Need advice
by Darkknight757 inhi.i've been pouring over this site for the past few days looking for some advice and i hope there is someone here that can help a guy out.
i'm desperate.....short bio: i came into the organization after high school and shortly after married a wonderful girl who was born-in.we have been happily married now for nearly 20 years and things were well until 2015 hit.
by the way, i currently serve as an elder and have the ""privilege"" of being the "watchtower overseer".. either here nor there, we were told we would never have children but late last year my wife became prego!!

I too, as many others here served as an elder. Gradual fading is typically is the most effective way to leave. Ask your wife her feelings about the WBTS. Avoid the overwhelming desire to throw everything at her at once. This is a long term process; give it time. Try to come to a consensus of what you two really believe to be true & go from there. Good luck. -

Money woes show it ain't the truth
by OnTheWayOut injehovahs people do not beg for money.
[...] we have never considered it proper to solicit money for the lords cause, after the common custom .
it is our judgment that money raised by the various begging devices in the name of our lord is offensive, unacceptable to him, and does not bring his blessing either upon the givers or the work accomplished.

Never miss an opportunity to reverse witness. I use the " I'm familiar with you religion & have just a couple of questions..." I never leave them on the defensive rather I want to get them to think. I know the odds are low but it just makes me feel good to redeem myself from all the crap I tried to shove down every else's throat for 50 yrs. -

Prayer Question I Had After Sundays Watchtower...
by freemindfade inwhile i was sitting through another grueling watchtower, dying from my brain being turned into cult pudding, i had this thought after i heard this read: .
when we express our most intimate thoughts to god in prayer, he may answer us through a bible passage, an article in a magazine, or an encouraging word from a fellow believer.
-august 2015 watchtard.

I prayed fervently to God to wreak his mighty vengeance against the Giants on Sunday & justify my beliefs that the Buffalo Bills would be on their way to the Superbowl. But, alas, I must not have prayed enough. Had I only sacrificed my firstborn. ( She's not my favorite anyway) I most assuredly would have come away with a win. What does God want? Please email me with your requirements for a guaranteed win next Sunday. ( I have more kids) -

Hi Perry;
My mom, a steadfast JW, passed away last year. Still, she never disowned me. Showed up at my wedding, against all JW doctrine. I believe some of the things I was taught as a JW. Not all of it was crap. One take away is the belief everyone comes back. I hope to see my mom again as I believe you will too. At that time, I will get to tell all of these hypocrites to f#%k themselves. Yeah..... some things are worth waiting for.......

Don't worry about me. Please pray for the Buffalo Bills this football season. I want to see them win the Superbowl. I will definitely take that as a sign that the END IS NEAR! -

Has anyone thought of the spin that the "society" will put on bethel layoffs?
by Lied2NoMore infirst, how about a joke?.
what do you call someone who just turned apostate?.
im thinking sometime in the future the society will put a spin on what is happening similar to what has been done in the past.. they will say apostasy once again reared its ugly head in the organization and layoffs was the only way to "cleanse" the organization.. once disgruntled ones begin to use their voice, they will be forced to strike back with some spin to make all those who have the guts to complain look like they were the problem.. good theory huh?.

Those of us that were in the cult know this oh so well. My brother is a congregation overseer. He's very intelligent & could have easily got a college degree. He's now 63 & had to collect his social security early. He drives a school bus for extra cash. It breaks my heart to see him struggle at this point in life. I still talk to him on occasion, bringing up concrete arguments tactfully. He has those JW blinders on & there is no reaching him. At this point in his life it would probably be pointless anyway. I'd rather see him happy in his delusion than heartbroken over all the lost opportunities.
