Hello everyone
by Lancashirelass ini just wanted to add my name to the many number of people who have awakened from the cult.
i have been lurking for probably 2 years now.

2 elders just came to my door. I smiled and told them no.
by schnell innot playing their game, as i've learned here.
they came to my door to find me with a full beard and a nightmare before christmas hoody, playing a video game where the characters "do not act according to bible principles", and i happily answered the door.
i simply smiled and told them no when they asked if i have a minute.

How to argue with a JW who says the org never said the end in 75
by dogon ini have argued with several jws who are now being trained to deny the org ever said the end in 75, what is your approach?.

I lived it. Got married during the scare of 75. Wasn't in love but didn't want to die. Paid for that mistake for the next 34 years. It wasn't fair to the ex-wife & it wasn't fair to me. But I did survive. Got out of the marriage & remarried the love of my life. Have been married now for 7 years. The ex-wife stayed in the cult only to die of a drug overdose. So much of being one of the "Happiest People On Earth....."

Question for New Yorkers
by EdenOne inquick question because of a current writing project i have in hands .... if you live on staten island, what would be the assembly hall you would attend for a circuit assembly ?.
another question: in 2014 were there still circuit assemblies?
or had it been already narrowed down to special assembly days?.

"The G.B. is neither inspired nor infallible"
by smiddy inthat admission in the feb.17 ,study edition of the watchtower , " who is leading gods people today ?
" "the governing body is neither inspired, nor infallible, therefore it (they/we) can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction .".
have the many jehovahs witnesses past and present who have lost their lives by refusing blood transfusions due to the prohibition on blood tranfusions by jehovahs witnesses really got the sense of this statement ?.

Witnesses need to ask themselves that if the GB is neither inspired or infallible, whose responsible for the deaths and abuses of innocent sheep when they flip flop on doctrinal matters? Certainly this is totally incompatible with an organization led by "love" with Jesus guiding all matters. The only conclusion is the obvious one; this is just another manmade religion & it's time to get out..... Don't worry about finding the "one true religion". It's not here......you're not it.......

Your current thoughts regarding the holidays?
by HereIgo indue to the holidays fast approaching, i was curious about your thoughts and plans for the holidays.
i have been celebrating them now for the past couple of years and ill be honest it still feels weird to celebrate, mainly christmas and halloween.
thanksgiving seems normal because growing up as a jw we always celebrated it anyway (well the day after, but that's another thread) anyway, has it become the norm for you to celebrate now or are you used to not celebrating?.

I married a "worldly woman" whose family celebrates everything big time. I have no problem with any holiday after realizing the flawed thinking I was indoctrinated with. As a witness, my mother always celebrated Thanksgiving & even as an elder, I would take my family out for Thanksgiving. I still, though, have some reluctance to sing "Happy Birthday" & I can't wrap a present for crap...

I was on the RBC plumbing crew in upstate NY for 10 yrs. Worked on numerous projects. All tradesmen owned & brought their own tools. I would like to know whose tools they're selling.

i went into the city to where i knew there was a "cosmopolitan witnessing" trolley, because i wanted to ask a simple bible-based question.

It was their understanding that it would take all of the 1,000 year reign of Christ for mankind to reach perfection. In fact at the end of the 1,000 years when Satan was released, their would be a substantial number of wicked people joining him. All were then to be destroyed. So wicked people would still be around after Armageddon.

The Anointed Class: Do They Have Spirits?
by Cold Steel ini realize that the anointed class inherits heaven while the great crowd inherits a renewed planet earth, but how and when are the anointed chosen?
are these people born with spirits or do they grow them as they live?
when they die, they don't sleep but go right to heaven, right?

My father-in-law was of the anointed. Neither he nor anyone else I knew as anointed would give any information on how or when they were chosen. Nice scam until everyone else decided they too were of the anointed. That's when the GB decided to scrap the whole idea of them all being equally in charge. They could see this would present a problem should all these new ones want a say in how the organization was being run.
