The seven trumpet blasts of Revelation & the Millions campaign.
by transhuman68 inone of the jehovahs witness doctrines that many of us have had trouble believing is that the seven angels trumpet blasts described in revelation applied to events that occurred in the 1920s at seven assemblies held around the world at the time when judge rutherford was the president of the watchtower society.. the revelation climax book (1988) contains this summary on page 173:.
highlights of jehovah's trumpetlike judgment proclamations.
1922 cedar point, ohio: a challenge to christendom's leaders in religion, politics, and big business to justify their failure to bring peace, prosperity, and happiness.

The trumpet blast prophesies shows their art of prediction really blows.

My sisters funeral service was just appalling. An absolute disgrace.
by still wondering inmy sisters' funeral service was just appalling.
an absolute disgrace.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/medical/216561/1/my-sister-died-this-morning-after-refusing-blood-on-four-occasions.
the funeral was held today for my sister when every opportunity was used as a sales pitch to promote their malignant message, in this case to any non jw's that may be present, just like any other pyramid scam it seems.. the person whose funeral it is just has a minor bit part to play compared to the main feature , the promotion of the all encompassing multi-talented multi-tentacled wts that you can rely on to guide misguide and pervade every nook and cranny of your life including when to die.. and why not, because as gods only prophet to all mankind, they don't just hear gods voice, they are gods voice.. ***watchtower 1957 june 15 p.370*** "it is vital that we respond to the directions of the "slave" as we would to the voice of god.

I attended a service a few months ago & of course was "invisible". I couldn't care less. The talk ended with the hope of everlasting life. Somehow this seemed a tad out of place at a funeral talk, but no one seemed to notice the irony but me.

This was one of those "don't ask, don't tell" gray areas. My mother always had family over & I always took my family out for Thanksgiving.

Has anyone else noticed all the advertizing the Mormons are starting to do.
by life is to short ini live in the pacific northwest and in the last week i have started to see bill boards popping up all over the city with pictures of people who are doctors, stay at home mom's, lawyers, plumbers, etc.
they all look very normal just living life and below their picture it says i am a mormon.. i have also started in just the last few days to see commercials on tv showing a soccer mom running her kids to games and she stops to look at the camera and says i am a mormon, or they showed a doctor who stops and says i am a mormon.. i think this campaign with the mormons has to do with mitt romney.. has anyone else noticed this?
i wonder what the gb would do to make the jw's look normal, as our kids do not do school sports, we do not go to college so we do not have many doctors or lawyers, or even plumbers and electricians, etc for that matter.

We've had them in NY on TV for a while already. The GB should spend a billion or so on similar ads to improve their image.

Although many things taught by Witnesses are way off base, I believe a few are reasonable. The point of Jah answering the greater questions of who has the right to rule man & would any be loyal out of love & appreciation. The time that such answers would take. God's view of time as opposed to ours. A resurrection of everyone unless you directly piss off God. So why no answers to prayers now? It's just not the time yet. The JWs (and a few on this site) believe the end near. I don't see it. Life continues on as it has for thousands of years. At some point I believe God will intervene & correct everything. In the meantime, Live Well......Enjoy Life.

Did YOU Actually Believe That You Would Never Die?
by minimus ineven though i was raised a witness, i was never convinced that the end would be in 1975 or even in my lifetime..

Iconoclast: My father- in-law knew Rutherford personally. We had dinner with the Schroeders from time to time. Used to go the Bethel farm when it was in Lansing, NY. First four congregations I met at as a kid were in homes, storefronts or converted apartments. I've been around awhile.

Yes, I did. I believed for 45 years of my life I would not die. I believed my mother would not die. This is the most cruel trick any organization could ever play on another human being. And to use this as a recruitment tool is downright criminal. I had to watch my mother die. I have come to the realization that I too will die. I can't put into words the anger and betrayal I feel. For those in who rationalize "Well, it wasn't all bad, was it?" That's like telling the woman who conceived a child from a rape "Well, it wasn't all bad, was it?"

JW's - Hard to admit that much of life was a waste
by xelder infrom my observations, i think many (especially older) jw's hold through the stupid doctrinal changes because they can't admit the alternative.. i had wished the jw kingdom hope was true, i needed it to be true.
i'm 5th generation and my parents, grandparents, great grand.....ect needed it to be true.
i have watched many "faithful" relatives hang on and die disappointed.

This goes along with the "zebra mentality" that the lion may get one or two but the rest of the herd will survive. My mother repeated that phrase "Armageddon is right around the corner" for 50 years. She died, as have millions of others, never realizing it was all a lie. Older witnesses will never leave. They'll die off as the rest of the herd waits for their reward of everlasting life.

Some JWs are exhibiting signs of violence because of WT hate speech. Read the threat to me and others posted at Topix yesterday
by AndersonsInfo inyesterday, i opened a topix account so i could post the information about watch tower representatives attending the political ocse meeting in poland for two weeks and the proof that they are an ngo.
one of the posters responded with these words: .
"barbs-info," eh?
