Find the nearest Mormon church and ask to use thier family tracing faculities, you may be able to come up with a Soc Security no. if not an address. They have some awesome records, and usually they have some people who are intrested in helping you find stuff.
I was amazed, I was with someone who tracked down thier long lost half cousin. Her grandfather had just took off to California and started a new life out there. No one had an inkling that he had become rich and started a new family out there. She discovered a whole new line of relatives she never knew existed. This took her several weeks but was worth it.

Pagan or not pagan, that is my question.
by libra_spirit ini have been trying to figure out whether or not i am a pagan.. i looked in several dictionaries and now i'm really confused.. one says a pagan is one who has more then one god, another says that all religions that predate all existing religions are pagan.
christians say everything except christianity is pagan.
i'm beginning to wonder just what the word actually means, if anything.. christians use the word with distane, others seem to rejoice in using the word to describe themselves.

Christians use the word with distane, others seem to rejoice in using the word to describe themselves. Now if paganism is a "current religion" then those who practice it really are not pagans then are they?
I think Christians often confuse pagans and wicca's and actually anyone else. Indeed probably the JW's even call other Christians pagan because they celibrate Christmas, a pagan holiday...LOLSo maybe to Islams, Christians are the pagans.....Hmmmm
To a humanist, Christians are now the pagans, believing in that old time Religion instead of evolution or science which is much newer.
Anybody out there think they know what a pagan is?

Are you doubting?
by YoYoMama injames 1:5-8.
"so, if any one of you is lacking in wisdom, let him keep on asking god, for he gives generously to all and without reproaching; and it will be given him.
but let him keep on asking in faith, not doubting at all, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and blown about.

Seems like the JW's are the most doubting people in the world, each one has absolutly no strenght to stand on his own without the teat of the Org right there to fill in all his insecurities.
How can a JW not doubt, if he is asked to believe one way today another way tomorrow? All at the whim of the Org, flip flopping back and forth. A raped woman should scream, she should not scream, she should scream, back and forth. Then the never ending sliding time of the end. Beginning it's sliding in the late 1800's the end is still now conviently just a few short years ahead! How can anyone be stable and centered in a Religion that is so wishy-washy! -

True Christians also gather together money, look down thier nose on the poor, and don't care too much for prostitutes......LOL

IS THE WATCHTOWER A FALSE PROPHET?
by You Know inwhen jesus was on earth the devil approached him quoting scripture in order to tempt and entrap him.
it is no wonder then that the apostate angel would be behind the effort to use the scriptures against jehovahs people today in order to mislead them.
one of the most cunning and effective uses of scripture against us by satans agents is the charge that we are false prophets.

Why have you failed to put in what scripture you are quoting from, in your new testament quotes. Makes it hard to investigate what you are claiming.
Does not this scripture have to do with his second presence?
Do not the JW's fail to accept that Jesus will come in the flesh claiming he has already come invisibily?
Does it not say that every eye will see him in the same verse when he comes?Yes you are right that the Apostles from the beginning began to break Jesus comand. Jesus message that Love was more important then the letter of the law. They went back to the vomit that the Jews were practicing, laying down laws to burden one another. Forming a group that now used money, in direct violation of what Jesus told them to do. Give your money to the poor.
So what if you are not "false prophets" because you are not prophets. Read your own history brother Russell did claim to be a phrophet! But that is still no reason to be following your blind leadership, who wishes to impose laws upon me and my family which Jesus would never support! Which stand in direct violation of his commands.
Jesus did not care what his apearance was to others, he hung out with prostitutes and lepers, and he had no use for the "righteous." He did not come to help the righteous, but to help those who were in need.
The Jews were the ones worried about being righteous, and later the Apostles returned to this crap, but Jesus had no such concerns!
Jesus would not turn away from anyone because they had a beard or sideburns....because they were not a JW....or because they were not baptised in the name of the Spirit led Org of JW's. And the Apostles certainly never baptized anyone in the name of thier man made Organizations.

Run like hell hon!
The JW's are an organization that are very successful at destroying family ties and removing the element of Love, and replacing it with an element of fear, control, and seperation. You are seeing his fear come up now and it is engrained so deeply he does not recognize it as fear but believes it to be love. It even takes power over your true love as a couple.
There is no middle path with the JW's. They will remove all love until you submit to them, at that point you will be loveless believing in your mind your are right you will deny your heart as too treacherous to trust. -

Ralph,
I think a question like that has a purpose other then to seek a valid answer.
The only reason to ask such a question is based on faulty logic.1- Can anyone know the future?
2- If you did know the future, should you fear it's comming? On the first point you must surly realize that the track record for predictions for the JW's is totally inaccurate.
The track record of other psychics is also just as inaccurate. On the second point, should I allow my fears to control my actions. Even Jesus verbalized that "Love conquers Fear" The JW's use this fear to control your actions. Jesus would use Love to free you from the fear.
I guess my point is, you need to become aware of why you are asking a question, is there a hidden motivation? Some questions have no answer, and those who claim that they do are merely speculating, then using the question to manipulate things to thier advantage. Any claims right now to do with time travel, or seeing the actual future I would say are in the realm of fantasy. Even if you believed that John was seeing an actual real future of sorts, how can you stretch his visions to match todays date? Many other men have done this same thing including Norstradomus, should we fear thier predictions also?
It's the fear that is the mistake, because you can spend many years in paralysing fear not actually doing anything, frozen.

Two views of "Basic Doctrine"
by JeffT inbasic doctrines.
the other night a passage in in search of christian freedom caught my eye.
after discussing how the watchtower targets certain doctrinal matters in the earlier stages of its bible study program for new converts, franz makes this observation:.

The JW's have almost nothing right!
Think about this one.
What is the Holy Spirit?
The JW's tell me it is like electric current, a mindless force.
What is the unforgivable sin?
Sinning against the Holy Spirit.
My conclusion, the JW's teach that the only unforgivable sin is that of sinning against an impersonal electric like force.Nothing could be more warped then thier views of the Holy Spirit, which at every turn they deny to be anything real or important. Almost none of them today are annointed in this Holy Spirit, and almost all of them deny it at every turn. If anyone manifests the Holy Spirit they are stamped as demonized. Imagine the laying on of hands healing someone, either in emotions or in the physical. What would the JW's say about this......they have turned Gods Holy Spirit into something evil and powerless, to be feard!

Does our little crusade matter to the world?
by sleepy indoes our little crusade matter to the world?.
considering jw's make up such a small part of the worlds population to what extent do our beefs with the organisation matter to anyone unconnected?.
should our opinions of witness beliefs concern people more than witness themselves .should everyone have the right to make up there own mind and chose to be witnesses without us interfereing?.
-
libra_spirit
Yes it does matter!
But the message the world will hear, I think is one of human intrest, sorrow, loss, and mourning. The world will not listen to a message of anger, doctrinal arguement, and attacks.
There are a group of people who have never had a choice, those are the children who grew up in the Org like myself. It has been far harder for these ones programmed from birth to exit the Org.and get to a place of free choice. Having shunned people without thought all my growing years, it has only been recently, 26 years out, that I have considered some of the damage I have participated in. One suicide in particular has left a very painful scar.
So does it matter to the world? My answer "it should matter!" but if no one speaks out it probably never will.
Speaking out is the only thing that will bring change. We were programmed to keep our truth secret and hidden from the world.Hello everyone, I have not been here for quite a long time, but I am enjoying all your comments. Feel free to check out my URL, and my story, and write if you like.
Thanks,
DL
