Why do I no longer get attacked and persecuted by the demons, since I left JW,s ?
by pedal power inmost jw.s really believe that they ( as we once did ) are promoting gods will, but what if they really are ?
is it possible that god is supporting them even though they (governing body ) lie, because most jw,s are ignorant of the lies told on their behalf, ?.
when i was a jw i got attacked by the demons bigtime, but not now, and i can only assume that they (demons ) are happy that i am no longer a jw and are now leaving me alone, cant think of any other reason, has god ever supported a group who were similarly found wanting ?.

No one was attacking depressed people. We simply pointed out that some CAN have hallucinations but not all. I don't know---the way you purposely miss the point seems obtuse. Apologists exist, they have an agenda.

Edited to add: Why do you say that those suffering depression cannot defend themselves? Is that an underhanded attack? I've been depressed, but I've been able to defend myself. I'm not totally helpless. Why do you generalize and attack the depressed so? Just like any other disease, it manifests itself differently in different people.

I don't know. Perhaps you aren't Maze, but you're doing an awful lot of apologizing. You think that other churches are where the demons lurk, but the WT is only guilty of human imperfection. What protection is offered there that is not offered by the moral code of many other religions? Most religions teach against fornication, lying, stealing etc. Why does that not offer the same protection? Why are they also not simply guilty of human imperfection? What kind of protection is offered to a child in need of blood, or a woman experiencing a risky pregnancy? What kind of protection is offered by discouraging education? Exactly what protection are you talking about? Apparently they don't offer protection from demons---just like every other church doesn't offer such protection. Now I admit I don't believe in demons, so I'm just going with your reasoning. They aren't protected by their very own families when they step off the course. They are thrown to the wolves--because that is how they see the world. Please, tell me how JW's protect their people more than any other church.
I know a young girl that got pregnant and was DF'd. All protection of family, friends and community were withdrawn. She had to navigate an unfamiliare world on her own. Yeah, some protection.

BOR, I totally understand that disassociation===er not the JW disassociation either. That is that floaty disconnected feeling I get under extreme stress. Mix that with the sleep paralysis and I can't figure why I only thought demons when at that funeral! I should have been seeing demons everwhere. I find the actual explanations much more interesting than the supernatural. Although I don't believe in demon encounters, I'm not so arrogant as to suggest they will never be proven. Just so far, they haven't, and I don't expect them to be. I just wish people would exhaust all options before throwing in the towel and saying demons are the only reasonable explanation.
Mad Sweeny, I meant to bring out that same point. But that just emphasizes how our personal experiences are a terrible means for defining our world. "I'm depressed, and I never had hallucinations, therefore depression doesn't cause hallucinations." Well I could counter that with "Well I drank a bottle of Jack last night and I didn't vomit, therefore excessive alcohol consumption does not induce vomiting."
I am suspicious of Pedal Pusher's agenda. I could definitely be wrong, but it seems the demon possesion thingy is a tactic to defend the WT. If not, I will apologize. That's the skeptic in me.

I recognise many other religions report the same thing, but if{ Babylon } is the lurking place of demons, would,nt we expect that ?
Hmmm, this last question is very telling. As a JW being bothered by demons could be proof that god is with them. However when it happens to Babylon it is because it is a lurking place for demons. WHAT????
Okay, that made me very dizzy. Let me try to refigure it. If you are bothered by demons as a JW, it is because you are a target of satan, but people bothered by demons in false religion are FRIENDS with the demons.
No, that doesn't work. Please continue to hone your critical thinking skills. You are still deeply stuck in cult reasoning. This is a scary move, a huge change in your life. It is normal to have doubts--no need to involve demons.
Also, you have said several times that you are sane. I know that. I never suggested otherwise. But I have suggested, along with others, that maybe there are explanations you have not investigated yet. It appears you don't want to investigate further, you have decided that on your limited experience you have the answers. Even though we have offered many proven instances where demon possession was NOT the answer.
Maybe if I put it to music . . .

Wow, never before in history? LOL, I won't repeat what everyone else has said, but I think JWfacts has an excellent point. Look beyond borders and generations and they will see that in comparision we are all freaking kings. At least if we don't live in a 3rd world nation that is. I can understand why people living in the 3rd world are ever anxious to an end to their suffering, but living in the US or the UK or countless other nations, we have it very good. Maybe if people stopped looking to god to end the suffering and started to look to humans we could eliminate much more suffering. Oh, that's right, man can't direct his own step, except when it comes to space travel, computers, medical science, art, music, literature, architecture, physics, GOD WE SUCK!

So I remember all these stories when I was in about people that were hounded by demons but when they found "the truth" it stopped. Or if they called the name of Jehovah (why is that supposed to work? Is it like a magic charm or spell?) it stops. Proof that it's the truth. OR once in, they are bothered by demons. Proof it's the truth cuz now the satan is trying to pull you away.
That is always the reasoning. If something good happens, Jehovah is blessing you. Proof god is with you. If things go bad, satan is testing you, proof god is with you. War and reports of war, proof armegeddon is here. Peace and security, proof armegeddon is here.
I don't consider myself a skeptic to supernatural events. I consider you a skeptic to scientific explanation. I just encourage you to not stop with the demon theory but to try to look beyond it. If you elminate the concern about demons, this will no longer inject doubt into your reasoning.
