Goodbye Old Friend.......
by ScoobySnax inabsolutely gutted tonight......got in from work and my sisters dog "lady" had just passed away.
i missed her literally by 5 minutes.
she hadn't been ill and had been out for a walk this morning as usual, when my sister came in from work she was just laid in her basket, but was barely alive, fixed eyes and very shallow breathing, i think she must have had a stroke at some point this afternoon.

Fuming, Angry, seething, seeing RED!!!!!!!!!!

they were telling me about disciplining children... the speaker was saying how all babies are born selfish and demanding for their own needs and not anyone elses.
the jist of the talk being about discipline, and training children ...ie taking them out for a good beating.. well, i don't know if any of you have ever 'just seen red!

That is just the scenario that I experienced?.makes me feel sick??..
I feel that so many parents ?go overboard? with disciplining at the KH because others are watching/glaring at them. They spank all the more so.
It?s such a shame for these kids coz? most of them would probably be sleeping at home in the cozy beds rather than getting spanked coz? they are soooo bored at trying to listen for the next Jehovah or Jesus being said from the speaker.

I feel just a you do. My mother didn?t smack me toooo much as a kid, but I do remember others really getting it. I don?t wish to give examples as it really upsets me now to think of it. I have always thought that those kids that you are bashing, for behaving there age, they will grow up one day and remember what you did to them. I just hope that most left the borg.
Now that I?m out, I?ve always liked to think that things may of got better in this regards?.clearly not.
I really feel for the JW kids?I really do.
mind control cults, abusing children by forcing them to sit listening to boring rubbish and be dragged round streets selling shit magazines. The smacking room.!!!!!!!!

Do not just follow the crowd.

Just in case you are still lingering, you said.....
believe this. if you can be misjudged and badly hurt and then punished for something that isnt your fault, and you can bow to that punishment and accept it, and forgive those people that did it to you, and accept that punishment like it was your fault, even when it wasnt, then i think you have found the true meaning of love and forgiveness, and hold the keys to the kingdom.
You have the true mentality of a JW......you MUST go back!
My only guideline to you for the future, is that if something/someone makes you feel really bad, doubtful or frightened about others, be it elders, long standing JW friends. Please be assured that you should not feel that way amongst 'true worshippers of God' The feeling you should be experiencing should be complete peace and surety that you are amongst loving people, who will be your friends always.
I am glad that you are going back now with the awareness that should you change your mind, you know that leaving will mean that all your JW acquaintances will abandon you, you will be deserted. Really you should always highlight this point when you start a study with anyone?please do this.
Personally, life is just to short to be investing precious time on ones who will desert me for my personal beliefs.

all the young ones had to move and sit together in one stand of the football stadium.

I told me mum the applause sto ry - and she said I wasn't in the kids section because they asked kids 10 and over to be in that section - so that's why I don't remember it. Me being under 10 puts it before June 1991. I think 1990 would be about right.
I think I was only at a Hillsborough convention (in 1985 or 1986) one year before it started being at Leeds, I remember sitting on blankets on the terraces... *shudder*.The ?applause? story is hilarious! I was always amused at the ones who were there, ready with the large sheets of plastic - for when it rained..?oh the joy!

Yeah, I recieved my wonderful YPA book from main road - oh the joy!
The main road kids would never behave the way the 'Leeds crowd' behaved! Maybe we were just 'more spiritual'!...lol
