  the world is changing.

  where do you see religion, god, spiritual faith science, as we transition and world power shifts?

  Pretty much where we are today. I do believe in divine intervention; just not in my lifetime. Most likely not in my childrens' lifetime. That being so, I shall live well & enjoy life.

  i kept it short, a two sentence paragraph.

  i also feel i've been given some very sound advice and have decided to keep it for a few days and just make sure i'm not making a rash/emotional decision.. thanks to everyone of you on this site.

  They Came, They Said, They Left

  they came to the rural black belt county of wilcox in alabama, in the year 1970. hailing from exotic places such as new york, new jersey, connecticut, and massachusetts, they were bright, articulate, and persuasive.. they said the end was close, that the year 1975 would probably be the farthest limit for the current "system of things.

  " some of us believed them and embraced their theology wholeheartedly.

  we wrote letters of resignation to our respective churches and hit the highways and byways, hawking the wt message to stunned families and friends.. 1975 came and went - nothing.

  Honesty: You are absolutely right. They never came right out & said 1975 was the end. They only intimated it in countless magazine articles & convention parts. I was there. Got married during the 75 scare. Who do you think started this rumor anyway, the rank & file? As the WBTS loves illustrations, here's one for you: Pushing an occupied car into a group of people & then denying any responsibility still makes you guilty as hell.

  as we all know, those who have for the last century heard & rejected your message have been labeled as "goats" deserving of everlasting destruction.

  approximately 5 generations of humans who heard your message have been killed off by you.

  on the other hand, those who didn't hear fall into the "unrighteous" catagorie & can expect a resurrection.

  Mr. Snowbird and I Are Reconciling

  we've agreed to compromise on our differences and support each other through the years we have left.. i'm seeing a psychiatrist today to deal with my difficulties that stem from a traumatic and tumultuous childhood.. he is willing to yield in his beliefs that a man should control everything and make all the decisions.. being a stubborn jamaican, i realize how hard that is for him.. we're going to renovate the house so that he has his own quarters.. that way, my boisterous g'kids won't work his nerves too badly.. just wanted to put it out there.. syl.

  most new cell phones record audio, but that would leave with you when you are dismissed.

  just wondering how to capture it all if it ever came to that.. .

  Good luck with your friends. Did that with the only one who I thought would listen. He accused me of being deserted by the holy spirit because of my divorce & disfellowshipping. Just don't be too surprised by their reactions.

  Today is my brithday and I feel depressed.

  woke up next to my wonderful wife after getting up she make me a great breakfast and for dinner tonight grilled steak and a brithday cake she made.

  so why am i depressed?

  could it be my children will not call me today to wish me a happy brithday.

  Happy Birthday ADD. I'm in the same boat. All family & friends made over 50 years in are, of course, all gone. I've been out for 4 years and each year I miss them less. My loving wife & I enjoy a great life. Continue to look forward. Life gets better. My credo: Live Well....Enjoy Life. (Oh, by the way, I'll be 60 in July. I'm havin a BIG PARTY!!!!!)

  Thanks for the post, slidin. If nothing else, it reinforces our confidence that this is nothing more than a man made cult. One that is indeed dangerous and needs to be exposed. Having people believe that you speak for God himself has just too much potential for damage as they have aptly demonstrated over the century. Reminds me of that scene in "Conan the Barbarian" where James Earl Jones as the high priest motions the follower on the ledge to jump to her death. "That's real power" he says. The GB must have seen this flick.

  Are JW EX elders in need of our contempt or sympathy ?

  point 1. not so long i would have strung them all up and hanged them.. point 2. these guys were the real succers, not only did they become jw,s, they embraced and adopted the cults teachings, and to some extent subjugated thier familys happiness, and thier own,to elevate themselves, and achieve status and recieve privellages, ie not have a f-----g life.

  point 3 they had the onerus task of making sense, of the ever changing (truths) and having to teach that crap to the rest of us, and cope with the subsequent questionings that would invariably follow.. point 4.they had to take the lead in (sales) distributing literature.

  point 5.they were the authoritarian face of the society, and a lot of people, (myself included ) thought they were jumped up janitors and window cleaners with a chip on thier shoulders.

  Those of us that were elders already carry our own personal burdens. I have two adult daughters, one in and one out. They grew up during the time I was an elder and lost out on many things. I married during the scare of 75 & although not in love at that time, I was sure the end was right around the corner. Certainly I would learn to love her in Paradise. That never happened. We stayed together for 34 years, always certain the end was near. I finally met & fell in love with someone else. I was, of course disfellowshiped. While waiting for reinstatement, I realized the fraud the religion was & never went back. I regret everything I put my children through. I feel like such a hypocrite. The one daughter in rarely speaks to me. I don't blame her. I hope in the future she too realizes the truth. So feel free to think of us as contemptible; I already do.
