I can't believe they can blow off Jesus' understanding of a generation. In the account at Matthew 24 the "generation" that Jesus described was 37 years long. He predicted the fall of Jerusalem in 33 CE. If fell in 70 CE, long enough for those who heard the warning to benefit from it. Must be he didn't have the new light.

Which generation do you belong to ?
by edmond dantes inask a witness which generation do you belong to and see if they really know how to answer.. i have decided that every time i hear a true definition of the meaning of a generation i will post it here just to reinforce the true meaning just in case a stray jw happens to look in on here.. yesterday evening i was watching an antiques programme on the television and under discussion was a very well made baby high chair from about the nineteen thirties and the approximate date of manufacture and the length of time it had been in the family.
the expert then went on to confim how old it was and in doing so said that considering who first purchased the chair and the length of a generation that it was from the thirties and went on to say that we consider a generation to be about 25 years.. that is a truer definition of a generation than a watchtower definition.. .

For those of us who remember field service, it typically was a car full of witnesses avoiding any contact with people. Several of us had the same call on one elderly lady because she always invited us in. Even as an elder I knew this was totally a waste of time. No one I ever called on intially ever could have come away with an impression that this was a dire warning & I just condemned them to death.

They'll be dropping the literal number doctrine fairly soon I imagine. This will be bought by the rank & file without batting an eyelash. I stopped into a coffee shop on Saturday morning to see old "friends" warming up from field service while trying not to look at me. Now I just smile back & enjoy life. I had a close friend of 40 yrs. die & no one could be bothered to let me know. So here's a quick note to an old friend. John- sorry to hear of your death. I remember your humor & humility. I pass under a bridge on the NYS Thruway every morning & imagine all who have gone before me on the bridge looking down. I'll add you as well. See you again somewhere....sometime. TAG.

Jesus loves American Football

tebow of the denver broncos is the latest in a long line of players who either thank jesus or point a finger to heaven when they score a touchdown or slam some guys head into a concussion.. oddly you don't see bowlers doing the same praise jesus dance for knocking over some pins, i guess its not that exciting to jesus .

I was a true believer until the Bills' season tanked. Must be the dark Satanic forces during the last days have overtaken the King of the North (Buffalo) by the King of the South (Miami). I will be waiting to see truth & justice prevail again. (Just not this season.) That will, of course, signal the coming apocalypse. (Buffalo winning a Superbowl.)

but i'm finding it impossible because i can't bring myself to put in phrases such as "god's true people", "love motivates us to....." , etc, etc.

Had one done on left arm. Heart for Mom. Had roses on the other arm with wife's name. Enjoy showing them off in front of JW's. The expressions on their faces is priceless.
