  My story...

  okay, i've chatted with several of you and i thought it was time to tell my story.

  it all began during the gulf war early in january 1991. i was concerned about the war becoming the end of the world and naturally, because of my lifestyle, i began asking myself what i intended to do with my life.

  a pioneer sister worked in the office where i worked, i knew she was a witness and studied the bible so i asked her opinion on what was happening.

  Thanks for sharing your story with us..it really takes alot of courage. Sometimes there is healing in allowing yourself expression of the pain, whether that is through writing or speaking. I sure hope that you are still in your children's lives. She really had no right to run to another state with your kids. You certainly have some legal rights to explore here. Glad you are posting..there are alot of nice people who will be able to help. If nothing else we are all concerned for you and your kids.

  i have been reading everyones comments, this is all pretty new to me, but i posted on the topic related to family and being shunned.

  i was raised a jw but left at age 15, i am the only one in my family to reject the "family" religion.

  so, as you probably already guessed i am not the favorite daughter!.

  as many here know..my hubby has terminal cancer.

  well hospice came today and we discussed many things.

  one of them was a 'pastor of your choice".

  Dear Snoozy;

  I can't believe that no one has come to see your husband or returned the pastor's call. They say they show love and we all know that it is lip service. I have a Grandmother who has been a JW all her life who is in a nursing home. Guess who makes sure that she is taken care of and has visits. Yup, the apostate granddaughter. I am the one they all hate, and yet all the faithful JW's have forgotten all about her. It makes you want to heave.

  Just don't forget you are important too. You love your hubby and this is incredible stressful time for you. What happens is you get so busy making sure he is taken care of you forget your own needs. Make sure you take to hospice for yourself. Take up the offer to talk to that pastor. If your husband asks you why, just tell him that is a part of the hospice program. JW's know nothing about what agencies offer he will believe you. I am thinking of you.

  Colder than a witches.....

  arghhhh!!

  it's cold in jersey today.

  normally, my girth protects me, but as i was having one of my weekend cigars, i noticed that i had to keep switching hands while i warmed the other.....gar!.

  Here in NYS it is now 14 outside with the wind chill -8. It is freezing all over the East Coast.

  Oh I just finished a cigar. Might be a girl but I happen to like them also. Just smoked a real good Cuesta-Rey.

  Dear Golden Girl;

  I am so sorry that you have been going through this. Hospice is a wonderful program!!!! Why not allow this woman pastor to come and talk to you. She could be very supportive and helpful. It is easy to be the caretaker, but who is taking care of YOU? YOU are important also!!! My thoughts are with you.

  I would have to say like everyone else public speaking, confidence to speak what I believe to be true. They also teach some negatives like manipulative behavior. I have to watch that one. But it does come in handy sometimes. LOL

  hey hows everyone doing... i am a resident of edmonton in canada, and i am only 16 years old, i just left the jw religion.

  i just knew it wasnt in my heart, my parents dont care but i told them that i dont want to go to any meeting or talk to any of our old friends.. they still dont know why..but i fell like it was to much of a currupted situation..i felt like i was taking orders from man, not from god.

  i was not baptized yet, but i was going strong in the ministry as a unbaptized publisher.

  Hi and welcome to the board. I would have to say you have alot of balls for a 16 year old. I would also have to say that your parents are very different then most JW parents. I have seen them basically lock up their kids or kick them out of their homes if kids said what you said. Be thankful they seem to be caring parents.

  Regrets.............

  please correct my thinking if i'm wrong, but........... i regret pretty much all of the jw friends whom i've loved.... and now lost due to my now no longer viewing things the same as them.. i regret the many very special events in life which i shared with them.

  am i right to feel this way?.

  It is always good to remeber what you experienced in your life has made you the person you are today. I know for myself I really did believe all the lies and felt turning my back on others is what GOD required. Feel sorry for your old friends they are really mislead. Be happy that you saw through all of it. Love life and all it has to offer, instead of the years you were told it was going to end. Just my thoughts.

  The Pain of my Daughter

  my oldest daughter wrote this to her father to show her pain of his choosing his religion over her.

  of course, once he read the letter he told her he has just choosen jehovah.

  she wanted me to share this with all of you, and especially if there are any jw's that are lurking on this board, to show what a child feels when religion is more important than your children.. dear daddy;.

  Thank you all for your concern of my daughter. It has been very difficult for all of my three girls. Yes wildfire he does profess to be of the annointed and is an elder in good standing. It is amazing to me that no one wonders why he never sees or talks to his children. If indeed this is what GOD wants fathers to behave life I will be pagan.
