  I just got fired and I may not have enough money to go to Italy

  i just got fired from my job as a waiter because she said i sucked or something along those lines.

  i have a week before the fee is due, which is $1,700, and thats not including the plane ticket, my digging equipment, and extra spending money.

  i already made a $300 deposit, and $1,700 is only for 3 weeks.

  My daughter just graduated with a degree in Anthropology. While in school she went to both China and Turkey. I don't know where you are in your education, but please stick it out. Maybe right now you need not to travel, keep your money and look for other opportunities. Vanessa recieved some financial help from grants at her college, but right now it is to late for you to apply for it. Think about next year, and have your advisor look for these grants.

  She has majored in cultural anthro, and realizes now that in order for her to do what she would like has to return to graduate school. Keep us posted, and good luck!

  Songs that make you cry...

  i've been kind of sad the past few days for several reasons, but, there are certain songs that just cause the tears to flow whenever i hear them (and especially alone).

  only time by enya.

  i know that this song is often linked to the sept 11 attacks, but it really is just so hauntingly beautiful.

  hubby and i got on the topic last night.

  he was wondering what i was eating- a frozen jello pudding cup.

  i remember getting them at the assemblies, especially the hot summer district assemblies.

  My Dad died on Friday

  i dont often post on here but lurk everday.

  i was an elder for 11 years, raised as a witness from birth and eventually left in 2002 aged 42.. my dad died on friday aged 87. he was a witness baptized in 1940. he was congregation servant and then elder in hull, england.. we were arranging his funeral tonight with my 2 brothers who are still witness elders.

  all they were interested in was what he had done in the "truth".

  I am sorry to hear about your father. It doesn't matter how old someone is, it sure is a loss to you and your family.

  You have to decide if you can live with the consequences of your sending the letter. If they talk to you now, they will not after you send the letter. You have to figure out if it is worth it or not. As was mentioned what is healing is in the writing, doesn't mean you have to send it. You are in my thoughts.

  Upset & Need to Vent to Compassionate Ears

  i am so grateful to have a place where my experiences being treated like one of the walking dead can be understood and empathized with.. i was opening my mail last night and there was a bill from local hospital.

  i opened it a bit confused because i have not been in a hospital in 2 years.

  it was a detailed bill for my stepson.

  So he could not tell you the kid got hurt, but made sure that the hospital had your address to send you the bill? Wow it never ceases to amaze me how mean spirited these people are.

  He is a criminal. Remember anyone that rapes you committed a crime. You no matter what you did, in no way comes near what this man did.

  hello fellow jwd people....i just wanted to tell everyone "thank you" for everything on here-it has been extremely helpful for my brain to realize (i hope!!

  ) i'm doing the right thing to not be a witness anymore....as some of you may or may not know, i stoppped being a witness about 3 months ago.... it's a weird thing to not go to meetings anymroe/service/have only witness friends/think the end is coming and....soon.

  i only left b/c of intellectual reasons, so reading everyone's posts on various subjects and whatnot has been a huge help to help dispell some of the witness "truths" that i thought were true since i was 1 year old..... and, on another random note, my profile pic is actually a pic of a duck at bethel!!!

  in missouri at a ihop, a lesbian kissed another female (her gf) on the cheek, once while sitting in the restaurant.

  the manager went over to the ladies and told them they were not welcomed there and therefore had to leave.

  the women described the kiss on the cheek as a similar type of kiss to an "uncle".
