There are some wonderful people who post on here....hope that you stick around!

i have been lurking here for quite a while and have decided to officially introduce myself.
i am still an active jw but i am in a holding pattern of sorts right now because of many of the things i have read on this form.
they truely have been eye openers.

cult finds 'eternal youth' formula.
"A generation is coming that will never die. People can expect to stretch their lives for 50 or 70 years."
Perhaps the FDS were being just a little too eager back in 1918!
Clonaid's past claims have been treated with scepticism, not least because of its links with the Raelians, founded by a former French racing driver who claims he is in contact with aliens who created humanity from clones of themselves.
Scarey stuff Nathan....can't wait for the next press release....
Thanks for posting!
the latest watchtower, dec 15th 2003, is an out and out attack on the rank and file for dropping into a drowsy state spiritually.
ok, so armageddon didn't come before the generation of 1914 grew old and died.
but does that mean that the big a isn't near?
Just to settle this once and for all???..

?Expectation postponed is making the heart sick,? Solomon states, ? but the thing desired is a tree of life when it does come.? (proverbs 13:12) Unfulfilled expectation are bound to lead to disappointments that make the heart sick. This happens in everyday life. However, this is not the case with the expectations that are solidly based on god?s Word. We can have complete confidence that they will be fulfilled. Even apparent delays are less likely to be disappointing.
For example, we know that God?s new world is imminent. (2 peter 3;13)
I have had to hold myself back from adding my own thoughts on this text.
What do you guys think?
Remember imminent as in NOW!! Maybe is should of read eminent.......
Maybe returning to meeting?s is in order.
Ooooh......I don't know!!
my jw neighbor wasn't able to come on monday after all, but we rescheduled our meeting for today (wednesday).
on monday, i had a bit of material around, and my next-door neighbor stopped in.
i found out that she was in a bible study with some jws!

I'm a never-been JW,
You are truly awesome in your reasoning! You have done so very well with her - I'm sure that fact that you have never been a witness is helping you open some doors of her mind.
For me the doors are shut. My long life 'best friend' won't discuss spiritual matters with me, neither my JW brother. They are not encouraged to reason openly - as I'm sure you are aware.
Well done!
Jourles...............you can't leave!!!!
Come back soon.........
i'm probably going to regret this post in the morning... piph is in the bathroom right now, trying not to puke, and i'm barely able to compose proper sentences.. i left my credit card behind at a local club, with a tab open... but you know what?
getting drunk is fun!
i don't intend to do it often... it makes one rather disconcertingly vulnerable.
Happy Halloween!
To all those with sore heads this Saturday morning.....hope that you had a great time!
To all the American partygoers.................sorreeee I mean .
(just Jealous coz I couldn't get to a party last night....especially the one at joy2bfree & jst2laws....where everyone is....lol)
i've been lurking on this site for the past two months and just now decided to post.
i was raised a witness, and got baptised only a couple years ago.
however, shortly after my baptism i started having doubts, and began to suffer from low self esteem.
WELCOME ENISHI!!!
Look forward to getting to know you better!
i received this at work the other day.
it was sent to myself and quite a few others who work in my department via email.. i have to say, it sounded an awful lot like a story i heard from some dubs.. i just thought it was interesting.................dubs always take everything as their own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
cheers, bliss.
Bliss,
I heard that it was a 'sister' on the ministry... in some flats on her own.............
.
i consider all who post here as my family.we have all been hurt in some way.my brother died today.. blueblades, who has six sisters left.mom, dad, one sister and two brothers died.i'm the only man in the family now.
