  Does a grandchild suffer because a parent leaves the organization

  while i was in the organization my parents hardly bothered wih my son even though we lived right next door to one another, for seven years, many times i strongly believed my parents took out their anger on my son because they were pissed off with me especially when i wasn't active towards the end of my departure of the org.

  but no one in my family had a clue i was plotting to leave the organization, so i wondered why they never took my boy out with them or they never took him out like they took out their other grandkids.. even after i left the organization my mother has spoken to my son three times and that is about the same with my sisters.

  what is the reason?

  I also used to visit BrendaLee's website, and she sent me her newsletter via email. Unfortunately, since she changed to pay only I haven't been getting them.

  I have no problem with anyone knowing who I am. I am notorious in my area as an apostate, so there is nothing about me that anyone doesn't know already. If you want to know alittle about me google my name. I live in Jamestown NY and when you google my name you will see it says that I am an ex-JW. Talk care OFC. You have done good by your son.

  Thank goodness your son was ok, and I still can't say this loud enough...THANK YOU GOD YOU GOT HIM AWAY FROM THE CULT!!!!!!!

  i am new to this forum, and am just starting to get over the guilt of reading posts here.

  i was raised as a witness, was disfellowshipped last year.

  all my brothers and sister left too, so my parents were devastated when i left, as i was the only one left going to meetings.

  Welcome AK glad that you are here with us. I have to agree that it is not the time to try to change your mother's mind. If it makes her happy right now, so be it. As far as you are concerned, avoid the question as much as possible. Just tell her you need a break. She doesn't have to know that you mean a break forever from a cult. To return to the cult for her would not work anyways. Obviously, she must be semi talking with you if she keeps asking you about returning. Just show her love and care right now. JMO

  today i am really pissed off at them...... i'm writing this hoping that two groups of people read this.

  First welcome RedPill!!!!!!! You do have the right to vent, you need to get it out of your system. Sometimes writing also helps. I also was in for many years and a pioneer for 10 years. What a waste, but now I can tell you that I really have a good life.

  I went back to school in my 40's, and now have a very good job. I have to tell you pioneering gave me many skills that I now use in my work. Sometimes finding even the smallest good, can make it seem not such a waste of your years. Good luck Red we are here for you.

  worst week in my life

  last monday my husband, a nice guy, after ranting for a bit about terrorists, came over to me, to kiss me i thought.

  he hit my head and then started to choke me, shouting "be healed.

  " i managed to get away from him and he kept yelling "be healed" and saying that i was bewitched and had put a curse on him.

  Wow I am so glad that you are safe. Please call a Domestic Violence hotline in your community. They have free counseling, and many have support groups. It is very empowering to speak to others that have gone through very similar experiences. We are here for you.

  I never have done right by you...

  in talking to my mom the other day (who is doing so well btw) she turned to me and said straight and as sane as can be, "i have never done right by you, don't do as i have done to you to you kids.

  " she got teary eyed and i changed the subject fast because i did not know how to take it nor could i talk with the big lump in my throat.

  i have known this my whole life, and i don't even speak it as plain as she has spoken it, but hearing out of her mouth as she sits in her wheelchair and knowing she means it from her heart and from pure love, well it messed me up a bit.

  Spark, Cog, Panda (((((((((((((((((((((hug)))))))))))))))))))) I am so sorry for all the hurt all of you had as children.

  The reason why it is so hard to hear when a parent acknowledges that they have done wrong to their kids, is the fact that once they say the words outloud and give voice to it....IT MAKES IT REAL. You lived all those years with a secret. Secrets, or hurts that have no voice are buried deep inside us. Give it time, go through the pain you feel, and this pain will no longer have control of you. There is freedom in acknowledging what really happened to you. Freedom for you, and freedom for your mother.

  We are here for you. Good luck you all are survivors, not victims of what you had no control over.
