I guess there is no easy way to do this. Cold turkey is probably gonna be the best way for me, I'll try to get this over with as quickly as possible so that I can get on with my life.

Thats pretty clever BE, slow and painless. My biggest problem is that 3 of the elders at my congregation are my brother-in-laws. And since my wife's family is very close they pretty much know everything that goes on. Something was telling me to choose another congregation when I first got married. Oh well

Sounds like an excellent idea Gromit. Try asking him will children who are to young to make a religious decision also die in armageddon? You can also ask him will anyone who's not a witness be spared? Then you can ask why do good people even though they are'nt witnesses have to die in armageddon?
That should keep things interesting. By the way how did you come up with the name Gromit?

I'll be stepping down from a MS. I don't plan on even giving them a reason why, I'll try to just leave it as personal reasons. And if they push the issue I'll just refuse to go into it. Of course they'll probably already have a good idea why tho, I probably should have never mentioned I had doubts last year.

I've thought about doing that before Xander but the hall that I presently attend is where most of my wife's family attends also. So if I just up and transfer I'm postive that they'll be very suspicious. I'll probably be better off just stepping down at my present congregation and then disappearing.
My problem is I'm not sure how to go about announcing that I want to step down without causing to many waves.

I've decided not to go into any detail with the elders about why I'm stepping down, that way hopefully they won't have a reason to DF me. But then again they know I was talking about having doubts about 6 months ago.
I'm thinking maybe I should just write a short letter saying that I'm stepping down for personal reasons and just leave it at that. I'm also thinking that I'm going to skip the slow fade routine and just stop attending meetings once I step down.

JW Folklore ?
by dobby ingot this in an email today from someone - thought it might be of interest.
we've all heard or read scores of these, so if this is not new sorry to make you read it again.. of course the fact it was related at a circuit assembly makes it the stone cold truth :)!.

Has anyone heard this story? A couple of witness were out in the field ministry and they accidentally took a door that was a "do not call". The man who answered the door was violently opposed to witnesses. He told the publishers that if it was'nt for the 2 large men dressed in white standing next to them he would have killed them both. Naturally the 2 publishers looked around but they did'nt see anyone that fit the man's description.
So supposedly this was an example of angelic protection. I probably did'nt tell the story exactly as it took place but you can kinda get the gist of the situation. I don't know whether to beleive that or dismiss it as fantasy.

Where did this whole class thing originate from? Is there a scriptural basis for there being so many different classes?
