  there is no reasonable explanation that suggests that OJ did not do it. Therefore there is no reasonable doubt.

  Please tell me you did not just lecture us on the finer points of the law with this lame ass statement.

  You may be a very intelligent person otherwise, but honey, you must have missed the part of our Law Code that DECLARES A MAN INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.

  NO ONE on OJ's defense team had to explain ANYTHING about OJ or his actions. He went into that courtroom presumed an innocent man. It is the responsibility of the prosecutor (District Attorney's Office) to prove that he is guilty. THEY FAILED TO DO THAT. Therefore, OJ walked. Your gripe should be with the Prosecution team and the inept Darden and Clark.

  May God grant that you are NEVER summoned to jury duty, especially in a capital case.

  Did you hear the way she slammed the Catholic Church's confession policy? Apparently (I didn't know this) one priest can confess to another priest and be absolved. EVEN a criminal act such as pedophilia.

  Let me put it this way....If I could get ahold of the Ref that made that bogus-@$$ call on the Raiders game last year, he'd be done making babies.

  ANYBODY could have seen that it was not a forward pass it was a fumble.

  I guess I'll have to let it go....on to a new season.

  I LIVE FOR FOOTBALL. I love the Raiders and the Rams. Vinnie Testaverde sucks. Is he 'done' yet?

  And, by the way, I'm going to bomb the new NFL commentary team. Who does NBC think they are, not offering that cutie pie Howie Long a contract????

  i find it a stunning confirmation of exactly how abuse survivors are treated within the jehovahs witnesses community.

  I agree with you almost 100%.

  This issue, though, is the one that mademe realize that the JWs are a cult and have brainwashed their victims. WHY? Because honest, goodhearted men who would rather die than harm a fly have somehow been snookered into believing that their manner of "investigating sins" is Jehovah's manner.

  And, as I have stated before, the parents of the children themselves also have some culpability here--NOT that they (in all cases) knew the molestation was taking place. But those that did "committed the same crime" as my father/other elders. Instead of going to the police, they chose to let the elders handle it.

  I can tell you now, they haven't made an elder yet that could handle me if my children were molested.

  THE PATTERN WAS DESIGNED BY THE GOVERNING BODY. THEY are the bloodguilty ones here.

  "God's ways are higher than man's ways" and when you've been hearing for YEARS sometimes DECADES that you are God's right hand man.....well, you lose perspective. Period.

  I know many asshole elders, and a few elders that I would probably give my life for. They honestly think they are doing what's right.

  Your position postulates that even Bill Bowen himself was an abuser...and it just isn't true. Unwittingly, unknowingly these men have participated in crimes against children. But I personally would not go the extra step to call them an abuser. Yes, the judicial committees they sat on have done irreparable damage to who knows how many adults and children.

  Calling *ALL* of those men abusers outright, imho, is doing a disservice. Remember that at one time, we too were "abusers"--going from door to door spreading our brainwashing message of death to the unsuspecting general public.

  Without giving any confidential details over the DB, I'd say we should talk via phone. I'll send you my number via email. Bill Bowen woke up. The rest haven't woken up yet to the reality of the situation.

  well, since i've been rather "inactive" and haven't started any new threads in a coupla months at least, i want to get your thoughts on this subject.. i've been reading a fair deal (since i'm a fast reader, i've always been able to keep up with most of the posts.

  ) but lately (past month) i really haven't been feeling drawn to jw.com.

  i have nothing but admiration for simon, ang, bill and shiela but i do have some questions worth raising.

  Makes me really look at her as an honest person for admitting to it. You wont find many here that will admit to having made a screw up like that.

  Now this, I can agree with.

  I do feel however the subject of why Fred Hall was deactivated has been beaten like a dead horse. This must be the tenth thread started about his demise.

  I only saw a couple, but like I said....they didn't really state my position well.
