Lots of Noise About the 'Quiet Beatle'

the upcoming focus on george includes an exhibit in la next month, a scorcese film and a book by harrison's widow.

besides 'something', my favorite beatles' songs by harrison would be: here comes the sun, while my guitar gently weeps and taxman.. .

I am trying to figure out my future if I should go to college or just keep working a regular job...............................

i am faced with a dilema right now and need some advice on what i should do with my future, i realize that eventually i'll grow old and will need to somehow work my way up so i have something to fall back on, like someone told me once i don't really have a support structure to fall back on, if something happened where i could not work i would probably wind up homeless, moving back in with my parents house would be out of the question because i would never go back to the borg.. this is my situation right now, everything is going good, i love my job, i am single no kids, i work at a hosptal making $10/hour doing janitorial work, also my rent is very cheap about $350 a month for rent on a duplex, i live less then a mile from work, right now i have the most ideal situation to save alot of money even on $10/hr job, but also i realize that everything can go all at once, if i ever lost my job since i don't have no support structure and could not find work i would be sol.. now to some of the things i like doing, i like to drive, one of the things i have always wanted to do is learn truck driving, since i don't have no extra responsibilites, i am still having a hard time though making a decision, on one hand i like my current job, but on the other hand i realize that i do have to plan for the future, if anyone can give me some advice i am at a loss of what to do, also because of the way the econommy is here in the us right now sometimes i think its best to stick with the job that i have but still don't know whats best..

personally, i wouldn't rely on a job that requires electricity to function, such as any computer related job.

i'm in the trades(airflow tech/tinsmith) and if the power infrastructure went out, i can still work. analog will survive the digital crash.

if some type of revolution happens, choose a profession that will still be needed. clothing, food, water, air and shelter will always be needed.

but thats just me. i like building things.

need advice to free family

my family and me havent talked in over a year since i found out about the cult.. yesterday my mother texted me that she misses me and she loves me.

short message.. yesterday my sister also texted me to ask how i am.

also short message.. now, i am an apostate and they are not allowed to talk to me.

i really want to free my family, but i don't want to mess up any chance by replying in the wrong way.

they have come to me to talk, so i have the ball in my hands. i just don't know which way to run with it.

last time i saw any of them was when i tryed to show my father the facts. but it was just me and dad argueing. and he hasn't tried to contact me.

and mother and sister basiclly never got to say goodbye to me. last time they saw my face i was still "jdub". then "POOF" i disappear.

what would you do if this was your situation?

man im so drained right now and tired i cant say a whole lot.. but you know, i was thinking about going back to them and just to see a bit more about it all.. i dont know to be very honest with you if its thr right thing to do or not on a personal level.. .

i guess i need to mull things over.. .

any suggestions from previous jw's would be awesome for me.

whenever i began to fear that i was sinning against the jdubs and god, i would get back into the jw doctrine research and it would confirm that they are a cult and that my brain washing was still in effect.

you need a reason to not trust them. and research will give you lots of reasons.

you only need one reason to stop trusting false prophets.

Watchtower, 2014 and Crooklyn properties

as we approach 2014, the wt appears to be gearing up for what could potentially be the biggest turning point in their 135-year history.

this new york times article talks about a "complicated formula" involving at least two wt properties slated for eventual residential "re-zoning" which will generate significant property tax revenue needed for the brooklyn park project.... http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/02/nyregion/housing-deal-for-brooklyn-bridge-park-ensures-parks-completion.html?_r=1.

if anyone comes across any details of this "complicated formula", please do share.... it appears that 2014 will be a very interesting year....

he's only moving because he's being told to.

strange that jehovah wouldn't use his people to conquer all of crooklyn and give it to them like the land of milk and honey.

so will that building NOW be destroyed at armagedddon since it's going to be worldly? or will it carry some of his "spirit" and care for the new people moving in, converting them to jdub through osmosis?

so many questions. i'll just have to wait on the org so i don't run ahead. i would be wise not to speculate...

jehovah's witness children will continue to doorknock neighbourhoods with adults who have failed to gain police background checks after a bid to stop the practice failed this week.. gippsland carpenter steven unthank, a former member of the religion who says he was abused as a teen by a church elder, was given approval by victoria's chief magistrate to take the unusual step of launching a private prosecution of the religion over its refusal to require ministers to gain police checks, but says he cannot afford the $350 fee for filing the charges.. mr unthank yesterday said he could not pursue the religion on his own.. he said it was a disgrace that neither victoria police nor the justice department would enforce the working with children act, which requires ministers of religion to gain police checks before working unsupervised with minors.. the religion's corporate arm in australia, the watch tower society, says it does not believe its ministers need to obtain background checks to work with children because they do not typically work unsupervised with children.. ``it's an absolute beatup,'' a spokesman said.
