
I remember my dad going in the late 1960's. It was in Pittsburg and Albert Schroeder was one of the instructors. Everyone in attendance was in awe of Judah Ben who was just a child then.
How many elders do you think would be attending KM School if it were still a 2-week obligation?

Pornography in the Marriage
by LostintheFog1999 inthe magazine that they are studying in the congregation this month has an article at the back about how pornography in a marriage could damage the relationship.. there's one piece of advice that sounds rather scary, the wt suggests that the couple should "consider asking an elder with whom you are both comfortable to sit in and guide your discussions for a time.".
how many of you would want an elder present in your home while you and your partner discussed your personal sexual cravings and the type of porn videos being watched?.

Has anybody ever heard of this in their local area
by joe134cd ini heard of a jw wedding that:.
(a)wasn’t done in a kh, and was performed by an elder.
(b)the ceremony was done on a sunday.. i find this surprising for 2 reasons.

Any young couple who confesses to fooling around before the wedding is banned from using the Kingdom Hall. I know of a couple cases where the actual wedding was moved to the reception venue because of that. Others, I think, might choose to be married elsewhere if they don’t want to be stuck with JW music only. Let’s be honest, the new JW songbook sucks.

My conclusion on the matter
by ExBethelitenowPIMA inafter being brought up a jw, going to mts, bethel, pioneer school multiple times, serving in foreign assignments and having been an elder for decades my conclusion is that i am now pima, physically in mentally agnostic.. agnostic means you think it can’t be proven either way creation or evolution.
i do tend to lean towards evolution but creation at the very start because you can’t get life from dead matter.
but i’m open to the possibility of chance theory at the origin of it all.

I realise [sic] I don’t have a strong faith in the Bibles promises but I do have hope. . . . . If you believe the chance theory there is no hope of anything better. You have maybe a few decades left of this life and then that’s it you’re dead. No purpose to anything. Life is meaningless. ― ExBethelitenowPIMA
I think the worst realization upon awakening is coming to terms with the fact that there likely is no Sky Daddy who will "make all things right" in the future. Injustices will never be corrected. Those who are "evil" will not get what they deserve in way of any kind of "divine punishment".
At least I do not see any evidence to convince me otherwise, although I would love to see such. I would love to be able to believe in that former "hope" that I once had. But I see no advantage to believing in what I perceive to be "false hope". Still, I don't think that means there is no purpose to life or that life is meaningless. It is what you make of it.
And then............."that's it, you're dead." And I think I have adopted the attitude of Mark Twain.
“I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.” ― Mark Twain
