I got 4 visits close to memorial, after not hearing from them for almost a year, even though an elder lives next door. I think it was the 30 hour thingy.

Is the Society doing an extra "push" for Field Service this year?
by donny inmaybe it is just the area i am in, but i have run into more jw's in field service this year than the last 7 or 8 combined.
i have had three visits to my house, one for the memorial, one for a special talk and one for the convention.
and yesterday was the 5th time this year i have been approached while out for my daily walk/run and given a tract or magazine.

Well we managed to destroy Glenn Beck. The money spoke. The only companies that would advertise on his show anymore were the ones that catered to fanatics. They sold gold and survival equipment. The pressure won't let up on FOX--but unfortunately they have a tendency to draw back just enough to prevent full-scale rebellion. Still--Glen Beck gives me hope.
And now--I'd like to share a precious bit of info I gleaned from inhaling foxygen:
Tide goes in, Tide goes out. Never a missed communication. No one knows why.
Edit to say: Talesin I like Faux News too. I also like MOX News---they produce videos on youtube. "We watch Fox News, so you don't have too!"

Reporters were hacking private phone mails for years, following stars and politicians. They also hacked widows of fallen soldiers. Looking for the scoop. Well it became unbearable when a 14-year-old girl went missing. They hacked her account and listened to all of her messages. THEN the pricks deleted the messages to make room for more. Her frantic family were encouraged when her voice mail filled up and then could accept messages again. They thought it meant she was alive and listening to them. She was dead. Murdoch's people were responsible.
Advertisers immediately began pulling ads from the paper and now Sunday will be their last issue. GO UK!! Now if we Americans can just pull it together to shut down FOX news. The world doesn't need such influential poison spilling into the minds of believers.

good for them, perhaps this younger, more savvy generation are more comfortable sticking two fingers up to the organisation and forcing their families to make the uncomfortable decisions about associating with them.. i applaud you, you were happy to believe it or leave it.. me?
i submitted my last field service report more than 11 years ago and have been 'fading' ever since, and i'm sick of it.

I suspect that many young JWs are shortening their fade time because the Watchtower Society has become much more intense and restrictive.
I'm sorry they practice emotional terrorism. This is a spot no one should be forced into, but there you are. Keep us updated. I'm so disgusted with the whole shunning aspect I can barely stand it.

This is what I can't decide. Are they actually becoming more restrictive, or is that my perception. I'm just not sure. Has anything actually fundamentally changed? Again, I'm just not sure.
Now I'm off to learn about this culling thing.
