i was in for 10 whole years.
there were 5 meetings per week (i just got out before bs was dropped), preparing, travel, socializing after meetings etc.

Re your wife, I look at the situation as if the brainwashed person is an addict. An alcoholic, for example, won't admit he needs help or that anything is wrong until it clicks in his own mind. Someone who is still in and devoted can't see or understand the logic of the REAL truth. It will take time and lots of patience. I'm sure others on the board in similar situation will be very helpful.
You've got to try to create doubts in her mind ever so subtly and carefully. Timing is crucial. Whatever happens continue to be loving and kind and all that a good husband can be. She'll eventually see that you aren't evil and may be willing to quietly give some thought to the concerns ('apostate' views) that you have.
I strongly recommend a reading of Steve Hassan's 'Combatting Cult Mind Control' before you renew your attempts to help your family out of the cult.

Highdose in a bit of a mess... but in a good cause
by highdose ini am once again trying really hard to come off the pills ( anti depressants) i've been off them for 3 days, am having the most awful withdrawal symtoms.
inculding terrible vertigo!
i just looked up the offical symtoms of coming off my brand of meds... this is the list.

Yes, minimus is correct in saying your doc should be involved. Is it possible from half dose to have gone down to quarter dose for a month or two (whatever timescale your doctor recommends) before cutting it out completely?
(Repetition for emphasis: check your doctor) Please be careful and do take good care of yourself - this can have very serious consequences, as I'm sure you know!

So which makes more sense? Sex or no sex in the "new system"?
by stillstuckcruz inobviously jah wouldn't allow for millions of pregnancies in the new system for fear of the same problem today of overpopulation.
so would he throw in sex but not allow for the women to become pregnant?
or would there be just no sex at all?

What's the point of speculating? Besides, real study of the Bible raises SERIOUS doubts about the interpretation held by the WBTS.

Is it possible to wean yourself off? That works for some meds and makes the transition from on to off smoother.
