Thats was great! Hmmm....I think i'll try that whenever I get labelled an "apostate". It may or may not accomplish something.

Two new experiences.....
by Momma-Tossed-Me inall of you share your experiences about encountering jw's and i enjoy them so much....here are two that just happened over the weekend for your enjoyment.. so as you all may know last december i was officially labeled by the borg.
so now all jdubs must shun me who have known me since birth and thereafter.. i had a booth at a local festival this saturday and a jw was the chairman of this years deal.
so he is also a photog and he was going to each booth and taking a picture of it.. he did the one right beside me and then did a wide half circle to get to the next booth on the other side so as not to get to close to the new town apostate.

Hello Jehovah's Witnesses. I was in class 119 of Gilead in 2005
by AllTimeJeff inmy picture is in the january 1, 2006 watchtower.. why am i telling you this?
consider this my small weekend contribution to the cause of real truth.
any jw who has been one for a while, or a born in, knows the regard that pioneers, elders, bethelites and missionaries have.

I love his little side "translations" of the posters, most notably this one:
"Needless to say his arguments were not perfect, or indeed honest, and were not enough at the time to get me to feel any different about my vision of the WT as a bunch of liers."
Translation: I still feel how I want to feel, which means I don't have to put for the effort to be a Witness anymore.
----->How in the world did he get that from the above quoted statement? If a religion is dishonest, that has ZERO to do with being lazy, which is what the apologist implied.
*** ts chap. 5 p. 46 What Is This Thing Called “Soul”? ***
Knowing these things, what will you do? It is obvious that the true God, who is himself “the God of truth” and who hates lies, will not look with favor on persons who cling to organizations that teach falsehood. (Psalm 31:5; Proverbs 6:16-19; Revelation 21:8) And, really, would you want to be even associated with a religion that had not been honest with you?Thanx Bangalore!

I didn't like this article at all, though I find myself saying that with all of them now. lol. Particularly with regards to whom the anointed were before Russell. Obviously they haven't a clue(mainly because there were none), but they seem to assume that ANYONE who did not accept everything the churches of the time were doing MUST have been of the "anointed".
It is interesting to note that they describe those supposed "anointed ones" as ones who " courageously defended God’s Word and exposed the church’s unscriptural teachings."
---->For any witness today to use the Bible to prove any WT doctrine wrong is NEVER viewed as "courageous", but a product of pride, disloyalty, and Satanic thinking. The only way that any JW can be considered "courageous" is for them to continue to follow the GB and do whatever they are told. Only then are they looked upon as having "stood up for Bible Truth". Wierd twist on things....
*** w11 9/15 p. 31 Can You Be Like Phinehas When You Face Challenges? ***
By acting with courage and decisiveness when situations in the congregation require such, elders become examples of faith and loyalty. Of course, other Christians also need to act courageously, reporting serious wrongdoing that they may become aware of.------>Great commentary as always Blondie! Good start to my day. This is my "daily text 2012". lol

4/15 WT- WTS Doesn't Care about your Happiness- Just JW's Obedience
by flipper inbeen off the board for about 6 days or so battling a nasty bout of vertigo that hit me early this week.
at least my heads not spinning so i can think straight now to type a thread.
in this article titled, " maintain a complete heart towards jehovah " ( which should be called ' maintain a complete heart towards the wt society ) - wt society uses a lame illustration of a field laborer desiring family - yet missapplies this to jw's desiring " things of satan's world".. on page 15 it states, " a field laborer is busy plowing.

I agree Baltar, they seem to really be getting nuttier. The more recent magazines are really "out there". Of course, all JW's who read the magazines will say how it "certainly is food at the proper time!" And "It's just what we need!"
Great thread a always Flipper(Glad your feeling better btw)!
I find it interesting that the public edition of the WT on pages 28-30 has a section entitled "Life in Bible Times-the Farmer". It is interesting that it makes no such mention of "longing for the 'world'". Rather, it encourages the reader to "read the cited scriptures, and see what you learn."(pg. 28) Of course, membership is not so free to "see what you learn"...especially if it is a contradiction to the GB's interpretations.

Take advantage of today's text in "Examing the Scriptures Daily" with your JW loved ones

to handle peer pressure, you first have to be convinced that your beliefs and standards are right.

