  WILL YOU kindly help me?

  i've finished writing my novel (50 thousand words) about my years spent in federal correctional prison when i was an obedient little jw.. the editing and rewriting stage now commences.. i need your help!.

  here is how you can help me.. i can't know what an outside mind wants to find out concerning this experience.

  i can only conjure up what seems interesting to me.. tell me what you want to know about such a personal experience.. that will give me a checklist to compare to what i've written already.. i may have missed many little details which are very important to a reader.. i may have neglected essential questions which must be answered in order to satisfy the mind.. please offer me your curiousity.. thanking you in advance; i appreciate your taking the time to advance my novel to the finish line.. (i wrote it as a fictional work because i could not honestly write about myself without the distance of this device.. so, i made myself into a character with a different name.. the identity of everyone else is non-fiction.

  Can't wait till the book comes out. I applaud you for writing what most people would never know happened to those that were sentenced to prison.

  I pioneered with a Brother that also was in prison during the Vietnam years. I have to say that most pioneers were told that the brothers that were in prison were always treated well, that it was like a vacation because Jehovah protected them. No wonder those that experienced anything different then what was told to us, would have ever told anyone what really happened to them. I have in all these years never given it a thought until reading this thread. Thanks for telling us the truth. It really never ceases to amaze me that I was so gullible.

  Holidays - How do you feel?

  as holiday time approaches, many of us ex dubs have mixed feeling going on in our head.. are you happy and excited because now you can celebrate the holidays with family (maybe) and friends, or are you depressed or just ambivialent about the whole thing?.

  it took my a few years just to feel comfortable wishing someone a happy holiday, and a few more years before i actually celebrated a holiday.. now i celebrate every holiday, and i am always excited about the event, although i don't place any spiritually/religious meaning towards the event and i just enjoy the chance to socialize with family and friends.. what about you?.

  It took me awhile since I am holiday challenged. I had no idea how to put up a Christmas Tree, or what birthday candles to use. Once I got the swing of it I love it. Since all my family are JW's, I have made new traditions with my kids.

  everyone that chimes in on the card and letter exchanges are so upbeat just getting their pm's lifts my spirts, so.... i had an idea .

  i asked the deary and she said yes she would so love that!!.

  Three Sisters Came by the house yesterday

  i saw a car pull up in the driveway.

  i was at my computer trying to order some tickets from ticketmaster, having a hard time with some details.. then i saw one sister, two then three get out of the car......up to my door.. i had a towel on my head (just got done coloring my hair) new clothes pulled out in the living room for my grand daughter, she was laid out of the sofa watching hannah montana.........i looked like hell.

  they, of course, all dressed up.. it was around two, and i figure they had been out in service and was finishing up their time.

  It is amazing how disconnected you become. I saw a sister last weekend that really was my best friend. I felt sad, but also felt nothing. I have been out 9 years, so now I don't really know them any longer. Just weird.

  Why? - Is it just me?

  am i the only one that is wound up by the way the watchtower writers speak down to their readers in their writing style.

  for instance; with regard to the use of the word "why"?

  for example this last weeks watchtower paragraph 17 said "the finest way to show mercy to those outside the christian congregation is to share bible truth with them.

  So sad.......I am sure everyone around them is in shock.

  How sad those babies will never know their momma....now they also will grow up with guilt since their mum died after giving birth to them, and they will be made to feel responsibiliy to the publishing company that she died for.

  i wasn't sure where to post my introduction but here i am!

  my name is melissa, i'm 29, a mother of 2 boys ages 9(10 in dec) and 14 months, i've been married to my dh for 10 years.. i was raised as a jw from the age of 4 and fell out of the religion around 18...almost went back at 19(went to a couple meetings).

  i was just looking for other ex jw's that can relate to me.
