Would you rather have more time or more cash?
by Leander init seems like unless you're incredibly wealthy or lucky that its impossible to have both at the same time, especially if you're a working stiff.
right now between my wife and i we make a fairly decent living, however we don't have a lot of time to do things together (or alone) until the weekend comes around.
and we all know how short weekends can be, not to mention if a lot of errands need to be done that can eat up your time fairly quick.

For me leaving the borg behind is one of the best decisions I could have made, I could'nt imagine working the job I have now and still having to make countless meetings, book studies and field service time. Then there's the time spent preparing talks and all the other time involved in studying pages and pages of WTS drivel.
All of this got me to thinking would I be happier with less money and more time. I guess the saying the grass is greener on the other side is a good one because I kinda feel that I'd be happier with less money and material possessions and more time to do other things. Just give me a library card and a PC with a internet connection and I'm good to go.
So what do you guys think? more money or more time -

I think I've reached the end of my candle with full time corporate jobs. Sitting in one spot for 8-10 hours is getting harder and harder for me. I've been kind of kicking the idea around of becoming a real estate agent. I love real estate but I've never worked in sales before and I have no idea of what to expect as far as pay goes in the real estate broker/agent world. One advantage I do have is that I know the city (Chicago) and the surrounding suburbs fairly well and I have no problems with going from the best neighborhood to the worst to show a property. I have a few questions that maybe someone could answer for me:
Do real estate agents work strictly on commission or do they have salaries as well?
How much of a percentage (if any) do agents make from the sale of a property?
Do agents have any restrictions on buying properties that they are personally interested in?
Whats the process for becoming a licensed agent?
What advice would you give someone who's looking to get into that field?

I'm looking for information on how to get a loan from non conventional lending institutions.
Here's my scenario, I want to get started in real estate development. My goal is to purchase just enough land to build one single family home and once the house has been completed I'd like to sell it for market value. From my preliminary research I can earn enough cash from that one sale to be able to use conventional lending institutions for any future projects. Also that one project will put me on the road to gaining experience which will be useful down the line when I want to get into bigger real estate projects.
However I have a small problem. I don't have the money for the down payment that banks typically ask for, which is why I'm seeking a loan from other sources as opposed to banks. So my questions are:
What might be some good places to look for non conventional loans? (as a rule I'd like to avoid the local area loan shark)
How difficult is it to put together a well written business plan?
Whats the best way to find and contact private investors?
Thanks for any assistance

Name some must have rock records
by Leander ini've spent a lot of time on allmusic.com and it amazes me how much nirvana is mentioned when the reviewers rate other albums.
so its a no brainer that nirvana's work should probably have a place in every rock collection, but what are some other albums every rock fan should listen to if not own.

Wow I did'nt there were so many other music junkies like myself. I'll definitely checking out some of those suggestions.
What about heavy metal? What are some good metal albums without the evil overtones? (or is there good metal without evil ;^)
