Iraq Al Qaeda link apparently is there

fox news is putting out a report that the senate intelligence committee has a sixteen page memo detailing the links between iraq and al qaeda going back before the first gulf war.

this includes monies...weapons...and training going to aq, atta meeting twice with iraqi intelligence (1994 and 2000), and a possible visit by ubl himself to baghdad a few years back.

it'll be interesting to see how this pans out...even more interesting to hear what the oppossers have to say if this all proves true...you know...the ones who keep saying there's no link between iraq and a q.

Of course there are links between A Q and Iraq. There are links between dozens of counties (including the US) and A Q.

The question is :

Are there direct links, and what is the nature of those links? There may be in fact direct links between A Q and Iraq, but to date there has been no evidance of such.

If there were, the Bush administration would have anxiously offered it up. Unfortunately, the info brought forth so far, in that reguard, has been well, wrong, and that has damaged our credibillity with the rest of the world.

Reguardless of what is found from this day on, the sad fact is, our government was sold on an awlful lot of bad info. that turned out to be false or exaggerated.

Reason? : Because when you look for things to support an argument your sold on, you become an easy sell.

...but next time, leave the finking to the JW's. The girl is a hypocrite but she deserves to come out of the closet at her own pace. Forcing her out of the organization will not take the JW out of her soul.

Agreed. She sounds conflicted which is how almost everyone is for varying lengths of time before they find the courage to leave. After that , there is still more time often before they figure out the best way.

I understand your reasoning about kind of making her make a choice, but when you went to the elders it's kind of like recognizing there authority yourself, which for me would be unthinkable .

I would not judge you, but from what you have written, I think if you examined yourself deeply-- ulterior motives may have had a little to do with you talking to elders.

she must have special friends in high places. nothing was done, and she continues where she left off. lucky girl. I had to leave the JWs to pursue a higher education and go to concerts and find fun, worldly boys to date. the only good thing to come of this was finding a wonderful boyfriend in "skajester". we've been together for 15 months now.

Maybe she lied-- or maybe like you said in your post...

They wouldn't probably do anything public over that.

As far as the worldly friends and online stuff-- that could all be spun very easily.

Does anyone else still get Armaggeddon Nightmares!!

i haven't posted for a few weeks as i have been back at work busy beavering away, however as it is my day off i thought i would see if anyone else has the same trouble that i have, and also if there is anything they have found useful.. i have always had trouble eating properly and sleeping ever since my early teen years, but over the past couple of years or so (even though i know i don't believe the watchtower teachings anymore) i have at least 3 or 4 times a week, the most vivid awful nightmares about armaggeddon, and the different ways that jehovah is going to destroy me because of my wickedness.

i wake up in tears and shaking with fear, and then i am not able to get back to sleep, i just lie awake until the morning not daring to close my eyes.. i can't believe that as a grown woman, the watchtower teachings keep coming back to haunt me.. lainey.

ps can i also thank all the posters for the kind personal messages that i have received since i came here

I've had bad dreams too. Well ito my 20's.

mostly in the Form of Tornados and not being able to save family who was not in the Org. (What a warped view)

But now I only have nightmares of walking back in to the KH, -- I come in late and the elders are eyeballing me.. I sit down and open my watchtower to the lesson of the day. The presiding overseer is sitting behind me.. and he sees that my Watchtower is unhighlighted! At that point I realize I'm also not wearing any pants!

Time heels it all Lainey, especially when your confidence increases> Hang in there.

I empathize completely, and that is the measure of a true fan. We stick with em' in tough times -- even when they last too long. Your Lions and my Browns will have their day... prolly in 2034 when the end comes!

Aztec -- please don't put the Lions in the same category as the Browns -- the Browns did make the playoffs as recently as last year....

Euph , your absolutely right it is hard to tell.

But you would think that if these quotes were completely legit, that some sort of character or color would shine through, even if only once in awhile. But no, same company line every time, same language, same words, same phrasing, same rythym.

What that tells me is that they absolutely have to change peoples quotes. They may get permission ( from the real people) but they have to at the least be watchtowerizing all comments from the "brothers."

MB I am a huge Brown fan!

It has been a difficult burden to bare. Your'e right they do have alot of talent. They just need to start to believe in themselves. They have had some tough breaks this year. There not as bad as there record would indicate.

They need a strong running game, a better run defence, and they'll be right there. We will have our day MB, it's just not going to be this year.

There schedual this year still gives them an outside chance of making the playoffs.(Just tryin to look at the bright side.)

for those of us missing our daily fix (opps, better not use that word anymore) of rush limbaugh, it was announced on his show thursday that he will be sober enough to return to the air on monday the 17th of november.

Guess all of us who never had problems can throw rocks.

Rush has made his living doing just that for the past 14 years. That is why it is hard to have much sympathy for him. I wish this man the best as a fellow human being who has a problem, buthe gets little sympathy because he gave so little.

Maybe he'll learn a lesson and loose the arrogant, insensitive attitude he has had toward others.

I never understood the roll of government until I listen to his show.I did realize that most liberals are tunnel visioned. That most liberal views are tied in with what the Gov. can give me or my group, and it is all based on taxation. I appreciate his show and he has helped my thought process. It may not be correct, but at lease I am thinking outside the line now.

If you have learned what the roll of gov. is from RL then you should understand that you have learned from an idealog with an agenda. Consider truly "thinking out side of the line" and think for yourself. I would suggest getting your info from a wider variety of sources. Also becareful that you consider a variety of viewpoints.

This nation was founded as a liberal democracy where people exchange ideas and views in a free society where anyone can get involved in government. It is unfortunate that some people have hijacked the word liberal as something that is negative. Sad will be the day when we stop being and thinking liberally.

i just watched bill moyer's, now on pbs.

i was wondering who else watched the program.

it was dealing with the discrepancies between the lower class workers and the upper class executives.

Many of these CEO's that makes millions of dollars a year get their salary mostly through bonus's because the company has made a huge turnaround. Sometimes the company even still exists because of the CEO.

Stacie, many more companies go belly up because of it's officers. And often times they get huge bonuses when the company has losses. The board of Directors is a joke --they all are a bunch of big wigs at other companies, and they all put each other on each other's companies board. Most of the time they meet once a month to vote on something (they always vote however the ceo or chairman tells them to). For this they get an extra 50 to 100 grand a year.
