  Contributions ,how the Society CONTROLS the funds of a congragation

  i'm not sure if anyone has started a post about contributions recently ,but if there is an accounts servant here please free to correct me or shed some more light .what i'm about to say is 100% accurate and applies to congragations in britain (don't ask me how just ...join the dots).

  the society controls all the funds that are coming in the kingdom hall all of the time .the way this works out is as follows :you put any money in any of the contribution boxes and in the end all money are added to together and deposited to the congragation's bank account .the worldwide donations leave the account as a direct debit to the society every week and the rest stays in the account .now comes the interesting bit :once the account goes over 5000 we are instructed to send the rest to the society as a cheque and is held in their account for as long as the congragation doesn't needed back .this way all but 5000 are held in the society's account .any other experiences ?.

  What Year Will JWs Start To Ask, Are The GB Pulling Our Leg? 2020, 2030 or 2050?

  i can see this game being played until 2050, there is enough cash to last until the middle of the century, if all print is shut off.

  when will the lights snap on, and the majority of the jws figure "we were tricked and let's keep our kids from making our mistakes.

  how far can you see in your "mind's eyes" the barnums of bethel moving the circus tents before the audience realizes the show is long over?

  I think with the advent of the internet, more & more WT children will wake up & leave. With a steady decline, especially in affluent & educated areas, the WT will have the cash eventually dry up. And, as we all heard a million times over "When Jehovah fails to provide, we'll take that as our work being complete". Hopefully sooner than later.

  a really TRUE Christian wouldn't apologise

  for not having candy or treats to give the little beggars when they hit him up with "trick or treat?!".

  a really true christian would give a tract about satan or the demons, or at least a quick sermon about how much god hates what they are doing.. i, on the other hand, apologised.

  my wife is still very active and a heartfelt apology was the best i could do...but it's progress!.

  Had a woman in a hall I went to that had a big poster on her door explaining to children why she didn't celebrate, inviting them back any other time for candy. I'm sure the 5-9 yr olds were impressed.

  i have only just recently found this site, in fact only recently gone online to do research of my own about jws.

  before i left i had only gone on my gut instinct, not even realising i was not alone with my feelings.

  the week i was appointed an elder some 11 years ago, i had had to write to a congregation many miles away from me about how unloving they were (more details below).. not long after i started to have concerns about jws, expecially as the message of 'following the bibles message' subtly changed to 'follow the fds', this did not sit well with me.

  Welcome H@L; You will find many of us who were elders, pioneers & Bethelites all realizing the corruption & hypocrisy of this organization.   A problem with my daughter

  should i try to dissuade my daughter from being baptized?

  she doesn't seem to be in hurry.

  all her " friends " are already baptized, some since early childhood which is ridiculous in my opinion.

  it seems to me that some new light needs to be generated if the governing body (gb) of jws is to be considered as the faithful and discreet slave (fds).. .

  (a) gb needs to be around as an entity when selected by jesus during his parousia.

  Long time Lurker, ready to join in...

  hi all, i'm a long time lurker, ready to join in and add my two cents worth now and then!

  i was in the religion for 25 years, out now for 8, along with my husband, daughter, and son!

  i would have to say pretty much the whole time i was in i didnt want to be, pretty much "dreaded" all aspects of it, meetings, service, assemblies, and talks, i hated talks, man o man would i be grouchy the whole week i had a scheduled talk.. we didnt have much family in, but lots of friends and many jw employees, pretty much lost all that, down to just one jw employee left(thats a good thing).
