The worst happens.
by Vetro insay, a woman is going in for colon surgery, it is already known by most of her doctors she has several pychiatric illnesses, along with more than several medications for it, it's also obvious she's a bit slow and not very good at understanding concepts, she's a jw baptized, her husband is baptized, used to be a elder and is no longer practicing, the wife refuses blood, but the husband seems anxious, unnerved about this, he realizes something isn't right about the wt, but can't quite break free, he doesn't want her to die if she need something like blood, but can't convince the wife, the rest of her family will be there, all ex witnesses including her children and mother who was a witness, she signs the form refusing blood.
during surgery the worst happens, she starts bleeding, it doesn't stop, it gets bad enough even volume expanders won't keep her barely alive.
will the surgeon just let her die without alert the family what is happening and maybe keep his oath to protect life and perhaps allow a chance at her husband to make a decision to allow a transfusion, or will he just let her die as her deluded wishes dictate and tell the family afterwards?

Hey Vetro, so incredibly nice to meet you. Sorry that you are having to face this situation what else is there to say. If the husband feels this way then he can talk to his wife about it privately, ultimately it is her choice wether anybody agrees or no. An opinion can be shouted but she will decide what it is she wants. The best advice I can offer & I confess I have never been in this situation so I`m not speaking from experience, is to say just be as supportive as you can be. I do so hope that everything turns out well for you all. SABIN -

Deaf Aotearoa flooded with complaints about Jehovah's Witness church
by OrphanCrow indeaf aotearoa flooded with complaints about jehovah's witness churchkashka tunstalllast updated 15:22, october 6 2015deaf aotearoa has asked the jehovah's witness church to respond to claims of a deaf information database.new zealand's deaf community is fed up with unsolicited house calls, claiming the jehovah's witness church is targeting deaf households.deaf aotearoa has received multiple complaints from around the country and says church members visited certain homes because they were aware a deaf person lived there.
the organisation released a statement on monday, saying it was looking into the possibility the church holds a database listing the details of members of the deaf community.jehovah witness spokesman rod spinks said there was no such database and deaf people were not being targeted.the deaf aotearoa statement was posted on the group's facebook page, and received a flood of comments from frustrated people.one woman said a group of jehovah's witnesses had come to her house and asked "for the deaf person who lives here.
" she said they refused to explain how they had her details and didn't visit her neighbours.another said church members had turned up at her work and asked for her by name.hamilton man royce flynn said he had been visited six times over the last nine months, despite repeatedly saying he was uninterested in the house calls.he said the church members were always able to sign and also brought deaf people along, which lead him to believe he was being singled out.flynn said contacted local police, who told him it was a privacy issue and referred him on to the office of the privacy commissioner.he said he had been been in contact with local labour member of parliament sue moroney.deaf aotearoa acting chief executive jill dean said complaints about the church were a recurring issue.

Well isn't he the liar cause we all know that they do document where the deaf are & they are targeted by the witnesses & certain one`s do go learn sign language purely so they can go to these one`s houses. I expect amongst themselves the jdub`s will be saying the deaf community is persecuting them. -

JWs and Education
by cognac inmy parents were always of the belief that, "the end is right around the corner".. i was a zealous kid, with a learning disorder, so my parents never gave me a hard time or pushed me in regards to my education.. this not only hurt me, but, pissed me off insanely.
fast forward to me having my own kid.

Cognac, Has she had her eyes tested, hearing test? they would be my thought. Then see what personality type she is, creative/academic. Believe me I got a girl in her 20`s still writes like a 5yr old but can put a wedding dress together with no pattern & another who was top at everything academically came out of school with an UAI of 90 when the average is 60, but hells bells I don't want her to make me a cup of tea it`s not just that it tastes crap, it`s the mess she makes as well. My point is kid`s are different, got their own unique talents let her teach you what hers are then go that way. The key here is help her be happy with her achievements, that's what I`d be concentrating on. Outer confidence is all well & good but if it`s not tempered with inner then she will struggle no matter how well she does because she will be doing it to make you or others proud & not for herself. You can put this in to place even now by saying things when she shows you her work like " are you happy/pleased with your work?' if she says yes then you say " that's what matters, as long as your happy then so am I" You could also look at something like Montessori that is an excellent way to teach there are activities that you can do to help her hand eye co-ordination & get both sides of her brain active. Games, drawing & cooking, sewing ,clay, cutting & gluing, tracing all these things are probably more important at her age to learning then sitting down copying letters & numbers. Children are amazing if you stop trying to mould them into what you want them to be & let them show you what they can be. Don't panic if her behaviour is good then you are one step ahead of a lot of parents. -

You have to admit, the carrot is pretty alluring.
by John Aquila inthere were several families that were visiting my mom today and i was sitting in and just listening to all of them talk..
they started talking about the recent shooting at the university.
and its so easy for them because all they have to say is;.

I have to say I think you are bang on John, I know for myself it was all about seeing an end to suffering for children especially having grown up watching the Ethiopian`s starving had a profound effect on me, the seals being culled & shit parents all played it`s part. Still does I suppose in a way, I`d still like to see an end to it all, all the bad thing`s that is. What I find so sad about most of the JDub`s though is that they make the one`s suffering now nothing more than collateral damage, I mean it`s like some-one dies & they just say " oh well, they will get a resurrection" they make life cheap. Or the other one that drives me mad is when there is a natural disaster all they care about is were there any JDub`s hurt, other people can die cause now they will have a better chance. There`s no thought for the poor families that are left only if they have a bible study then of corse we have a thought for them. It`s bullshit, wether you believe it or no, the attitude of a lot of them is really heartless bullshit. That kid has been raped "oh well, Jehovah see`s all". So we can go on smiling & not really caring. -

Thank you Simon. Drugde, you will find lot`s of letter`s being used to shorten things on this forum, I often struggle to work out what the heck people are talking about, it`s good to get in a habit of asking some-one will always explain for you.
So what brings you here, or are you the same as a lot of us, incognito?

Hello Drudge, it`s so nice to meet you. Welcome to the forum. Xmas lights a, that`s hilarious. I know JDub`s that get up 4 in the morn on xmas day to get their spot on the beach so they can spend all day in amongst the worldles. I know JDub`s who have xmas at other times of the year just so their spoilt little darlings don't miss out on anything & believe me these kid`s get so much more than the worldly kid`s get. Shower parties where the only thing that is missing is the birthday cake. Where I live everything is about the showy display of ones means of life & what it looks like to others wether worldly or no.

1) Abuse of authority. Use of position for their own benefit, often financial justifying themselves with a we deserve it attitude.
2) Blind Obedience. Must be obeyed before God. They deserve worship.
3) Segregation. Withholding info to all except a few worthy individuals. Estrangement from anyone outside the religion, family/friends this includes shunning, alienation, or persecution.
