we are having a boy and can't decide on names.
we want something a little different, not in 'the top 10'.
it also has to be english or german orgin.
I like English names, Weyland, Coel, Stewart, Hyde, Brayden.

yesidid.
I have to agree with you Blondie for today, but this man lived over 100 years, the majority at Bethel. When he was strong he was involved in making decisions that people died for. Back then the GB was very much involved in doctrinal mandates. That is why I do not have pity for him.
Again JMO.

I personally think there is no comparison of the GB, and the rank and file publisher. That is like saying that what happens in Government is not the President's responsibility. The buck has to stop someplace. I DO NOT FEEL ANY PITY FOR MEMBERS OF THE GB. The GB makes the rules that the publisher follows. They are the ones that explain "new light." They are the ones that make excuses, change their stand on blood, political cards etc. Many thousands of people have died with their blessing. Remember Malawi??? The AWAKE article pictures of young people that died because of the blood issue, that now has changed? I agree with Mouthy that I feel pity for the rank and file those that are simply mislead, BUT not the GB. They are covered in innocent blood.

my sweetie and i will be visiting my parents in a couple of weeks.
they know all about how much in love we are and jw mom always asks about him, how he's doing, when we first started dating she asked all about what i liked about him, how he treats me, if he's easygoing and i can have a laugh with him etc... .
so she is happy about us.
First congrats on your wedding. He sounds like a very nice person. As a mom with three daughters, I can assure you your mom will be more interested in his concern for you, then your living arrangements. You are no longer a child, so mom might be a tad disappointed, but come on she knows you are a woman. Let her know that you love him, he is good to you...and obviously has great respect for parents since he is asking for your hand in marriage. I find it quiet honorable of him. As a mom that is what we want for our daughters, someone that treats our girls with dignity and respect, and loves them like we do. Your mom will be fine, and you have a wonderful life.

i was converted in the early 1980's.. warlock .
Kind of both. My family are all JW's going back to Russell, but my dad left the religion when I was 4. He allowed all my JW relatives, aunts, grandparents etc to take us kids to the meetings. WARNING!!! Do not let your kids go with grandma to the meetings and assemblies. I loved them so had no idea that the religion was a cult. Got baptized when I was 18, left when I was 40.

it's been a while since i've posted - been busy with family, work and school.
missed a lot of you - see a lot of new faces!
just had to get on tonight and let you old timers know that i finally did it - i graduated with my bs in computer science.
Good to hear. You should be very proud of yourself. Congradulations for freeing yourself from the borg, but also working hard in education to have some kind of financial freedom as well. Good Luck!

sorry i do not post much but i do not have much original things to share because everyone here seems to cover it all.
i have had something strike very close to home and i thought i might share it incase someone out there might be thinking the same thing and is trying to put their finger on it.
i should give a small history on it to set it up.. growing up in the truth i was a model young man.
What a nice post Briguy. I am so happy for you that your wife agrees with you on leaving. Good luck now you can worship God, instead of a publishing company. Glad you are here with us, please give our regards to your wife.

i'm a "loner", so no one is following me, and i'm not following anyone.. maybe i tend slightly towards being a follower, but it better be worth my time, or i'll be back to a loner once more.
.
I have always been in leadership roles, but I have no problem following as long as the leader is competent. I would never follow if the leader really has no idea what he or she is talking about.
