New light on shunning?
by Mikejw inone theory why tony was booted out was because he was a stickler for not changing the shunning doctrine.
he actually said the words we will never ever change it.. they are slowly deleting all of tony’s videos and now losing court cases and losing government hand outs in places like norway.. it’s looking very likely they will release new light on shunning policy after losing this latest one in norway.. .
what are the odds they coincidentally get new light from jehovah and lighten up their shunning policy ?.

After just reading the post on the decision in Norway, it appears to me that it is the shunning of minors that violates the new law.
IF WT does choose to make some kind of adjustment to get the decision reversed, I think it will only involve a change respecting anyone under the age of 18.
Perhaps they will reinstitute some kind of "Probation" that will "mark" the minor (vs DF) that will be reviewed when they are 18 years old. The "probation" will not require shunning by R&F, but will only require limiting association as they do if someone is "marked" as bad association. Upon review at 18, if the person is judged as repentant then probation will be lifted and they will be announced as being in "good standing", or if they have not been a good little boy or girl, they will then be DF.

NORWAY Verdict : The Aftermath
by raymond frantz inhttps://www.jwupdates.com/post/watchtower-will-take-norwegian-defeat-to-echr.
few norwegian religious communities need to worry after the jehovah's witnesses verdict, according to legal expert vibeke blaker strand.
he has pointed out that it is particularly serious to deprive a religious community of its registration.

. . . we told them that we could not keep accepting these donations. . . . . [if it means that we must compromise on God's Righteous Standards].
I think that puts a little better "spin" on it.

Radical shake up
by Mikejw inimagine if all the governing body resigned and a new set of brothers came in and said we are very very sorry for all those who have been disfellowshipped and disassociated over the years.
we know many mistakes have been made.
we are really genuinely sorry to all those who have been hurt and especially those who have died and been hurt by these mistakes.

If they had the balls of their predecessors and genuine, authentic integrity, they would say all that, word for word, and damn the consequences.
Isn't it obvious that they no longer really have faith that they are given divine protection from above?
They now have greater faith in attorneys and public relations experts.

Could you see the GB deciding that DF/shunning would only apply to those persisting in their "sin"? Or, only to those actively speaking against "The Truth" (or the "glorious ones")?
I do not think that relaxing the position on the shunning of those who no longer persist in their sin or who do not actively "oppose" the religion would have much of a harmful effect on the Organization.
Anything and everything there is that is negative about WT/JW's is already at the fingertips of anyone with a computer or a smartphone. Most JW's are ignorant of the negative stuff because THEY WANT TO BE IGNORANT OF IT. For most of them that attitude will never change.

I think sometimes we doubt anything/everything we hear/read from WT which is not really the case. Not only does that support the JW claim that apostates lie about things, and thereby may hurt the credibility of those who are trying to expose some real WT falsehoods.
It reminds me of the photoshopped pic of a GB member sporting a beard immediately after the removal of the ban on beards was made public. How many times was that circulated only to be later proven to be false?
It really is not necessary to spread falsehoods about WT/JW's. There are enough issues that are "real" to be exposed.

Does The WT Keep Files On ExJW Activists?
by NotFormer init occurred to me that the wt, if they can identify the activists that are currently campaigning against them, would have a lot of ability to compile detailed dossiers on them.
once identified, the elders of the appropriate congregation could be asked to forward copies of all their membership details held locally.. would they do that, and do such dossiers exist?.
(there are probably data collection rules governing such things in a lot of countries, but by no stretch of the imagination could the wt be considered a good corporate citizen).

Set a loyal brother to the task of checking up on apostates, and before long you might have a fresh apostate on your hands. - Tonus

JWs in Norway lost to the state - will not get state support back
by BelisemDeBelimakom intranslated with google translate:.
the trial went before oslo district court in january, and now the district court has concluded that the state is acquitted.
jehovah's witnesses are also ordered to pay court costs of just over nok 1.1 million.. https://www-vg-no.translate.goog/nyheter/innenriks/i/2bljxg/staten-frikjennes-etter-aa-ha-blitt-saksoekt-av-jehovas-vitner-melder-dagen?_x_tr_sl=ka&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp.

Groups or businesses or religions do not have basic human rights. HUMANS do.
Nicely said, Lady Lee.
For many years, WT has felt they are above Cesar's laws because they are God's representatives (government) and are only subject to what they perceive as God's Laws. They have always believed that HE would "protect" them and they would prevail.
All those successful cases before the SCOTUS in the 1940's-1950's, while certainly historic and even critical in establishing religious liberty in the USA, have no meaningful consequence regarding the new charges coming against them from all directions in our society today -- especially from outside the USA. At one time I believe those old cases may have been studied by law students, but I doubt that is the case any longer. And again, that has no significance elsewhere (despite what narcissistic Americans might think).
WT -- you better wake up and grab your A$$ET$.
