Stuckin, my husband isn't a witness so he has a different mind set. That's the biggest reason they are being so careful with me now. He is the nicest guy you could ever wish to meet, these bastards have pushed all his wrong buttons. Yesterday we were doing the garden he told me in no uncertain terms if they come down the path i'm to go in & shut the door, he would be dealing with them. He wont put up with no shit from them.

If a child is subjected to watching porn the brain is psychologically traumatized in such a way that it is as if the child were being literally abused, so if that is the case then i would say it stands to reason that a child or even a young adult is being subjected to a JC & being forced/coerced to give explicit details of a sexual nature that could lead to there being ostracized from friends & family then yes it is psychological sexual abuse. What is also shocking is that a large number of elders actually believe it is their RIGHT to know these details. Their RIGHT. Now just where did they get that idea from. Certainly not the bible. When i was in my late 20's & went to my JC about reinstatement my husband, bless him just would not allow me to be on my own with 3 men. When our daughter went to her JC my husband went with her, when she was asked overly personal details that made her uncomfortable she told them "it's not your business to ask me that." As far as i'm concerned they still went over the line, thank God hubby wasn't in the same room (which was our daughters choice) he would have punched them on the bloody nose. The Borg takes the right's of the parents away, & to many of them allow it. Yes i think maybe the ARC has thought of these things, but i also think that they have so many people who are JW's contacting them now with issues that it will take years to get through all the info. Lets be honest, on this issue the GB have made the pope look like a saint. -

by prologos inshould a teen, a child of a believing mother, cooperate in the fact-gathering of the elders into the waywardness (not sex related, hopefully) of some local teenagers?

I think it depends on the situation, the parents & the elder in question. there are still some elders out there who are probably good men & only desire to help. Yep, most are ares holes i grant you, but how many ex elders do we have on the forum & i'm willing to bet some of them really had a care what happened to the young ones. Kept things confidential. As a parent though the main responsibility should fall on your shoulders. When it comes to grassing others up, most teens clam up, cause their lives are made miserable. -

Feeling A Bit Down Today

i'm not sure about you, but i occasionally get those days where i feel a bit down, as if i have no friends.
i do have a number of great friends, though, and am very thankful for them.. i think it might have to do with the residual programming of having a "worldwide brotherhood".

Big Hug. Yes i have those days also. I think sometimes we imagine that we are missing out on something, that the jdubs are all in their gang having fun when we are alone. The truth is they are not, they in general are miserable & blame the world for all their problems. If you listen to them for 5 mins can you pick up that they are trying to convince themselves that they are happy more than anyone else. -

Evaluating the problem of sexual abuse of children within the JW religion, why, how and for what reason
by Finkelstein inthis topic has come up many times before on this forum and others but i think its worthy to reevaluate where and how this problem exists from an analytical perspective within the jw religion.
it is obvious that the wts has been covering up situations of child sexual abuse with careless irresponsible apathy for decades toward both possible victims and potentially identified perpetrators of this socially repugnant crime.
following guidelines as written in the bible which were emulated and exploited as a self protecting guideline to protect the outward image of the organization overall in spite of known acknowledgement that pedophilia is a serious crime in most countries.

You know what you can go round & round in circles trying to work it all out, the why,wheres,& how's. The bottom line is this, the WTBTS is full of child abuse, sexually/physically/mentally/emotionally & they as an organization couldn't give a flying fuck.
Rutherford lived in luxury while all around him people were starving, did he care? NO. Did he do anything about it to help ease the situation for others? NO.
