Congrats OM
Leslie
i have read on their website that then are a noncreed religion, and welcome all sorts of views and that they encourage their members to be active in community and charities, etc,.
what do you guys know about this church?
i was thinking about checking one of the churches out around here.
Personally I have been many times to our local UU church. Mostly in the audience are professors from our local university. Very involved in environmental issues, politcal issues, community concerns. Every Sunday they begin with different traditions from every type of religion you can think of. Our local UU church uses alot of Native American rituals. I have learned traditions from the Budhist, Hindu, Native, Jewish religions. I love it...they totally believe that you can believe in anything that you want to, and it is ok. We also have attending many same sex couples. They marry them in the church, whether it is acknowledged by state law or not.
For the children they have local nature walks, teach them tolerance of all. If my children were still young that is the religion that I would take them to. My children have all told me that if they have children someday that the UU church is where they will attend so that their children will learn it is ok to love without conditions.

well i am glad to say i learnt enough to last me a life time and that i have once again returned to jwd - sooner than i thought but suitably refreshed!.
i made a topic not so long ago about a family situation, thanks for your help with that everyone and your advice was spot on.. nothing much is going on here (well nothing new) - noah is well, megan is alright and i am fine also.
mum is being a bit funny with me but nothing too serious yet, i cornered her with something and for the first time not only could she not find an answer she couldn't think of anything on the spot of her own invention to answer me but otherwise everything is as good as it can be.. anyway, nice to be back.
Glad you are back. Is the baby keepin you and Megan up at night?

i have been approved to write the cover story for local newspaper about jehovah's witnesses.
it can't be any more than 2,500 words.
this newspaper has a huge reader-base.
How about the fact that they are now producing two Watchtowers..one for publishers..one for the public. Talk about control, and not letting the public really know what they are about. Also, the fact that they are told they can no longer do research unless it is JW literature. CULT!