I can't stand texts and articles like these.
ask yourself, ‘What convinces me that God exists?' The purpose of that question is not to arouse skepticism but to strengthen your faith. In a similar vein, ask yourself, ‘Why am I convinced that these are "the last days"?...‘What makes me believe that Jehovah's standards are for my good?'-Isa. 48:17, 18. w10 11/15 2:6
^Those questions certainly do feel like someone trying hard to convince themselves of something they have difficulty accepting.
So why not prove to yourself that what you have been taught from the Bible is indeed the truth? Start with the basics.
^The problem with their definition of "prove to yourself" is that it does not involve ANY outside perspective. A few years ago, when I discussed a few doubts i'd been having about God, he told me to prove it to myself. But how did he want me to do that? He wanted me to involve myself deeper into the congregation with responsibilities, etc, in the hope that I would "feel Jehovah's help". That is the issue with their definition of "prove to yourself". It is completely devoid of the well-needed perspective. It would likely consist of soley the Bible and the WT magazines
Great find though besides :)

striking similarity to JW
by inbetween inever heard of this church ?.
example: http://rcg.org/articles/abcc.html.
very similar reasoning to jw,...

WOW! That article could have been taken from any WT article. Wierd. The line of reasoning on bdays is exactly the same.
I looked at the video of their interpretation of the two witnesses and they are very similar to JW's, not in their actual interpretation but in their methods. He regarded all other theories of the two witnesses and "cooks" and even "stupid". Of couse, with great frequency, he regarded their own doctrine as "the truth". Sound all too familiar?
Under their article, "Are You Being Called", the follwing statements are made:
-"When placed toge the r, the se passages explain that God is calling a few people—actually a very few—out of the world for His supreme purpose. Those who respond to His calling are the n “chosen,” going on to repentance, baptism and conversion."
-"After reading some of the literature from The Restored Church of God, many come to recognize that the y have been brought into contact with extraordinary understanding. The y find the mselves learning things that the y have never heard before. The y notice that the Bible makes sense—that it is not as hard to understand as the y had previously thought. The n, feeling a growing need to act on what the y are learning, many wonder, “Am I being called by God?”
-"When you read or hear the se things in our magazines, books, booklets, articles and The World to Come programs, do the y have meaning to you? Are you grasping the m? Are the y plain to your understanding? Do you see the m as special knowledge o the rs do not have? Do you feel tempted to pinch yourself in disbelief that you could be shown things of which the masses have no idea? If the answers to the se questions are “yes,” the n God is calling—“drawing”—you! The mysteries of the kingdom of God are being given to you !"
----->Those are just a few of the statements but they could just have easily come from any JW magazine from any year. I sense a CULT!!!

I love the comment:
Answer by Phronesis
Who benefits? Anyone who is keen to be taught by Jehovah owing to his people:“This is what Jehovah has said, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: ‘I, Jehovah, am your God, the One teaching you to financial help [physically], the One causing you to tread in the way in which you should walk. O if only you would really pay concentration to my commandments! Then your peace would become just like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea. And your offspring would become just like the sand, and the young from your inward parts like the grains of it. One’s name would not be cut off or be annihilated from before me.’” (Isaiah 48:17-19)
The funds are used in innumerable ways, often in catastrophe relief work, but also to further this teaching work that benefits all who listen and obey, as well as the communities in which we live.
On the other hand, Satan is a fantastic enemy of this work, and his followers tell all kinds of lies about us, just as Jesus said would be the case:“Pleased are you when people reproach you and … lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against you for my sake.” (Matthew 5:11)

What will they do to stop the stampede of new "partakers"?
^They will pre-accuse people of being "mentally diseased"....whoops that term is reserved for evil apostates. Er, they will pre-accuse people of being "mentally or emotionally imbalanced". That should steer away the new nibblers and sippers.
Great commentary and research as always Blondie! This article was a particular annoyance to me. Thankfully we had no reading of paragraphs and it was a simple commentary because it was @ the Special Assembly day. But I just sat back and listened to the brother ramble on about the Holy Spirit in the first-century as compared to today. There were a million holes in this article
