First thought: This is how we REALLY treat our fellow sheep! We abuse them and hurt them in ways you can't imagine!

I used to text during the meetings. :p I was having major anxiety attacks and would text another dub friend who would encourage me that I can do it, I did great just getting there, go outside and get air, if I needed to go home, then go. I'd also text my df'd brother. lol

Dumb ass family moved in next door with autistic kid JEHOOVER HELP!
by Witness 007 infirst off i have no problem with the kid......his mum though is a dumb sh#t country trash kinda gal, just moved in.
right now i'm in my bedroom being blasted by 80's music.
she put a stereo in her tin shed which is next to our bedrooms, so her autistic kid can play loud music...or should i say, same f#cking song over and over again.

She definitely needs to address the problem better. It's terrible that she's a single parent to this boy now. Support is the biggest thing Special Needs parents need and who better to do that than your spouse? Someone who gets it. Parenting my boy is sometimes the hardest thing in the world to do! (On the flip side, I find him to also be the easiest kid to parent because, for him, everything is concrete. I don't have to figure out nuances of behavior with him like I do w/ my neuro-typical kids.)
It sounds like this woman needs some outside resources to help her son.
I still think you should call the police because you have ALREADY tried talking to her and have been blown off. Calling the police will maybe give her a wakeup call. It's not a huge issue -- the kid's music is too loud, she needs to have him turn it down, she won't, so let the cops do it.
She's using her son's diagnosis as an excuse. Autism is the REASON, it should never be the ESCUSE.
My boy screams and freaks out if I tell him we're leaving the house. Reason: Autism. Excuse? Not at all. I realize the autism makes him want to stay home, in his little, safe, coccoon. But in order to function in real life, sometimes you have to go outside your little comfort zone. So we go anyway. Letting him use it as an excuse would mean letting him stay home and, therefore, changing the whole family's day to suit him.
The neighbor is using autism as an excuse to let her son listen to his music at ridiculous levels and disrupt the neighbors. Not cool. She is doing him a disservice, and herself, because it's NOT going to make for good neighbor relations if she keeps it up.

Is a child up for adoption supposed to promise love & respect to the potential father?
by discreetslave intuesday, october 4. offer your very selves to him: a living sacrifice, dedicated and fit for his acceptance.rom.
12:1, the new english bible.. before someone who is alienated from god can become a member of gods family of approved servants, he first needs to make a solemn promise to jehovah.
to understand why, imagine a respectable father who shows kind interest in an orphaned youth and wishes to adopt him as a member of his own family.

That makes me so angry. What a bunch of ridiculous garbage!
Lore summed it up nicely with this: Adopting a child is a responsibility an adult takes on for the benefit of the child. . . not the other way around.

Did you have any Elders CO's/DO's that were "Hung up" on certain things????
by karter inwe had an elder that was hung up on mens haircuts he had a real thing about how short mens hair should be and even told one bro off for parting his hair down the middle.. even told one bro to shave off his sideburns.. a c.o who was paronoid about sound always telling the bro in charge off.. .
a d.o who orded the attendants to remove crying babys from assemblys on more than a few occations...hans hubler for those that know him..

Another issue: Highlights.... Sisters could dye or highlight their hair any old way they wanted, but the minute my brothers did blonde highlights, one elder actually took the mics from them both right as the WT was starting and told them they can't do mics because of their hair. Asshole. Later, the brother conducting the WT said he saw it all happen and was pissed.

I was raised in CT where the standard rule was no denim skirts. I moved to the Southwest where denim skirts are EVERYWHERE. I kind of liked the freedom of that, actually. When I went back to CT to visit, I made sure to wear a denim skirt. :)

LisaBOBeesa: You're welcome. My son has Asperger's Syndrome, a condition on the autism spectrum, so when I see narrow-minded garbage being spewed about ASDs (autism spectrum disorders),I tend to get a little irate.
