The Watchtower are humans
by WireRider inthe watchtower are humans.
they have never had any conversation with any god, let alone one by a made up name.
they never had any power at all bestowed upon them.

ATT: WARNING
by EJ257 inplease be aware of everything that is happening around the world at this moment in time.
this goes to anyone, ex-communicated, removed, serving, believer and non.
at this point in my observations i have realized many religions/ideologies know there is some sort "end of time" or a transition into a new order of living in this earth.

Nope. You are simply wrong.
We are actually living in the best time ever, thanks to science.
Keep the tinfoil hat; I won't be needing one.

Things WT Would Have To Do To Be An Acceptable Religion
by JW_Rogue indrop shunning or at least drop shunning among family members.
make blood transfusions a conscience matter, no more hlc.
drop the two witness rule, mandatory reporting of child abuse, no privileges for offenders.

Based on Sam herd's video, the R&F DO write in and the bOrg DOES respond to their feedback.
We need to bombard headquarters with this list. It's simple, concise and reassuring; give us what we want and we'll go away.

Did I imagine a brief thaw in the Watchtower injunction against going to university?
by slimboyfat inokay i was talking to an elder and he said me going to university was a bad idea and i should have listened to the society and not gone.
but i said that when i went to university the watchtower was saying it might not be a bad idea to go to, as long as you do it for the "right reasons", don't associate with worldly people, and keep clear of "damaging ideas".
but basically they said it was okay, in this "changing world" and job market to go to university.

There absolutely was a thaw and I took full advantage of it. Obtained my 4-yr degree while serving as an MS and was even interviewed with another JW (who was living on campus; I merely commuted) on a convention part about balancing our priorities. We both specifically mentioned "college," "university" and "degree" more than once. Only in the last 3 years or so have they started tightening the noose again. -

For the Supporters of Those Who Love Jehovah
by lovesjehovah ini am jehovah's witness, despite some of the questionable teachings, crimes, and other outlandish behaviors of specific people affiliated with the religion.
i know that my relationship with jehovah is not influenced by any outside factors.

Hey, this is me... I'm the guy on the left! =)
by Divergent in(picture taken from the wt study some weeks back).
all these years, i've always dreaded waking up early for field service.
i'm a night owl & love to sleep late, so it was excruciating for me to have to wake up early in the mornings & go door knocking.

Are we participants in this forum because of bouts of "loneliness"?
by Wonderment ini wonder how many of us here hold on to this meeting place out of "loneliness.
could it be that we harbor feelings of "abandonment" and "loneliness" from being left cold and dry by the wt people and our families?
perhaps we do have a need to reach out to people with similar experiences.

Personally, I've never experienced loneliness. I enjoy solitude way too much (probably even border on misanthropy, but I try to curb that).
Actually, I felt more isolated, exposed, ashamed, vulnerable and on the verge of losing my mind when I was still an active dub. To be surrounded by nosey, closed-minded, overall dumb, uneducated, fake, insincere, dick-waving, hypocritical, back-stabbing religitard assholes with their conditional love was far more torturous than ever being off on my own.

I knew a guy just like that, Divergent! He always had stories or illustrations that included naked or topless women--even if they weren't essential elements to the plot. lol
my creepy story: I was mid-20s, MS, pioneer goody 2-shoes. My mom--not bad looking. She had a part on the circuit assembly. When it was over & everyone was visiting & making plans, this really creepy guy in his mid-30s approached me. I'd known this guy most of my life, but he wigged everyone out with his strange, dark behavior. He walked right up to me and said, "wow. your mom looks good! if your dad ever dies, i will ask her out."

2015 Worldwide Memorial Attendance: Another Sign of Decline
by steve2 injw memorial attendance last year - 2014 - was about 50,000 shy of 20 million.
some posters on this forum had confidently predicted before the 2014 memorial that attendance would hit more than 20 milion.
they were wrong.. now, in 2015, and the memorial falling on a weekend night (where attendance is historically much higher), attendance has not only failed to top 20 milion but has declined by more than 87,000 in attendance over 2014:.
